My Favorite Things Event with Megan Hart

Megan Hart writes books. Some of them use a lot of bad words, but most of the other words are okay. She can't live without music, the internet, or the ocean, but she and soda have achieved an amicable uncoupling. She can't stand the feeling of corduroy or velvet, and modern art leaves her cold. She writes a little bit of everything from horror to romance, though she’s best known for writing erotic fiction that sometimes makes you cry. Find out more about her at meganhart.com, or if you really want to get crazy, follow her on Twitter at twitter.com/megan_hart and Facebook at www.facebook.com/readinbed.

Megan Hart’s Five Favorite Things

The Ocean – Going to the beach is my favorite escape. The sand, the smell of the water, the sound of the waves. I love it. The ocean soothes my soul. I can’t get enough of it.

Glitter – sparkles! Shiny! I love wearing glitter makeup, in my hair, on my shoes. Yeah, yeah, I know it gets all over the place. But what can I say, I like to shine.

Unicorns – I’ve loved them since I was a kid. One of the first stories I ever wrote was called Chauncy and Aurora, a Tale of Two Unicorns.

Rainbows – They go along with rainbows and glitter. I have prisms hanging in my windows, and they light up my room with rainbows when the sun shines just right. The sight of them makes my heart happy.

Zombies – They’re my favorite movie monster. Something about zombies scares and thrills me at the same time. I’ll always watch a good zombie flick or read a zombie book, especially if there’s a fresh take on the idea of what makes the dead rise. I wrote a zombie serial, The Resurrected, and it’s one of my favorite pieces. (Find it here: http://amzn.to/2oqY83n)

This sexy romantic drama from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Megan Hart explores the tangled lives—and loves—of childhood friends.

Everyone knew Alicia Harrison’s marriage to Ilya Stern wouldn’t last. They’d grown up on a remote stretch of Quarry Street, where there were two houses, two sets of siblings, and eventually, a tangled mess of betrayal, longing, and loss. Tragedy catapulted Allie and Ilya together, but divorce—even as neighbors—has been relatively uncomplicated.

Then Ilya’s brother, Nikolai, comes home for their grandmother’s last days. He’s the guy who teased and fought with Allie, infuriated her, then fled town without a good-bye. Now Niko makes her feel something else entirely—a rush of connection and pure desire that she’s been trying to quench since one secret kiss years ago. Niko’s not sticking around. She’s not going to leave. And after all that’s happened between their families, this can’t be anything more than brief pleasure and a bad idea.

But the lies we tell ourselves can’t compete with the truths our hearts refuse to let go…

  1. Reading your list I'd think you are my middle daughter! Ever since she was little she loved sparkles, rainbows, unicorns and the ocean. Not sure so much with the zombies...maybe she watches them at college now.

    1. Yes. I have a fish tank in my apartment that just bubbles all the time with the sound of running water. I love it.

  5. I love the ocean! Being from the East Coast, going to the beach on the weekends was was part of growing up. I could sit there for hours just staring at the waves.
Have you gotten your Unicorn Frappuccino from Starbucks yet?

    1. I have not. 1. I live in the middle of East Nowhere, so I do not actually even *have* a Starbucks. 2. I love Unicorns but the sight of that drink makes me feel like my teeth would fall out with the first sip! Pretty to see, but too much sugar!
