Places to find Virna:
Author Jeaniene Frost created magic with her Night Huntress couple, Cat and Bones. Their relationship began in Halfway to the Grave and remained strong throughout seven books! When we first meet Cat she’s on a vampire-killing spree, but then she picks the wrong vampire to stalk.
Master vampire Bones knows he should kill the vampire-hunting minx he meets at a club, but instead he chains her to a wall and offers to teach her how to hunt vampires for real. Then he actually fights her, holding nothing back, to show her he means business. Later, he shows her he’s just as serious about giving her pleasure then love.
One of my favorite quotes:
“I’m saying that I’m a moody, insecure, narrow-minded, jealous, borderline homicidal bitch, and I want you to promise me that you’re okay with that, because it’s who I am, and you’re what I need.” Cat to Bones from Halfway to the Grave
One thing I love about this couple is how much they grow throughout the series. As Cat learns about the supernatural world, so does the reader. We meet all kinds of creatures, including vampires, ghosts, goblins, voodoo queens and more! However, one thing never changes throughout all seven books—the bond between Cat and Bones. They confront many enemies who try to tear them apart romantically and/or physically, and yet they keep their relationship strong and spicy hot.
Another thing that I love about Frost’s series is her ability to combine humor, deep emotion, hot sex, and thrilling danger all in one fabulous package. In Up from a Grave, for example, Cat and Bones go through hell and have some of their worst fears come to light. At the same time, the novel incorporates humor like this exchange between Cat, Bones & Ian:
“Shame on you, Crispin. Married how long, and you haven’t spanked your wife with a metal spatula yet?”
I’d gotten used to Ian’s assumptions that everyone was as perverted as he was, so I didn’t miss a beat.
“We prefer blender beaters for our kitchen utensil kink,” I said with a straight face.
Bones hid a smile behind his hand, but Ian looked intrigued.
“I haven’t tried that…oh, you’re lying, aren’t you?”
“You think?” I asked with a snort.
Ian gave a sigh of exaggerated patience and glanced at Bones.
“Being related to her through you is a real trial.”
-Up from the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
I was so sad when I found out this series was going to end, but ultimately Frost left me satisfied. For me, Cat and Bones will always be remembered as a paranormal/urban fantasy “It Couple.” Cat & Bones Forever!
Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.
In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner—are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Welcome to a mesmerizing world where vampires hide among humans. This centuries-old species has its own rules, code of conduct, and taboos. Only the FBI knows that vampires exist—and although the Bureau agrees to keep their secret, it also plots to give humans the upper hand.
Turning mortals into vampires is forbidden.
But there are creatures who refuse to play by the rules.
Ever since he was turned, FBI special agent Ty Duncan has had one mission: bring rogue vampires to justice. As a recruiter for Belladonna, a shadow agency formed to keep vampires in check, Ty must tap Ana Martin, a troubled ex–gang member and one of the few mortals who can infiltrate places that his kind and the law cannot. From their first encounter, Ty fights a hunger to make Ana his own.
When Ty claims to have information about Ana’s missing sister, Ana has no choice but to trust this captivating stranger who awakens her deepest desires. But as she and Ty climb the heights of pleasure and passion, an enemy is conspiring to destroy them both.
Can Ana help Ty find his humanity in a love that could heal them both, or will their passion lead them into a darkness impossible to escape?
