Falling into Romance…Sneak-Attack Style
Once upon a time, a sneaky little girl loved reading. She loved her mama. And she loved reading her mama’s books. The books her mama read were really pretty, too…they had beautiful women on the covers, cool titles, and were bright red.
Yep, this little girl was me…and those red spine books were of course romance novels. I loved my romance even as a child, especially stories written by Diana Palmer. Her Long, Tall Texans series? I still draw inspiration from those books. Considering my first full sentence to my grandmother was about my favorite couple on Guiding Light, this wasn’t that much of a stretch. What did make this interesting, however, was my need to continue reading these stories during recess at school—my Catholic school, mind you—and the sly methods I took to do so. Mainly hiding my book within the pages of another more school-friendly read. Hey, what can I say? I had to see my couples get their HEAs!
Now that I’m an adult, my love affair with romance novels is just as strong, but luckily I don’t have to hide anymore. In fact, I flaunt it, recommending my favorites to anyone who would listen. Heck, I even write my own romance novels now. I’m living the dream, hopefully inspiring others to follow their own, and I owe it all to my mama’s enormous Harlequin collection =)
One ring plus one wild night equals one crazy love
Sherry Robicheaux loves men. She loves love. And she loves an adventure. So when she meets a mysterious man while working backstage at a country music concert in Vegas, she’s all about what happens in Vegas staying there.
Country music superstar Tyler Blue just wants a weekend of anonymity…though there’s something about the spunky waitress with the streaks of purple hair that tempts him like no other. Until the next morning, when they both wake up with fuzzy memories…and rings on their fingers.
Convincing Sherry to maintain the ruse for his public image isn’t the hardest part—it’s reminding himself that their time spent playing husband and wife in her small town of Magnolia Springs can’t last. Tyler’s first love will always be music—and the road is no place for a sweet downhome girl.
