She worked as a social worker with at-risk youth before becoming a therapist in private practice. The clients she works with are children and teenagers, and her novels deal with issues relevant to young and new adults in love, transition, or crisis. She is also an award winning columnist for the Richmond News. She currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia with her husband.

I actually live on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, so beach reads are my favourite thing. This is me in the water near the Gulf Islands in British Columbia, Canada where I have a cottage. I love summer because where I live, the days are really long from May through August. Right now, it stays light out until 10:00 o’clock at night, so plenty of time for outdoorsy things like hiking, kayaking, or lounging around reading a book.
