ARC Review: Sweet Sinful Nights by Lauren Blakely

Sweet Sinful Nights is the first book in Lauren Blakely's new Sinful Nights series. There will be four books in the series, and each of them is a standalone. Fans of Lauren's will recognize Brent in Sweet Sinful Nights as Clay's brother from her Seductive Nights series. Though you do not need to have read those books first to enjoy this one, I would highly recommend that series!

Ten years ago, Brent Nichols let the love of his life walk away after giving her an ultimatum. He has always regretted how things turned out for them and he never stopped loving her. Though he tried to find her over the years, Shannon Paige-Prince all but vanished. But when his company sets up a meeting with one of the world's top choreography companies, he never expects for her to be the owner, and to also be going by a different name. Now that Brent has found Shannon again, he will do whatever it takes to make sure that she doesn't slip through his fingers once again. But can Shannon forgive Brent for breaking her heart all those years ago, and take a chance on the future that they should have had all along?

I really liked these two. It was clear that love and chemistry were never their problems. Shannon and Brent were really great together, but they were also really young when thing got messed up between them. Brent had made a decision that he should have discussed with Shannon first, and he also should have realized just how important their relationship was. Shannon had also made some mistakes as well though, and it was easy to see that they both had some blame in where things went wrong. I really enjoyed them getting to know one another again though, and their connection was as strong as ever once they started to spend time together again. I will say that I thought that things progressed a little quickly for these two as far as their feelings went. They didn't get physical right away and that felt more natural, but I did think that they were able to basically get back together rather quickly considering. I wanted to see them take a little time, and I felt like Brent needed to grovel a bit more than Shannon made him.

Overall, this was a good story and I liked the characters. Lauren Blakely never disappoints, and I really enjoy her books. She has a great writing style, and I always find myself instantly drawn in. Sweet Sinful Nights was as steamy and sexy as I have come to expect from Lauren Blakely, but it was also emotional as well. This book was really easy to get into and I honestly can't wait to see where this series goes from here. I highly recommend Lauren's books, and this one was another winner from her.
