Review: Say You Want Me by Corinne Michaels

I was so excited to see that Corinne Michaels had a new book coming out, especially when I found out it was Wyatt's story! Say You Want Me is a standalone story, but for those that have read her book Say You'll Stay, you will recognize Wyatt as being Zach's brother. Say You Want Me had my attention right from the start, and I really loved this story.

Angie Benson had no intention of falling for Wyatt Hennington, especially after he left her in his bed without so much of a word. But a few months later, Angie finds herself leaving her beloved Philadelphia behind for Bell Buckle, Tennessee. Though everything has changed for Angie, she still has no plans to let Wyatt in. But Wyatt is determined to show Angie that what they could have is so much more and that she belongs in his town and in his life for good.

I don't think it would have been possible to love Wyatt more! Seriously he was sweet and sexy, charming  and strong. He is the stuff that book boyfriends are made of, and I just loved him. I thought that he was great for Angie and was so glad that he didn't let her get away with pushing him away. Angie was strong despite all that she had been through, and I really felt for her. She had so much to deal with, and then her life took another unexpected turn forcing her to rethink everything. But I loved that she slowly opened herself up to Wyatt and the possibility of a future, and seeing her grow and evolve was so satisfying as a reader. These two had chemistry right from the start, but their emotional connection and bond was so much fun to see grow and strengthen as this story progressed.

If you have ever read a book by Corinne Michaels, then you know that they are emotional and deal with things that aren't easily dealt with. Say You Want Me definitely lived up to that, and yet it was such a beautiful story. Corinne's books always have a way of putting the reader on an emotional roller coaster, yet the love and connection in each make it all worth it. Say You Want Me was so good, and it was filled with everything that I love in a great romance story. If you want a romance that is funny and sexy, and delivers all the feels, Say You Want Me is a must read. I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on Trent and Grace's story next! Corinne Michaels is an auto buy author for me, and I highly recommend all her books!

ARC Review: Say You'll Stay by Corinne Michaels

Say You'll Stay is the first book in new Return to Me series from Corinne Michaels. Just like everything else I have read from her, I absolutely loved it! This book was so good, and I didn't want to put it down. It was a very emotional read though, and I will warn you that there are some subjects that are dealt with here that might be hard for some to get through. I really believe that this story is worth the read though, and I highly recommend giving this one a shot.

Presley had loved Zach since they were kids, and they planned their life together. She would follow him to college and they would get married and have kids, all while he would make it to the pros playing the game he loved. But everything changed with one decision that left both of them broken hearted. Presley moved on and got married and had two boys. Just as it appeared that her life was in a good place, another decision changed everything for her once more. Once again left behind, Presley is forced to return home to Tennessee after being left for broke with two boys to raise. But she never expects to see Zach again and old feelings come rushing back for both of them. After seventeen years they are both different people with plenty of hurt and heartbreak between them, but can they get a second chance to get things right? This story was an emotional roller coaster for me.

I really liked Presley and Zach, and I knew right away that these two had to be together. They were meant for one another and it was obvious that their feelings had never gone away for each other. My heart broke for all that they had been though, and it was clear that feelings were never the issue for them. Both Presley and Zach were young and made some poor decisions that they though they needed to or were for the best, and I think a lot of that was just their age. I wished so badly that they had talked to one another and wouldn't have been through all that they had, but that also would have meant that so much else wouldn't have happened including Presley's boys and they were everything to her. I loved how Zach accepted them right away and never tried to replace their dad. He was great with them and Presley, and I really loved the bond that was forming between all of them. They were so much fun to read about, and I loved the dynamic between them all.

The other thing I really loved about this book was the great cast of secondary characters. I honestly cannot wait to get more of each of them, and I am so glad that we are getting Wyatt and Angie's story next! I was really hoping they would get a story after seeing them here, and the sparks are already flying between them. I will say that this book was emotionally intense and there was a ton of angst. I loved it though, even while it broke my heart at times. Corinne Michaels is a great writer, and I know that she will always put my heart back together after breaking it though and that was no different here. I hated all the time and distance as well as others that were between these two (totally irrational I know), but I also felt like things played out as they should have here considering everything that had happened. Zach and Presley's story was one filled with pain and heartbreak, but also love and hope. If you are looking for an emotional contemporary romance, I highly recommend this story! Corinne Michaels is one of my favorite authors, and I have never been disappointed by anything she has written. Already anxious for the next book, and I am really looking forward to seeing what she has in store for some of these characters next.

