Sealed With a Kiss Event with Vanessa Kelly

Named by Booklist as one of the "New Stars of Historical Romance," bestselling author Vanessa Kelly's books have been nominated for awards in a number of contests. She is also the recipient of the prestigious Maggie Medallion for historical romance. With a Master's Degree in English Literature, Vanessa is known for developing vibrant Regency settings, appealing characters, and witty storylines that captivate readers.

Happy almost Valentine’s Day, everyone! I’m Vanessa Kelly and I write Regency-set historical romance. The letters below feature Charles and Gillian, Duke and Duchess of Leverton, and the hero and heroine of my latest book. Of course, Gillian and Charles aren’t married in MY FAIR PRINCESS. In fact, they’ve only just met. And it’s not the happiest of meetings either, since Charles is tasked with turning Gillian into a proper, mild-mannered lady—a project she strong opposes!

The following letters are written some months after Gillian and Charles are married.

Leverton House, London
April 1817

Penley Manor, Yorkshire
April 1817
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, I’ll give away a $10 Amazon gift card and a copy of my previous book, HOW TO MARRY A ROYAL HIGHLANDER (open international). To enter, simply leave a comment about how you might like to spend Valentine’s Day. (If you’re like me, you’ll probably ignore it. LOL!)

Check out Gillian and Charles's love story in My Fair Princess.

First, Vanessa Kelly brought readers The Renegade Royals. Now, in a delightfully witty new series, she introduces The Improper Princesses—three young women descended from royalty, each bound for her own thrilling adventure . . .

Despite being the illegitimate daughter of a prince, Gillian Dryden is happily ignorant of all social graces. After growing up wild in Italy, Gillian has been ordered home to England to find a suitable husband. And Charles Valentine Penley, the excessively proper, distractingly handsome Duke of Leverton, has agreed to help transform her from a willful tomboy to a blushing debutante.

Powerful and sophisticated, Charles can make or break reputations with a well-placed word. But his new protégée, with her habit of hunting bandits and punching earls, is a walking scandal. The ton is aghast . . . but Charles is thoroughly intrigued. Tasked with taking the hoyden in hand, he longs to take her in his arms instead. Can such an outrageous attraction possibly lead to a fairytale ending?

  12. I don't do anything different on Valentine's Day, but if I had someone special, I would just want to spend the day with them, doing something fun. I don't need flowers or candy, experiencing an enjoyable day is much better.

  13. I'll be working at least 10 hours on Valentine's Day - and my husband will be halfway across the country for work. And yes, our 25th anniversary is the day after V-Day. (It made sense at the time since more family was able to travel for the wedding that weekend. . .) It's ok, we're going to take a trip in the spring to celebrate. :-)

I loved the letters! So very much in character for both of them!
