Guest Post with Author Linda Broday and Giveaway

At a young age, LINDA BRODAY discovered a love for storytelling, history, and anything pertaining to the Old West. Cowboys fascinate her. There’s something about Stetsons, boots, and tall rugged cowboys that get her fired up. A New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Linda has won many awards, including the prestigious National Readers’ Choice Award and the Texas Gold Award. She resides in the Texas Panhandle and is inspired every day.

Who is Your Favorite Supporting Character in Knight on the Texas Plains?

Of all the supporting characters in this book, Luke McClain, Duel’s younger brother steals my heart. Luke is a Texas Ranger and he loves his job. He sees this as a “calling” much like a man of God does in becoming a preacher. And he’s good at it.

And then he’s faced with the death of a rancher who was shot and killed by his wife.

He follows the trail that leads to his brother’s door. Duel’s new wife Jessie hides secrets behind her blue eyes. But she says that her maiden name is Rumsford.

Over many visits to their home, Luke sees that she’s a wonderful, caring woman and hates his suspicions. Even if she turns out to be the killer he’s after, he questions whether or not he can arrest her. For the first time, he hates his job as a lawman.

Doing the right thing is deeply embedded in Luke’s DNA. He believes in justice, a fair shake, and family loyalty above all. This story puts him at odds with his convictions and makes him doubt that he can keep wearing the silver star.

I don’t think I’ve ever written a more fun-loving character though. Luke is the complete opposite of his serious brother. He likes kidding around and he especially loves being an uncle to the little baby girl his brother wins in a poker game.

Luke is also one of the most charming and passionate men I’ve written. So much that I gave him his own book. THE COWBOY WHO CAME CALLING re-releases in Feb. 2018.

I knew he needed someone of his own to love so I gave him one who’s going blind.

There’s lots ahead for this year and next so keep watching.

He’ll do whatever it takes
To keep them safe

Duel McClain has lost everything he’s ever loved: his wife, his son, his sense of self. But when a strange twist of fate—and a poker game he’ll never forget—leaves an innocent little girl in his care, Duel vows to defend his new family to his very last breath. If only he knew a single thing about taking care of babies…

Just as Duel swears his life can’t get any more complicated, a beautiful woman stumbles into the light of his campfire, desperate for help. Jessie Foltry is hungry, tired, and running for her life. She agrees to help Duel care for the child in exchange for his protection, even as she fights to guard her broken heart. But Duel will do whatever it takes to make Jessie see that the Texas plains have more than one kind of knight, and perhaps their salvation is closer than either of them could have dreamed…
