Meet Bliss author, Tracy March.
Award-winning author Tracy March writes romantic thrillers influenced by her career in the pharmaceutical field, and her interest in science and politics. She also writes lighthearted romances inspired by her real-life happily ever after.
Always up for travel and adventure, Tracy has flown in a stunt plane, snowmobiled on the Continental Divide, ziplined in the Swiss Alps, and been chased by a bull in the mountains of St. Lucia. She loves Nationals baseball, Saturday date nights, and Dairy Queen Blizzards—and rarely goes a day without Diet Coke and Cheez-Its.
Tracy lives in Yorktown, Virginia, with her superhero husband who works for NASA. They recently spent two years living in Washington D.C., and enjoy visiting often—especially when the Nats are in town.
Places to find Tracy:
I Never Dreamed I’d Write Romance!
Yep, you read that right! You see, I have an alter-ego. Same name, different personality. Thankfully, both of me get along well, so that’s an extra stressor I don’t have to deal with! I think it has something to do with being a Cancer, on the cusp of Gemini. I’m the crab…and the twins. Read on. I promise this might make sense!
My thriller-writing alter-ego got to work about nine years ago, inspired by suspense authors like David Baldacci, Sandra Brown, Tami Hoag, and Tana French. I set out to write stories about dastardly people with evil hearts and minds, and strong heroines that stood up to them—and I did. My romantic thriller, Girl Three, was the work of that tough outer-shell-of-the-Cancer-crab part of me. After it sold to Entangled Publishing several years ago, there were some unexpected delays with the release date, so my editor encouraged me to write something for one of Entangled’s romance lines that they’d release in the meantime.
“Romance?” Hard-shell-crab me thought. “You have no idea how to write romance!”
Then the soft, squishy inside of crab-me whispered, “Sexy heroes. Sassy stories. Happily ever afters…”
“No dead bodies?” Hard-shell-crab me asked, scrunching her nose. “This ought to be fun to watch.”
I was never one to back away from a challenge, even of myself. So I indulged my swoony-romance-loving alter-ego and set out to write my first romance—The Practice Proposal. My sexy pro-baseball-player hero Cole Collins softened my hard shell in no time flat. And making sure he found his true love turned out to be even more exciting than discovering a dead body! (Although I admit I have to revert to my hard shell and kill some people in my thrillers once in a while.)
Dead people aside, I was instantly addicted to writing romance—enough that I titled my first series Suddenly Smitten, and set out to write the next book. Tempted in the Tropics had me smiling every day, hanging out with Paige Ellerbee, the quirky, laugh-out-loud heroine who never expected to find love in small-town Maple Creek. Her first conversation with the super-hot new doctor in town starts a feud between them, but when they end up together at a wedding in sultry St. Lucia, neither of them can resist the heat between them. This story took me to an island paradise where I got to orchestrate two awesome people falling in love! What an awesome job I have!
“Remember murder and mayhem?” Hard-shell me mutters.
Of course I do. And I’m busy working on my next thriller now, A Shot of Red, which releases next April. Yet swoony-romance-loving, squishy-inside me can’t wait to write the next Suddenly Smitten romance, due out next March!
When I’m writing romance, my life seems brighter and my smile seems wider. If I’m dreaming, please don’t wake me!
What about you? Do you have reading alter-egos? If so, what romance sub-genres to you like, and which is your favorite?
Thanks so much to Danielle for hosting me here today, and best of luck to everyone in the giveaway! If you’re loving this Romance is Bliss event as much as I am, how about joining the Bliss Book Club where we read an awesome Bliss story every month? For November, we’re reading The Practice Proposal! We’re looking forward to a lively discussion on November 20th. Hope to see you there!
The only thing they agree on is the sultry heat between them.
Paige Ellerbee’s life is far from perfect after moving back to small-town Maple Creek—there’s her struggling bakery, Sweet Bee’s; her aging father; and the fact she’s practically the only single girl in town. But when Lane Anderson, the town’s hot—and young!—new doctor, moves in next door, she wouldn’t mind receiving some intensive care…until their first conversation starts a feud.
Lane came to Maple Creek to lay low after inadvertently being associated with a pill-prescribing scandal. When the gorgeous blonde next door asks for his help with a program that could raise eyebrows, he has to refuse. He's been burned in the past when blinded by love, yet Paige's feisty personality has his blood running hot.
When a little matchmaking lands Lane at Paige’s best friend’s wedding in St. Lucia, suddenly the romantic island vibe tempts them to kiss and make up. A temporary truce might be just what they both want—but forever love might be more than they can agree on.

I love romantic suspense! I always try to figure out the mystery part before the end. Im usually wrong! lol But I love trying! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
DeleteI love romantic suspense and thrillers, too. Figuring out the mystery is what hooks me. My favorite authors are the ones that can fool me until the end. I just love clever twists and turns in a story. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Happy reading! :)
I love Romantic Suspence, Chik-lit, Erotica, Historicals, the whole gammit! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer,
DeleteIt's awesome that you like so many sub-genres. You'll never have too few choices of what to read, that's for sure! It's nice to see you here, and good luck in the giveaway! :)
Hi Tracy! I do have reading alter egos. It depends on my mood and what I have been reading. For example, too many of the same genre in a row and I get a little sick of them. Rom Suspense and Contemp Romance are my favorite genres but I can only take so many drug dealers or terrorists in a row. I need to mix it up with some sweet romance or hot and sexy romance. And every once in awhile I like to read about shifters or fallen angles that really take me out of reality. I love that there are so many books out there to read and fit my moods!
ReplyDeleteYou totally crack me up, Amy! "I can only take so many drug dealers or terrorists in a row." LOL! Good idea to mix it up. I'm the same way. And sometimes when I pick up a book that I'd never expect myself to read, and actually read it, I find a genre I really like! Thanks so much for stopping by, and for the laugh! :)
DeleteHi Tracy! Oh, lordy do I ever have alter egos! For every book I read, I get so "into" it that I feel a part of the story. Most of the time I read historicals, contemporary romance, and some romantic suspense. I like to mix it up a bit once in a while, though, with even more genres. As long as something is well written, I'm reading it--and getting so drawn into the story that I almost feel like I'm in the story...and ignoring my boring reality!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra,
DeleteSounds like you have an awesome imagination. It's fun to get so drawn into the story that you feel like you're in it, especially when there are super-sexy heroes...right? ;) Thanks so much for stopping in and commenting!
Hi Tracy. I love thrillers. I think I've read everything Agatha Christie ever wrote. I'd be hopeless at penning one. Your romance books are awesome. I loved Tempted in the Tropics.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Hayson! We have a mutual admiration society going here because I think your romance books are awesome, too! I just finished Winning the Boss's Heart and totally swooned over Mason. Yummy! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteI love contemporary, historical and erotic. Give me my happy ending and I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
DeleteI love the happily ever afters, too! :)
I like Paranormal romance the most! It has no rules so anything can happen!
ReplyDeleteI love paranormal romance!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
My first favorite romance read is paranormal romance but I also love erotic, humor, contemporary, and suspense!
ReplyDeleteBarrie
I read contemporary romance, of course. But I also read romantic suspense and paranormal romance.
ReplyDeleteI love to read romance, in nearly every genre! My favorites are contemporary, romantic suspense and paranormal.
ReplyDeleteIf I had an "alter-ego", it'd have to be the side of me that discovered the works of Jaci Burton, Shayla Black and Laura Leigh this past year. Never in a million years thought I'd be devouring their books. lol
