My Favorite Things
This is a hard question, an impossible question, one that has me staring at the cursor on my computer because...well I have so many favorite things! From books, to my son, husband, chocolate--the list really does go on, so I figured I'd narrow things down a bit and share my favorite genres of Romance, ready? Set. GO!
5. Paranormal: There's just something about stepping into crazy worlds, and the amazing author minds behind said worlds. I love the tension, the danger, and the sensuality that paranormal books provide. Whenever I need a break from life in general or from my writing deadlines I turn to paranormal.. JR Ward anyone?
4. Regency Romance: Honest moment....I read probably 2 regency romances a week, I don't care that a lot of times the storylines are the same, girl debuts, falls for rake, rake is reformed, the end. It's EVERYTHING. I love the way people talked, the dresses, the rules, and what I love most? The way that people broke rules in the name of love. My faves come from Julia Quinn.
3. Contemporary Romance: Sometimes a girl just needs a book about a really good looking businessman and his secretary, or the stay at home mom that wants more for her life and gets a second chance with the one that got away. I used to shy away from contemporary romance, as well as women's fiction and then I suddenly realized, wait, this is me, this is where I'm at in life, this is the stuff I'm dealing with. I think every contemporary romance should be paired with a nice bottle (note that I didn't say glass, just sip responsibly) of wine and a book club with your closest friends! My faves are from Lauren Layne!
2. Fantasy YA: It's easy to read, it's poignant, it's messy, it's insane, it's everything I want from a book. The romance is always very light, but there comes a time in everyones life where they suddenly remember what that first kiss was like or the first crush, or the first time you saw someone and your world shifted. YA brings me back to that place *insert happy sigh*.
1. New Adult: Probably not a shock to most people since my main genre is New Adult, but I'm very attracted to the in-between, the weird space after college where you think you have the world at your fingertips and suddenly go oh wait, I'm in debt, I don' know how to do laundry, power bill? What's that? It's the time in your life where one day you think you have everything together and the next day suddenly realize you know nothing about life, yourself, or the world. I love writing it and it's my absolute favorite to read!

Up for Grabs:The first book in an all-new contemporary romance series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken.Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . . .
