I love Halloween. Not the creepy, horror movie style masks or decorations, but I love the scarecrows, the pumpkins, the fall leaves, the scent of wood smoke on the air, and the chill that means it’s time to break out the jackets.
For me, Halloween is also the heralding in of traditions. It’s drinking hot chocolate, especially the chocolate and raspberry flavor. It’s snuggling under a quilt and watching a favorite movie. It’s also buying the candy early and refilling the bowl too many times to count before the actual day, LOL.
I like to try a new Halloween recipe every year. This year, it’s graveyard cupcakes and butter-beer.
But every year, without fail, there are three things that make Halloween a lot of fun.
1.) Going to the pumpkin patch. Walking through mounds of pumpkins and choosing the best one, then lugging it home to carve it is a tradition we have. And we try to come up with a new face for the pumpkin every time we carve one.
2.) Giving candy to the trick or treaters. Seeing the joy on the faces of the kids as they hold out their goody bag is priceless.
3.) Candy sale afterward!
I have a new release coming out in December that’s set in October. Stealing the Bachelor is Ann and Eric’s story, two characters who fall in love and will end up celebrating their own Halloween traditions.
She needs his help, but he has a price...Having missed out on the "drop-dead-gorgeous" gene in her family, Ann Snyder decides to kick a little butt in the business world instead. That is, until her skeezy manager's "side business" has the FDA raiding her chocolate shop. Now Ann's in huge trouble...and the only person who can help her is the adorkable guy who completely humiliated her in high school.Lawyer Eric Maxwell has been in love with Ann as long as he can remember. He figured he never stood a chance-don't the beautiful girls always prefer the bad boys to the nerds? So he makes Ann a deal. He'll provide her with free legal services...if she'll move in and help transform him from nerd-without-a-clue to bona fide bad boy.And once the transition is complete, all he has to do is prove that he's the only bachelor for her...

DeleteHeroes who are nerds are fun to read. Hope your Halloween was a fun one.
ReplyDeleteI love the nerdy heroes in books and in movies too. I thought the movie Never Been Kissed did a great job of having a female nerd as the heroine.
