Hi everyone! I’m Jessica, and I’m thrilled to be able stop by Ramblings with this Chick today for the Surf, Sand, and Books event!

I personally have a love/hate relationship with summer. As with my Enclave warriors, I live in South Carolina, and summers are brutal in this state. Especially central South Carolina. The slogan for our town, yes, “Famously Hot”. Not funny. This month we’ve already burst past the one hundred degree mark on the thermometer. Ouch! So while I love my shorts, T-shirts, and flip-flops, the blazing heat…yeah, anything over eighty-five is just too hot for me.

My favorite summer read, though, this year has been Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series. Oh man, where have I been living? Under a rock? Well, not really, I’ve just had my head down working on my next book. But this summer, I got the chance to open my Kindle for a little while and fell in love with Gideon Cross. Sigh. This series is so addictive.

Speaking of series, I’m a forever fan of Karen Marie Moning. Burned is on my end table waiting for me to crack open and dive in. That one will be my reward for finishing my next book. This series and its newest release is just too delicious of a prize for me to savor at the moment. Because once I go in, I know I won’t come out until I reach the end, and I have work to do. I know you feel me and understand.