ARC Review: Defenseless by Corinne Michaels

Defenseless is the newest book in the Salvation Series by Corinne Michaels. While this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the previous books in order to get full enjoyment as the focus of this story centers around discovering who is responsible for problems that Mark and the guys have been having throughout this series. Fans of the series will be relieved to know that this book does not contain a cliffhanger.

As Jackson Cole's security company continues to be plagued with missing shipments and sabotage, Mark Dixon is more determined than ever to figure out who is behind it. Knowing he needs outside help, he goes to CIA agent Charlie Erickson for help. Having been removed from the case that has become her life, Charlie decides to continue working on it outside the agency. Though she doesn't fully trust him, she knows that Mark could help her find the man responsible for killing her father and sabotaging Mark's guys. But as the two try to get to the bottom of what is happening, the attraction between them threatens everything they are trying to accomplish. Both know that they should stay away from one another to avoid putting themselves in more danger, but they find it impossible to fight the chemistry between them.

I really liked Mark in the previous books, and I really loved him here. I have to say that sometimes Mark's over the top personality got to be a little much, and it was easy to see how Charlie could find him so exasperating. I love the guy, but he did have a problem being serious at times. I actually really loved it when he was serious though. As much as I enjoyed his charm and his joking around, I loved seeing how deep his feelings for Charlie went and just how much he cared about those in his life. Charlie was one of the strongest heroines I have ever read about. I definitely loved her ability to do what most consider a man's job and the fact that she was as good at it as she was. She was also able to still be feminine and I really liked seeing that side of her as well. While she was also a bit frustrating at times, I did understand her reluctance to want to start any type of relationship due to her career. The reason it was frustrating for me at times was because it was so clear how perfect these two were for one another and I wanted her to wake up earlier! But I really enjoyed their connection and chemistry, and these two were so hot together! The steam between them was off the charts, and I loved their sexy scenes.

Overall, this was another great book in this series. I will say that those who have read the previous books should expect a completely different feel here than what they are used to from Corinne Michaels. Defenseless was more focused on find out what was going on with the guys and there was a lot more suspense here than we have previously seen from Corinne. I did feel like this book was missing a bit of the emotion and angst that we are used to from her, but it was good to get some answers to some of the questions that we have had for awhile now. I was glad that we got a little more emotion toward the end of this book, as I had been missing that throughout the first 75% of the story. While I liked Mark and Charlie, I was wanting a bit more of them rather than just the constant search for answers and push and pull they had going on. Still a great book, and I think fans of the series will really enjoy this one. Natalie and Liam are still my favorites, and I was so glad we got more of them and the rest of the gang here. I am looking forward to the next book in this series, and I can't wait to see what happens next for all these characters!

ARC Review: Conviction by Corinne Michaels

Conviction is the second installment in the Consolation Duet by Corinne Michaels. It is part of her Salvation Series and the characters are interconnected. Though you do not have to read the rest of the Salvation Series to enjoy this book, I would recommend it. It is necessary however to have read Consolation before starting Conviction. If you haven't read Consolation yet, you definitely need to read that book before Conviction to understand everything that has happened. Plus it is a fantastic story, and is one of my all time favorites.

Conviction picks up right where we left off in Consolation, with Natalie's world being flipped upside down. Just when she had started to piece her life together and move forward, everything changes for her yet again. Though Natalie is in love with Liam, there is so much more for them to face than just his upcoming deployment. Is their love strong enough to make it through anything, or will it be over before it ever really began now that everything has changed?

I loved Natalie and Liam right from the start. Liam came to Natalie in a time that her life had fallen apart, and he was the rock that she needed. He gave her strength and encouragement, and his unconditional love. He loved her and her daughter Aara and showed over and over that he would do anything for both of them. He was great in this story as well, handling everything that they faced the best that he could. My heart hurt for him so much, and yet I thought that he was doing everything he needed to. He was the good guy that we have come to know and love, and I just adore his character. Natalie was forced to face so much more than she already had, and I think this book brought out the absolute best in her. She grew so much over these two books, and Conviction really felt like her story. It wasn't about the men in her life or who she should be with, but rather her journey. She handles everything with such strength and grace, and her character is one of the strongest heroines I have ever read. She has her moments where she breaks down just like any of us would, but it is how she recovers and moves forward that makes her so special. She was a great mom and I loved that she always had her priorities where they should be. My heart broke for both her and Liam, but I think that they each handled things the best they could and it showed why they had connected in the first place. These two truly deserved the unconditional love and happiness that they had started to find with one another, and I never gave up hope that they would end up exactly where they should.

