Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. If she’s not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her reading, watching reality television, or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to rockstars, er, rock concerts. Yeah, that's it. She is the National Bestselling Author of The Loving on the Edge series from Berkley Heat.
Places to find Roni:
When Danielle asked me to join in on the Favorite Book Couples event, a number of couples popped right into my mind. Claire and Jamie from Outlander, Dougless and Nicholas from A Knight In Shining Armor, Rose and Dmitri from Vampire Academy…but I feel like those have been said before a lot of times.
So I thought for this, I’d do the top 5 book couples I’ve read in the last year. (Now that’s not to say the books were released in the last year just that I read them recently.) And as you can tell, I kind of read all over the place when it comes to genre, so hopefully there’s a little something for everyone. :-)
Roni’s Top 5 Couples from the Last Year
1. Samantha and Jase from Huntley Fitzpatrick’s MY LIFE NEXT DOOR (young adult)
I loved everything about this book. Great story, a terrific cast of characters and a sweet romance. Plus, how gorgeous is that cover?
2. Cath and Levi from Rainbow Rowell’s FANGIRL (new adult-ish)
Levi is a fantastic beta hero (which is hard to pull off) and the relationship between him and Cath is adorable. Plus, the book just kicks ass.
3. Amber and Meoraq from THE LAST HOUR OF GANN by R. Lee Smith (sci-fi/horror/romance/erotic/lots of things)
Yes, it’s an alien/lizard hero. No, that doesn’t sound at all appealing. But trust me, this was one of my favorite reads of the last year, and I don’t read sci-fi romance. Epic book. Great couple.
4. Nora and Soren from Tiffany Reisz’s THE MISTRESS (erotica)
If you haven’t read Tiffany’s Original Sinners series, get to it people. Start with THE SIREN to get the full story of this relationship, though.
5. Joan and Tristan from LOVE AND OTHER SCANDALS by Caroline Linden (historical romance)
The sharp-tongued wallflower and the sexy, sarcastic rake? Yes, please. This one was sweet and funny with great banter and a fun couple. Adored it.
So those are my top five. Has anyone else read any of these? What’s been your favorite couple of the last year?
Joan Bennet is tired of being a wallflower. Thanks to some deliciously scandalous—and infamous—stories, she has a pretty good idea of what she's missing as a spinster. Is even a short flirtation too much to ask for?
Tristan, Lord Burke, recognizes Joan at once for what she is: trouble. Not only is she his best friend's sister, she always seems to catch him at a disadvantage. The only way he can win an argument is by kissing her senseless. He'd give anything to get her out of her unflattering gowns. But either one of those could cost him his bachelor status, which would be dreadful—wouldn't it?

She’s making a wish list, and he wants to be on top.
From foster kid to trophy wife, Tessa McAllen is about to reinvent herself all over again—and defy every insult her cheating ex-husband ever used against her: Selfish? She’s championing a charity. Stupid? She’s getting her degree.
Boring in bed?
Kade Vandergriff can help her with that one. When they encounter each other at a singles event held at one of his restaurants, Tessa blurts out that kink is for girls who try too hard, and Kade instantly wants to show this sassy stranger how thrilling a night under his command can be...but when he learns her name, the game changes for both of them.
In high school, Tessa was the popular girl who stuttering, awkward Kade fell for. But she chose another. Now, as she eagerly learns lesson after lesson, he’s going to make sure she never forgets him again.
