A Blissfully Spooky Halloween with Ophelia London

USA Today bestselling author Ophelia London was born and raised among the redwood trees in beautiful northern California. Once she was fully educated, she decided to settle in Florida, but her car broke down in Texas and she’s lived in Dallas ever since. A cupcake and treadmill aficionado (obviously those things are connected), she spends her time watching arthouse movies and impossibly trashy TV, while living vicariously through the characters in the books she writes. Ophelia is the author of AIMEE & THE HEARTTHROB, the Definitely Maybe, Perfect Kisses and Abby Road series. Visit her books HERE, but don’t call when The Vampire Diaries (or Dawson’s Creek) is on. #PaceyLove

A world without chocolate… Talk about spoooooky!

Hi gang! I have a brand new Bliss novel coming your way in November. It’s called KISSING HER CRUSH. Not to play favorites, but this might be the coolest book I’ve ever written.

Why?

One word: Chocolate.

This whole new series is set in the mega-fabulous town of Hershey, PA. And what’s more? Natalie, the heroine of our story, actually works for Hershey as a food chemist in their “Sweets & Refreshments” lab. Yes, there actually is such a job. And aren’t you happy to be living in a world where careers like that exist? I know I am.

Which got me thinking…

Now, I won’t go as far as asking you what if chocolate didn’t exist. That’s just mean. But what if my story didn’t take place in Hershey, and Natalie was a food chemist for say, Campbell or something. Don’t get me wrong, who doesn’t love soup? But it doesn’t pack the same sugary-sweet punch, does it? It’d also mean that, instead of sexy hero Luke being sent by the Feds to debunk Natalie’s chocolate theory, Luke and Nat would be arguing over tomato basil or too much salt in the chicken broth. Excuse me while I snore. We’d also be missing out on the chocotaly taste tests, their chocolate food fight, and that one time when Natalie dabs a smear of melted chocolate down her neck and dares Luke to lick it off.

Seriously, right? I can’t even think about KISSING HER CRUSH without also thinking of chocolate and how much I eat it and love it and need it. Yes, I might’ve gained a few pounds while writing this book because I couldn’t keep my hands out of the Hershey’s Miniatures bag, but it was for a good cause, right?

So let’s all take a moment to hug the nearest cocoa plant. They deserve it!

If you can’t wait until Halloween to get your hands on some sweet treats, I’m giving away a $10 gift card earmarked for your favorite chocolate treat. To enter, in the comments, tell us what that treat is.

He’s sweet trouble...

Natalie Holden wants three things: To be the best chocolate chemist in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to prove her chocolate recipe can help teenage depression, and to get over gorgeous Luke Elliott, the guy she’s had a crush on since birth. Unfortunately, he’s the microbiologist set to debunk her chocolate study. And, of course, he looks more delicious than ever!

Luke Elliott is still bitter over his divorce. Work is his passion now, and landing a huge promotion is just what he needs. What he doesn’t need is a crackpot trying to prove that chocolate cures depression. The last thing he expects is for the crackpot to be Natalie Holden—his “what if” girl from high school—or that she’d still tempt the hell out of him.

They may not see eye-to-eye on her project, but they can’t deny the explosive chemistry that keeps pulling them together. Even when it risks their jobs and the very different futures they both want…