I think that Corinne Michaels really gave the perfect ending to Liam and Natalie's story. I won't say who if anyone she ended up with, and I won't give spoilers. But I will say that I thought that Corinne wrote an ending to the story for everyone involved that felt so true to the characters. I really felt like everyone ended up exactly where they should have, and I think that all of these characters really grew and changed over the course of these two books. To me the Consolation Duet is really Natalie's story, but I also felt like the other characters each had a lot to face as well. They all made progress, and I was captivated right from the start. I loved this duet, and I know I will read it over and over again in the future. But I cannot wait to get more of some of the other characters as well, and I am absolutely dying for Mark's story! He is so interesting to me, and I really loved him in these books. I can't wait for more from Corinne Michaels, and if you haven't read these yet they are absolute must reads! Corinne Michaels writes beautiful and emotional stories that you can't help but get lost in, and I would read anything with her name on it because I know I will love it.

ARC Review: Consolation by Corinne Michaels

Consolation is the first part of the Consolation Duet from Corinne Michaels, and it is also a part of her Salvation series. Each Duet features a different set of characters and can be read as a standalone, but they are all interconnected. Though these books do not have to be read in order of the series as a whole be aware that if you start with Consolation, what happens in the Belonging Duet will be spoiled for you. I will also say that the reader should keep in mind that Consolation is only part one of this duet, and there is a cliffhanger. It definitely leaves the reader wanting more, but trust me when I tell you that this story is worth reading regardless of the wait for more. Consolation was such a fantastic story, and I think that readers will fall just as hard for Liam as I did.

After losing her husband, Natalie was left alone to raise her daughter. She never expected to be a widow and single mother, but she knows that she needs to carry on for Aarabelle's sake. When her husband's best friend Liam shows up to help her out, at first she is hesitant to let him in. She is barely surviving and doesn't know how to accept help from anyone. But Liam isn't willing to give up on her and soon they are spending more time together. As they are around each other more, they begin to see each other in a new light and both begin to develop feelings beyond friendship for one another. Though they never thought that they would be anything more than friends, when they are together it feels right. But can Liam and Natalie find a way to leave the past behind them and move forward with the future? Will they ever be able to be together without feeling like Aaron is between them?

I loved Liam so much. He was beyond amazing, and was pretty much perfect. He was sweet and kind, protective and patient. But he also wasn't afraid to give it to Natalie straight, and I loved him so much more for that. Liam was so good with Natalie and her daughter Aarabelle. He didn't always know what he was doing, but it was clear just how deep his feelings for them went. Natalie was great as well. She was so strong, and handled everything she was dealt with such grace. I cannot even begin to imagine experiencing everything that she did, and yet each time she surprised me so much with how level headed and mature she was. She did have a few moments that she let get away from her a bit, but it was always over almost as soon as it began. The thing that I really loved with Natalie though was that she was able to find a way to not only survive, but to begin to put herself back together. Liam really helped her to begin to live again, and I loved that they were open and honest with each other. They took things slow, and I loved that they didn't try to rush things even after they admitted their feelings. They took things one day at a time and that was what made it so real and believable. These two had great chemistry, and you could feel the attraction between them. But their connection was undeniable, and I loved that it wasn't just the two of them but that it also included Aara.

Overall, I cannot begin to go into details about everything I loved about this story. Trust me when I tell you that you absolutely have to go into this one and just experience it. It was beautiful and emotional, and at times my heart felt like it was literally breaking for these characters. They had all been through so much, and at times it felt like the hits just kept coming. The ending was a surprise to me, and while I knew something bad was coming it wasn't what I had expected at all. I cannot wait to get the next book and have some questions answered. Corinne Michaels did a great job of giving the reader just enough to keep us reading, and hungry enough to want more. Consolation was written brilliantly, and I was instantly invested in this story. I didn't want to put it down, and I fell in love with Liam right along with Natalie. I definitely recommend this story to romance readers looking for something emotional and deep. This book gave me all the feels, and I will anxiously be awaiting Conviction.
