Romance Book Casting Call with Jenn LeBlanc and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the Casting Call the fabulous Jenn LeBlanc. Jenn is seriously one of my favorite people and I lurve her very much. In fact I want to be just like her when I grow up. =) Jenn is super duper awesome and it's just not an event on the blog without her stopping by.

Welcome to the Casting Call Jenn!

Jenn is a novelist and photographer born, raised and living in the lee of the great Rocky Mountains. Her illustrated Novel THE RAKE AND THE RECLUSE was originally released in February of 2011 to rave reviews and snarky comments. She recently revised the entire novel, turning it into a six-part serial with all new material and the never before released story of Perry, The Rake.

Well, since I only technicaly have the one book, I’m going to split it into The Rake and The Recluse. HA!! That’s the title (I know I’m a dork) so let’s chat about The Rake first. This one is easy because I would cast Derek as my hero. Done deal. He is very Perry and I would want him to play Perry in the movie.

Now his heroine, that’s a bit more difficult. I have to find some fancy actress who can pull off damaged and doesn’t mind being scarred up. Charlize Theron doesn’t mind getting ugly for a role, but she is an Amazon so that won’t work. She is pretty thought right? I think she is a little badass.

No, she won’t work. I need someone meek, and sweet with a streak... The first that comes to mind is Audrey Tautou. She is fabulous and has that sweet look down to a science. Now here’s someone that might be a little out of the blue Emma Watson. I think she is an incredibly versatile actress. Wait, I’ll ask Derek who he would want for his leading lady...hold on a sec...

...so Derek doesn’t know who he wants for a leading lady. Go figure, he loves everyone. Such a nice guy.

Therefore we’ll stick with Amelie or Hermione! Oh they sound good together.

Happy blogoversary ladies!!!

A woman out of time.
A man stifled by propriety.
A nemesis determined to take her away.
A brother to the rescue.

How will a powerful Duke deal with a woman who doesn't know her place? How will a woman used to the 21st century survive in time where she is considered property?

Francine Larrabee woke up on the wrong side of the century. She was fairly certain she went to sleep in her own comfy bed, but she doesn’t quite seem to be there now. Only adding to her problems is that she has no voice, is constantly being glowered at by a large, stunning man who is obsessed with propriety, and she is apparently betrothed to another horrid little man, determined to ruin her, and any other girls that get in his way.
How does she find herself in the past, when she couldn’t even find herself in her present? How does a self sufficient businesswoman survive in a time when women were still considered property for the whole of their lives and what is she going to do with this man who draws her to him so fiercely.

  1. Jenn, these are good choices. I 'm more for Amelie though. Don't enter me for the e-books only because I can't read e-books on this computer. And aren't the MacKinnon Brothers something else by Pamela Clare ? Thanks for the post.

    1. Thank thank you Carol! I love Tatou, she is a beautifully talented actress. Pam's MacKinnon Brothers are an obsession for me, they're amazing, and I have read DEFIANT too, which comes out in July, it is NOT to be missed.
      Thanks for stopping by!!

    1. Haha Savannah, I know, but I think she could pull it off, and nobody would think of Harry Potter again once they met Perry's lady ;)

  6. Wow! I love Amelie. I always thought she was so beautiful in an odd sort of way. I agree that Emma Watson... I think whenever I see her all I see is Hermione. She has a couple of movies coming up so let's see if that changes.

    1. I love her eyes, well both of them, this character is really important and her soul has to show through her eyes and distract viewers from some physical attributes that aren't typically considered to be pleasing. Was that vague enough for ya? Lol!

  11. Emma Watson would be surprisingly good I think.

  12. Jenn -

They both are beautiful in their own way but I definately think that in the end Derek would pick Emma! She has that sweet look but at the same time you just know that seductress lives deep inside just waiting for someone like Derek to bring it out!

My only concern is I didn't see any photo of that "older" gentleman that should be included in the background! Maybe you just haven't found the right man to photograph! You know the mentor for Derek when problems arise. I nominate my husband, who may be in his 60's but still is in his prime!

  13. I love Emma Watson and I think she can have a sweet look but also a little edge. As for the guy, yeah, muscles work LOL

  17. By God! Your model for the novel will always be who I picture as both Rake and Recluse. Honestly, I have tried to think who I would cast but the characters were unique and the picture I have in my head does not have Hollywood actor written on it! jepebATverizonDOTnet

  18. Audrey, that is the one I would go with. She is cute and sweet but can get feisty.

  19. Derek sure looks the part of a rake. I haven't seen Emma outside of Harry Potter, but I'd like too. It would be fun to see her in a period piece.
