Bestselling author Terry Spear is known for her fantastic paranormal romance novels, including Between a Wolf and Hard Place, available April 4th! But what paranormal stories does she enjoy most when she’s not hard at work on her next book? Read on for Terry’s favorites!

Starman—A widow meets up with an alien, and he leaves her with the gift of a child before the dying starman must leave their earth to save himself. It’s a case of star-crossed lovers, she can’t live on his world any more than he can on hers, but he leaves her with a son and a silver sphere—her son will know what to do with it. It’s like a werewolf story in which the heroine is afraid of the wolf, but falls in love, and in their case, can’t be together. Very touching.

The Princess Bride—There are so many cute parts of this story, I don’t know where to begin. He’s a laborer working for her family, and she’s a princess destined to marry the king. But when the laborer becomes the “Dread Pirate Roberts,” he returns for her to save her from a fate worse than death. At one point, he is dead—correction, MOSTLY dead. And so some cohorts bring the hero back to save the day. They are just as entertaining. One is determined to take revenge against the man who murdered his father. And the other is a giant of a man who is so much fun.

Dracula—This one makes me want the vampire to have a HEA also. I don’t remember the name of one particular version, but it’s set in the old country, and Count Dracula is being forced to send his people to the Turks to use as slaves. When the Turkish ruler says he wants Dracula to give up his only son, he refuses. The only way to fight the Turks’ massive forces is for him to go to a vampire that lives in a cave, and by doing so, he becomes one of the vampires, but with strengths untold. The other is released from the cave. He loses his beloved wife, but saves his son, and frees his people from the Turks’ tyranny.

In Silver Town, the secrets run deep…

Alpha werewolf Brett Silver has an ulterior motive when he donates a prized family heirloom to the Silver Town hotel. Ellie MacTire owns the place with her sisters, and he’s out to get her attention.

Ellie is even more special than Brett knows. She’s a wolf-shifter with a unique ability to commune with the dead. Ellie has been ostracized, so she protects herself and those she loves by revealing nothing—not even when strange and dangerous things begin to happen in Silver Town. And especially not to the devastatingly handsome and generous wolf who’s determined to win her over…
