Sealed With a Kiss Event with Anna Campell

ANNA CAMPBELL has written nine multi award-winning historical romances for Grand Central Publishing and Avon HarperCollins and her work is published in sixteen languages. Anna is currently engaged in writing the "Sons of Sin" series, which started in 2012 with SEVEN NIGHTS IN A ROGUE’S BED. Look out for A SCOUNDREL BY MOONLIGHT in April 2015. Anna lives on the beautiful east coast of Australia where she writes full-time.

These letters are written while Cam Rothermere, the Duke of Sedgemoor, is away from his wife Penelope on a quest to save his friend (once enemy) the Marquess of Leath from a blackmailer, events described in my 28th April release, A SCOUNDREL BY MOONLIGHT. Cam and Pen have known each other all their lives and have taken a rocky path to happiness. Because Pen is in the late stages of pregnancy, she’s remained behind at the Rothermere family seat in Derbyshire while Cam goes adventuring outside London. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into their married life!

From Camden Rothermere, His Grace, the Duke of Sedgemoor, Maidenhead, Berkshire, 28th November 1828

From Penelope Rothermere, Her Grace, the Duchess of Sedgemoor, Fentonwyck, Derbyshire, 30th November 1828

Check out Cam and Penelope's love story in What a Duke Dares.

What woman in her right mind would say no to marrying the dashing Duke of Sedgemoor? Miss Penelope Thorne, that's who. She's known Camden Rothermere since they were children-and she also knows she'd bring nothing but scandal to his name.

Cam can hardly believe Penelope turned down his proposal. But if she wants to run off to the Continent and set the rumor mill ablaze, he can't stop her. Then her brother's dying request sends him to bring home the one woman he thought he'd finally gotten over.

The only way they'll both get back to London without their reputations in tatters is to pretend they're married during the journey. That means kissing like they mean it and even sharing a bed-until it becomes hard to tell where the game ends and true desire begins . . .

    3. Ki, what a lovely way to put it. My aim when I put them together was to take two reasonably functioning people (neither's tortured although they have their baggage) and make them better when they were together than when they were apart. I think they each learned from the other as they fell in love.

  19. Oooh, this "pretend" game that Cam and Penelope are playing at seems destined to become very real indeed. But I love the humorous romp they've gotten themselves into, which is destined to bring me hours of delicious entertainment! I can't believe I don't have this book of Anna's...maybe it's because it was before Christmas month...which always beggars me. :-) In any event, I'll throw my name into the hat for one of Anna's books...always! 40. What a shame that people do not write letters like these any more. Just 45 years ago it was still done.It takes thought, sentiment, and care to express yourself so. I treasure the letters my husband and I exchanged so many years ago. Though no so ardent as those above, they are still a reminder and example of how we felt about each other and our plans for the future. In a way I am glad we were half a world apart and had no other way to communicate but through letters.

    1. Pat, you're so right. When I was clearing out the house, I came across a lot of letters I'd written my parents over the years, including the ones I sent when I lived in England for two years. Such treasures. Nobody treasures emails the same way.
