My Favorite Things Event with Helena Hunting

NTY and USA Today Bestselling author of The PUCKED Series, Helena Hunting lives outside of Toronto with her amazing family and her two awesome cats, who think the best place to sleep is her keyboard. Helena writes everything from contemporary romance to romance comedy, sports romance and angsty new adult romance.

My Favourite Things

1. My husband and the kidlet. I don’t know that I need to explain why they top my list, but I sure will.  My husband is my biggest cheerleader, he’s my security blanket at signings and he’s just generally awesome. My daughter is equally awesome (being at least a good 50% her dad) and currently clueless to the reason behind all the beaver, yeti, wiener dog and rooster paraphernalia in our house. I’m not excited for the day when she puts all of that together. She’s the brightest light and just a sweet human.

2. My Salt and Pepper key rings: The key rings are symbolic of my author world bestie. I keep them attached to my purse, so when I have to travel to signings without Debra Anastasia, she’s at least there in Pepper Shaker spirit. She’s my rock in this world and I love her to bits.

3. Coffee. Because coffee. It’s delicious, it wakes me up in the morning, it makes my brain turn on, it’s warm, I can snuggle with it—okay, not the last one, but I can snuggle while drinking a cup so there’s that.

4. Music. I need it to write. I know some people require silence, but I am not that person. I require sound. Sometimes I write an entire book while listening to the same album. My poor husband gets burned out on artists thanks to my album obsessions.

5. Running. The literal act of putting one foot in front of the other for no other reason than to cover distance.  Not because I’m running away from something. I live in Canada so for approximately half the year it’s too cold and snowy—and generally too dangerous—for me to run outside without slipping on ice or getting lost in a snow bank. But once spring hits the trails are my preference. Until then I’ll hit the treadmill with my kindle. It’s my reading/planning time.

Ruby Scott is months behind on rent and can’t seem to land a steady job. She has one chance to turn things around with a big audition. But instead of getting her big break, she gets sick as a dog and completely bombs it in the most humiliating fashion. All thanks to a mysterious, gorgeous guy who kissed—and then coughed on—her at a party the night before.

Luckily, her best friend might have found the perfect opportunity; a job staying at the lavish penthouse apartment of hotel magnate Bancroft Mills while he’s out of town, taking care of his exotic pets. But when the newly-evicted Ruby arrives to meet her new employer, it turns out Bane is the same guy who got her sick.

Seeing his role in Ruby’s dilemma, Bane offers her a permanent job as his live-in pet sitter until she can get back on her feet. Filled with hilariously awkward encounters and enough sexual tension to heat a New York City block, Shacking Up, from NYT and USA Today bestselling author Helena Hunting, is sure to keep you laughing and swooning all night long.

Hello Helena Hunting :) I love your sense of humor. What is your favorite hockey team? (I watched few games and comparing teams from NHL to teams from my country...well kindergarden) and I am really curious what were you listening while writing Pucked :) Do you remember? Thank you for the chance and good luck ladies.
