Rachel Harris writes humorous love stories about sassy girls-next-door and the hot guys that make them swoon. Emotion, vibrant settings, and strong families are a staple in each of her books…and kissing. Lots of kissing.
A Cajun cowgirl now living in Houston, she firmly believes life’s problems can be solved with a hot, sugar-coated beignet or a thick slice of king cake, and that screaming at strangers for cheap, plastic beads is acceptable behavior in certain situations. She homeschools her two beautiful girls and watches way too much Food Network with her amazing husband. She writes young adult, new adult, and adult romances, and LOVES talking with readers!

Doing the Impossible: Choosing My ALL-TIME Favorite Book Couple
Seriously, I both love and loathe this topic. Choosing one all-time favorite couple who rocked my literary world…it’s impossible. I mean, I read books like crazy, and I love it all: young adult, new adult, adult, sweet, spicy, and in between. I love the best friends who become lovers, and I fall for the girls who make the so-called bad boys reveal their inner mushiness. It’s so hard to choose just one…so while I will bite the bullet and state one that stands just a bit above the others, I will also cheat and list a few other favorites =)
1. Lizzy and Darcy (Pride and Prejudice) – I mean, come on, how can I NOT pick this couple? I read this book every year without fail, devour any retelling or reimagining I come across, and own every movie version out there. They have to be my all-time favorite because they inspired my ninth-grade heart to love the classics. To dare to look beyond first impressions and find true love. And whenever I read them, I get to picture Colin Firth.
2. Beatrix and Christopher (Love in the Afternoon) – Classics out of the way, this couple tops my list. I adore all of Lisa Kleypas’ books, and I haven’t found a couple I haven’t fallen hard for…but there’s something special about Beatrix and Christopher. They made me laugh and my heart flutter. Their romance was slower, sweeter, and just so beyond words beautiful. No lie, when I finished this book, I hugged it. It makes me very happy. And Christopher is the perfect hero—flawed, yes, but protective, honorable, strong, and hot.
3. Amy and Avi (How to Ruin… series) – This was one of the first series I found when I fell back in love with reading for pleasure. And boy, did it deliver. Everyone knows Simone Elkeles for her Perfect Chemistry series, and trust me, I adore those boys, too. But this series is something special, and Israeli army hunk Avi stole my heart first. Funny, sexy, smart, and real, this couple jumps off the page. Love love LOVE these two!
4. Mia and Adam (If I Stay series) – I was an emotional mess after book one, but in the best possible way. I fell in love right along with these two. After book two, where we were completely in Adam’s head, I was a goner. Mia and Adam are a couple that stays with you. That teaches you what true commitment is, and that yes, you can discover it at a young age. They give you hope and faith and tons of swoony butterflies.
5. Lucy and Ethan (The Next Best Thing) – I’m a huge Kristan Higgins fan, and I know, choosing just one of her couples is so hard to do…but Lucy and Ethan are in another league for me. This story gripped me from page one. I fell hard for Ethan early on, cheered Lucy on while she got out of her own way and saw his awesome self, and felt a flutter in my heart with the special touches this story brings, in particular a touch of supernatural and a family bond that is unmatched. Chill bumps, people.
Even choosing these five couples was hard to do. I feel the need to say that Fern and Ambrose from Making Faces just missed my list, but oh my word, they rocked my world, too. See? I could probably go on forever (tee hee).
So, did any of your favorites make my list?
She harbors a secret yearning.
As a lover of animals and nature, Beatrix Hathaway has always been more comfortable outdoors than in the ballroom. Even though she participated in the London season in the past, the classic beauty and free-spirited Beatrix has never been swept away or seriously courted... and she has resigned herself to the fate of never finding love. Has the time come for the most unconventional of the Hathaway sisters to settle for an ordinary man—just to avoid spinsterhood?
He is a world-weary cynic.
Captain Christopher Phelan is a handsome, daring soldier who plans to marry Beatrix's friend, the vivacious flirt Prudence Mercer, when he returns from fighting abroad. But, as he explains in his letters to Pru, life on the battlefield has darkened his soul—and it's becoming clear that Christopher won't come back as the same man. When Beatrix learns of Pru's disappointment, she decides to help by concocting Pru's letters to Christopher for her. Soon the correspondence between Beatrix and Christopher develops into something fulfilling and deep... and when Christopher comes home, he's determined to claim the woman he loves. What began as Beatrix's innocent deception has resulted in the agony of unfulfilled love—and a passion that can't be denied

Angelle Prejean is in a pickle. Her family is expecting her to come home with a fiancé—a fiancé who doesn’t exist. Well, he exists, but he definitely has no idea Angelle told her mama they were engaged. Tattooed, muscled, and hotter than sin, Cane can reduce Angelle to a hot mess with one look—and leave her heart a mess if she falls for him. But when she ends up winning Cane at a charity bachelor auction, she knows just how to solve her fiancé problem.
Cane Robicheaux is no one’s prince. He doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love. When sweet, sultry-voiced Angelle propositions him, he hopes their little game can finally get her out of his head. He doesn’t expect her to break through all his barriers. But even as Angelle burrows deeper into his heart, he knows once their seven days are up, so is their ruse.
