Meet Karen-Anne Stewart, author of Ash to Steele.
Karen-Anne Stewart has always adored reading and has now fallen in love with writing. Her written works are The Rain Trilogy: Saving Rain, Healing Rain, and After the Rain. Her debut novel, Saving Rain: The First Novel in The Rain Trilogy, was a nominee for the Book Junkie’s Choice Awards and is a nominee for the 2013 RONE Awards.
When Karen-Anne isn’t writing, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, and visiting new places. She fuels her addiction of creating new stories by her only other addiction, caffeine, and listening to a myriad of musical genres. Tucked away near the Blue Ridge Mountains, Karen-Anne lives with her husband, daughter, two dogs, and their cat. She plans on writing new adult romance as long as her fingers maintain dexterity.

Ash to Steele Dream Cast:
Breck – Kellan Lutz or Trevor Donovan would make a great Breck. They both are sexy, got the whole ‘bad boy’ vibe going on, and those eyes are beyond captivating.
Emma – In my opinion, Lily Collins is perfect for Emma, down to the sweet, innocent look, but with a quiet strength sparkling through her.
Gavin – Chris Hemsworth…oh my, yes! Enough said ;).
Jess – Indiana Evans is who I picture for Jess.
Jason – Alex Pettyfer is who I would cast for Jess’ boyfriend.
Justin – Mark Salling would be my pick for Justin, Emma’s ex-boyfriend.
Elise – For Elise, I would cast Elizabeth Gillies.
My Favorite Characteristics in a hero and heroine:
I’m such a sucker for a bad boy with a good heart, which is the epitome of Breck. For me to fall in love with a hero, he has to be strong, sexy, willing to go through hell and back for his girl, and have an edge that proves he’s his own man, but will live and die for the one he loves. I’m not asking for much, am I? ;)
I love writing strong female characters. Emma is shy and can be timid, but underneath her sweet, southern manners is a quiet strength that flows through her veins, and a not-so-quiet strength that rears its head when the need arises.
When Breck and Emma meet, it is definitely not love at first sight; they hate each other. Through the hate burns an undeniable desire just waiting to explode, even though Emma fights like hell to keep the flames from igniting. I adore a love story that slowly consumes until there’s no denying the hero and heroine belong to each other and no one else.
A Couple of Fun Facts About Ash to Steele:
One of my favorite titles in Ash to Steele is “Pissed – In Both Ways.” There’s a scene where Emma is getting drunk for the first time after a fight with Breck, and she muses over how ‘pissed’ means drunk in Gavin’s culture while it means ticked-off in hers. Here is a sneak peek:
Stumbling backwards, Breck grabs my arms, pulling me towards him, “Easy, Em.”
When my nose brushes against his neck and I smell his intoxicating scent, I almost forgot that I’m mad at him. Almost. Jerking my arms free, I go to walk away, but he grabs me again, stopping me.
“Emma, we need to talk.”
“I have nothing to say to you! Now, as you so eloquently put it earlier, get your damn hands off me.”
Breck glances at Gavin, “How much has she had to drink?”
“Oh, she’s pretty pissed.”
Shoving two of my fingers in Breck’s face, I glare at him, “And, he’s referring to both meanings of that word.”

While writing Ash to Steele, I fell in love with all of the characters and it saddened me when I wrote the last words in the final chapter. Gavin is a supporting character originally meant to have a much minor role, but he imprinted on my heart like Breck did, and his character became a much more prominent role. I’m thrilled to say that he will have his own story in 2015. I hope you fall in love with Breck and Emma’s story =).
Emma
Who I am and all I believe is marred with just one glance into angry, steel blue eyes. He seems to control my air, my ability to breathe. He makes me crave everything I know is a sin. Pure becomes tainted and lines are blurred. It’s my fault; I’m the one who isn’t strong enough. I’ve been damaged…broken. Breck’s words haunt me…’There’s a consequence for every choice you make.’
Breck
I’ve had so many women I can’t even remember over half of their names, but none of them are mine; I make damn sure of that. I take what I desire and never look back. I don’t need or want anyone, ever…not until I met Emma. Those eyes bore into what’s left of my soul and her touch sears me, weakens me. I want to hate her for that. She is my ruin…my sweetest hell.
