Anna fell in love with historical romances—and all those dashing Regency heroes—while living in London, where she studied literature and theatre. She loves to travel, fly airplanes, and hike, and when she isn’t busy writing her next novel, she can usually be found in her garden, fussing over her roses.
In IF THE DUKE DEMANDS, Miranda Hodgkins and Sebastian Carlisle strike a deal—she’ll help him find a proper duchess if he helps her to capture his brother’s heart. Yet as the London season goes on, they realize that their true love is much closer than either of them ever imagined. But Sebastian needs a proper duchess, and Miranda, the orphaned niece of one of his tenant farmers and an orphanage manageress, can never be what society—and his father—expects of him. When Miranda believes that he’s set on marrying a woman who isn’t her, can Sebastian say or do anything to convince her of how she is and how very right they two of them are together?
Check out Miranda and Sebastian's love story in If the Duke Demands.
Up For Grabs:WHEN A SIMPLE SEDUCTION...Sebastian Carlisle, Duke of Trent, has inherited more than a dukedom--he's been saddled with the responsibility of ensuring his family's legacy. Determined to find a proper wife to be his duchess, he’s planned for dowries and settlements, eventually an heir. But he certainly never planned on finding a beautiful, masked woman draped across his bed, begging to be seduced…and very nearly succeeding until he discovers that his seductress is none other than Miranda Hodgkins, the flighty, free-spirited niece of one of his tenant farmers who has mistakenly sneaked into the wrong bedroom....PROVES ANYTHING BUT SIMPLEMadly in love with Robert Carlisle since he shared her first kiss, Miranda has planned a seduction designed to make him fall in love with her, only for it to all go horribly wrong when the man behind the mask reveals himself to be not Robert but Sebastian. The two strike an agreement—Sebastian will help her with Robert, and Miranda will help him find a proper duchess. But once in London, Sebastian is distracted from his quest by Miranda, and he soon finds himself sabotaging her attempts to catch his brother…in order to keep her for himself.

I really enjoyed reading the character love letters today. Enjoyed the blurb too.
ReplyDeleteHi, Karen! I'm so glad you enjoyed them. They were so much fun to write! Especially Sebastian's. I love writing him so wicked...
DeleteI read and reviewed HOW I MARRIED A MARRIED A MARQUESS and DUKES ARE FOREVER. I will also read and review IF THE DUKE DEMANDS. Now, to complete Anna's books, I would love to win a copy of ALONG CAME A ROGUE so I can read and review it too.
ReplyDeleteKeeping my fingers crossed for you! I hope you enjoyed all the books!
DeleteI enjoy reading your books. Where do you get the inspiration for each of your characters you write about?

Great question! The answer: it depends! Usually I come up with the setting first and then wonder what kind of people would live in such a house, village, part of London, etc. For IF THE DUKE DEMANDS, I actually first came up with what I thought would be a great first line: "As Miranda Hodgkins stared at the masked man standing at the foot of the bed, she knew this night would end in her complete ruination. Exactly what she hoped for." And then it just went out from there!
DeleteHi Anna,
ReplyDeleteI just visited your site and enjoyed reading blurbs of your books. ALONG CAME A ROGUE appeals to me greatly. Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day to you, too! I hope you enjoyed the letters. I've got lots of wonderful bits and deleted scenes on my website, so I'm so glad you stopped by.
DeleteExcellent excerpt! Can't wait to read If the Duke Demands.
ReplyDeleteThank you! (I have to admit that I fell in love with Sebastian while writing it. SIGH.)
DeleteYou had me crying with the first letter.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry! :( I kinda positioned these letters to be right toward the end of the book, right before the last chapter. It's the dark moment, definitely. But they end up happily ever after (I promise!).
DeleteThanks for the giveaway.

DeleteI hope this is a print copy
ReplyDeleteYes! They all are. The only book I have which is digital only is ONCE A SCOUNDREL, but print copies are coming very soon!
DeleteThanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome! Happy Valentine's Day!♥ ♥ ♥
DeleteSwoon! Oh Anna I think that was most romantic thing I ever read. Thank you
ReplyDeleteAwwww! Linda, you made my entire weekend! ♥ Thank you so much!!
DeleteI love when the hero chases after his love despite society's expectations.
ReplyDeleteTina, me too! And when women do the same.
DeleteI loved this thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome, Mary! I'm glad you enjoyed the letters. They were so much fun to write.
DeleteWhat kind of roses are your favorite?
ReplyDeleteOh, what a fabulous question!! My fav rose right now are my Don Juans. I've got 4 of them and LOVE how velvety dark red the petals are and the scent. I've just ordered more Lady Emma Hamilton and Lady of Shallot from David Austin, so I can't wait for those to arrive. And I planted three heirloom roses last month that I can't wait to see how they blossom. So many roses, so little time...
Deletewow, thanks for the response. i will have to google those roses to see how they look. thanks!
DeleteI hope you do! I always request the annual David Austin rose catalogue just so I can look through all the beautiful pictures of the roses...and dream.
DeleteWhat heartfelt letters...so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I had so much fun writing them...especially Sebastian's. Had to let the rake in him come out just a bit. ;)

Hi, Carol! Thank you so much for your kind words and for stopping by to say hello. Miranda brings out the true man in him...not the duke, but the flesh and blood man beneath the title. It was so much fun to write their story!
DeleteThanks for the letters and giveaway.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Kim! I'm so glad you enjoyed them.
DeleteI love your novels! Can't wait to read this one too !
ReplyDeleteaka...MARCY LYNN STRAHAN
DeleteHi, Marcy! Thank you so much for your sweet words! I'm so glad you love the novels. I have so much fun writing them. I get to be all those wonderful heroines and share all their adventures. I hope you love IF THE DUKE DEMANDS. It's my favorite one that I've written so far. (I'm in love in with Sebastian...SIGH!)
DeleteOh I have to add both of these to my TBR list! Oh the love letters are so touching!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Laura! I'm so glad you enjoyed the letters...and I hope you *love* the books!
DeleteI want to get to the part of the book where Sebastian rips off Miranda's dress; at least that's what he says to her in a letter. The art of letter-writing has fallen off, but my mom sends letters and gets letters back in return. She also believes in Thank You notes and expects to be given one for gifts sent.
ReplyDeleteHe does it twice in the book, actually...but not with his teeth, although very nearly the first time! ♥
DeleteI heart Anna And she has some of the best covers
ReplyDeleteNatasha, you are so sweet to say so! I wish I could take credit for the covers, but I'm not that talented. Have you seen the cover for WHEN THE SCOUNDREL SINS yet? Such a beautiful red dress!
DeleteThanks for the letters and the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome! I hope you enjoyed them! ♥
DeleteMistaken identities! I can't wait to see what happens! 😉
ReplyDeleteHijinks ensue! ;) But it all works out well in the end!
DeleteOh, dear. Another new-to-me author to get lost in the books of ..... Sigh. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!!
ReplyDeleteP. S.: Thanks for the opportunity to possibly win!!
