ARC Review: Beauty and the Blacksmith by Tessa Dare

Who does not yearn for another trip to Spindle Cove, the seaside haven for misfit girls? This time we focus on Diana Highwood, a character with whom we have become well acquainted since the first book, A Night to Surrender. Beautiful Diana is destined, according to her ambitious mother, to fulfill the hopes of the family by marrying a titled gentleman. Never mind that her younger sister, Minerva, has already accomplished this feat in A Week to be Wicked. Diana is uninterested in pursuing the few gentlemen that cross her path because she totally has the hots for the blacksmith, Aaron Dawes. And who wouldn't? He is big and brawny and conveniently has the hots for Diana as well. So what is the problem? Well, Aaron isn't sure he is good enough and Diana isn't sure she can stand up to her mother. Will true love (and lust) prevail?

Reading Beauty and the Blacksmith is like eating a yummy treat, maybe like cheesecake. It takes a little while to get through it, but you enjoy every bite. It won't meet all your needs, but it's lucious while it lasts. This is a thoroughly enjoyable novella. No great depth, just a yummy treat. And it added the opportunity to get to know Diana's irrepressible youngest sister, Charlotte. So take another trip to Spindle Cove. You won't regret it.
