Guest Post with Author Cindi Madsen and Giveaway

Meet Cindi Madsen, author of Resisting the Hero.

Cindi Madsen sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music, dancing, and wishes summer lasted all year long.

She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children. She is the author of YA novels All the Broken Pieces and Demons of the Sun, adult contemporary romances Falling for Her Fiancé and Act Like You love Me, and the women's fiction novel Cinderella Screwed Me Over.

Places to find Cindi:

Top ten movie/TV Heroes

So in my new book, Resisting the Hero, Connor is a cop who’s also joined a SWAT team. His best friend and partner’s little sister just moved into town, and sparks fly the moment they meet. Too bad her brother wants him to stay away from her, and she’s sworn off hero types. Of course, as we know, there’s something about a hero that makes them hard to resist!

So today, I thought I’d talk about my top ten movie and TV actors who made being a hero look even better.

1. DJ Cotrona in GI Joe: Retaliation. Just google it. You’ll thank me later. He was a big inspiration for Connor.

2. Colin Farrell in SWAT. Have you heard the man talk? It’s like you know getting involved with him would be a bad idea, but between the looks and the accent… Sigh!

3. Josh Hartnett in Pearl Harbor or Black Hawk Down. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve had a crush on this guy since I was in high school. Throw a uniform on him and he becomes that much more irresistible.

4. Brad Pitt as a detective in Seven. It’s Brad Pitt. Nuff said.

5. Will Smith, Independence Day or Men in Black. It’s a win-win. In both movies he’s hilarious, and he makes an army uniform and a suit look good.

6. Michael Vartan in Alias. Oh, Michael Vaughn, the hours I spent wishing you’d kiss me. I mean Sydney Bristow.

7. Mark Wahlberg in The Departed. Actually The Departed is full of all kinds of eye candy. But with a lot of crooked cops, I like to root for the one who’s on the side of the law.

8. Ben Affleck in The Sum of All Fears or Pearl Harbor.

9. Chris Pine in the new Jack Ryan movie. (Disclaimer: I haven’t seen this yet, but Chris Pine is easy on the eyes and has a rugged charm about him.

10. Tom Hardy. Hot CIA operative in This Means War. Not only do we get to see him, he’s also got an irresistible accent, plus we get to see him and Chris Pine battle it out for Reece Witherspoon, using all kinds of dirty tactics.

So there’s my list. It was a hard job looking at all of those guys to decide who I’d pick. So is there anyone I left out? Any you’d like to add to the list? Feel free to comment, because I’d be happy to talk on this subject all day.

Resisting her brother’s best friend is futile…

Faith Fitzpatrick isn’t looking for a hero. Burned one too many times in the past, she’s now sworn them off completely. And when her brother’s best friend, Connor, convinces him to join the dangerous SWAT team, Faith has never been more anti-hero. What’s wrong with having a safe job? There’s nothing safe about Connor. Confident, sexy, and sporting a six-pack that should be illegal, he’s everything she doesn’t want.

When his best friend’s sister moves to town, local cop Connor Maguire knows he’s in trouble. Faith is feisty, funny, and talks trash like nobody’s business. She’s also his partner’s sister—and so totally off limits. Working on the Fall Festival together, they agree to a truce and become friends. But the more time Connor spends with Faith, the more he’s willing to risk the wrath of her brother. If he could only convince her to take a risk on him, too.
