ARC Review: From This Day Forward by Lauren Layne

This is a nice introduction to Lauren Layne’s newest series The Wedding Belles. It is just a novella only about 100 pages you can probably read it in one sitting but it is so cute. Lauren Layne packs everything into this small package; romance and angst, character intros and development not to mention her classic sassy and snarky humor to make this prequel a fantastic read.

When Alexis Morgan, the powerhouse behind the Wedding Belles, asks Leah to pick up a last minute job Leah couldn’t be happier to take the job. I mean who in their right mind would turn down the job of photographer for the former first daughter’s wedding. However there is a catch, it’s such a big job Alexis had to call in another photographer to help unfortunately for Leah it’s the one person who broke her heart. Jason Rhodes and Leah McHale have a past a short one but one that burned bright and hot; it all changed when Leah believed Jason betrayed her. Now a year later Leah is still upset with Jason and Jason wants another chance. But Jason has some issues he has to deal with and maybe working with the one woman he has ever loved can help him come to terms with it. Leah thinks that maybe one last night will make everything better and all the old hurts stop.

Overall, this was a real cute one. It was slightly different from the other books of hers I read I think maybe just because it was so short, but no way does it away from the story. The book is definitely a great start to what is hopefully going to be another great series from Lauren Layne.
