A lone witness finds her protector...
Since losing her sight in a childhood accident, Mia Danvers has resided in a small cottage on the vast Carrington estate. Thought to be dead, Mia lives a life of virtual seclusion—until one night, while walking home, she happens upon a horrendous crime.
Alex Foster, Eighth Duke of Carrington, lives according to society’s expectations for him. He’s never met the woman who lives in the cottage at the edge of his property. But when she arrives at his door in the pouring rain terrified and claiming she has witnessed a murder, she seizes his attention.
Mia is determined to help the authorities track down the culprit, even though the only person willing to accept her aid is the handsome, arrogant duke. Working closely together proves difficult as Mia’s beauty and independence tempts Alex to ignore convention and follow his desire. But what neither of them know is that this murderer has struck before in Whitechapel, taunting the British press only to vanish—a ruthless killer who knows that Mia is the only living witness to his crime…

Definitely adding to my TBR! Historical setting, romance and mystery . . . three of my favorites all in one. Love that!

ReplyDeleteLove the idea of being a blind woman! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI've read a few reviews about this, which has definitely peaked my interest. I love a story that has romance, danger and intrigue in it.

I always look forward to new books by Robyn. The Secrets of Mia Danvers is already on my Kindle.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cover!
ReplyDeleteI am so interested in reading The Secrets of Mia Danvers! Such a unique story line with her losing her sight. Did someone in particular inspire that trait in your heroine?
ReplyDeleteNope. When I thought of the idea of having Jack the Ripper keep killing and having a witness, she just came to me blind. I don't have anyone close to me either who is blind so I did my best and hope I did Mia justice.
DeleteI love, or should I say, that I adore Regency-Victorian stories! I would love to read and review The Secrets of Mia Danvers! I have a question for you Robyn, is your story set in that period or later on. Love the description and find your cover so romantic! nlaverdure88@videotron.ca
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole. I set my book 6 months after the real-life Jack the Ripper Murders, so the book is set in 1889. Thanks for asking.
DeleteThis one looks great! Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteHello again, Robyn! Hope you're planning on a fun, safe 4th with your family. It's hotter than...here in Sacramento, Ca. :-) Keep on with your lovely writing with those "unique plotlines and authentic characters." I'll do my part and keep on reading your books. jdh2690@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThis is the 2nd or 3rd time I've read about THE SECRETs OF MIA DANVERS. I read an excerpt, and it's really peaked my interest.
ReplyDeleteRobyn, your bio says you live in Texas -- that's a big state, but neighbor to me in Oklahoma (& orig from New Mexico) -- might you be close by?
Hi Donna - yes, TX is a big 'ol state. I live in central TX, near Austin. But I get up close to OK when I visit my sister in north TX. So I won't say never.
DeleteHi! Congrats on your release! Sounds great!!! Definitely a story up my alley! :) Thank you!

Hi Mia!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's been 10 years since I read Courting Claudia and I've your books ever since.
One of the things I love about your stories is you always make me identify with your characters.
I love the excerpts I've read about The Secrets of Mia Danvers and have already fallen in love with Mia. She really is a role model for others with disabilities and had growing to be independent and with a strength to face the world and with determination to seek justice for those who no longer can.
I wonder if those of us who haven't faced living with a disability like she does would have the courage that she shows early in your story!
I can't wait to find out how long it will take to realize what a strong woman she is!
your book sounds very intriguing. I can't wait to read it! Thank you for the chance!
