Romance Book Casting Call with Mandi from Smexy Books and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the Casting Call, blogger Mandi from Smexy Books. I am super stoked to have Mandi here to help me celebrate my first year of blogging. I was actually lucky enough to meet Mandi at last years Authors After Dark in Philadelphia and she is awesome. I'm not going to lie, I was in total awe of her when I first met her because I just love her blog so much. But she was super nice and we even talked a little about the BDB, which we are both obsessed with.

Mandi lives two lives. One at home with a hubs and two boys. Another surrounded by romantic happily ever afters and sometimes if she is feeling daring, a dangerous urban fantasy world. She has collected numerous fictional boyfriends along the way that keep her quite busy. While she has many favorite authors, on her auto-buy list currently are Courtney Milan, Cara McKenna, Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, KA Mitchell, Jim Butcher and Kaki Warner....just to name a few.

Romance Book Casting Call with Dianne Duvall and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the Casting Call Dianne Duvall. I'm so happy that Dianne was able to join us for the Blog Party. I admit I totally adore her. She has always been super nice and I LOVE her Immortal Guardians series.

Dianne Duvall earned a BA in English from the University of St. Thomas and has won multiple awards as a romance writer. Her debut paranormal romance novel Darkness Dawns was awarded 4 1/2 stars by RT Book Reviews, received 5-star reviews and was declared a Top Pick by The Romance Reviews and a Best Book by Long and Short Reviews, and received 5-star reviews from Bitten by Paranormal Romance, Reading Between the Wines, Books and Things and Paranormal Romance Addict. It also won first place in the Romance Writers of America Indiana Golden Opportunity contest, then was chosen as Best of the Best. It is the first book in her Immortal Guardians series.

When she isn't writing, Dianne is very active in the independent film industry and once even appeared onscreen as a machete-wielding maniac not unlike the vampires she so loves to create in her novels.

Romance Book Casting Call with Laurie London and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the Casting Call Laurie London. Laurie is no stranger to RFTC and I am so happy to have her back for the blog party. She is definitely one of my favorite authors and I am obsessed with her Sweetbloods series.

A graduate of Western Washington University with a BA in Business Administration and a former tester/programmer for a Fortune 500 company, Laurie London now writes from her home near Seattle where she lives with her husband and two children.

Her debut book, BONDED BY BLOOD, A Sweetblood Novel came out February 2011 and EMBRACED BY BLOOD, the second book in the series, came out July 2011 from HQN. You can also find her novella HIDDEN BY BLOOD, for free on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble right now.

Her writing has won and been a finalist in several prestigious contests including the Beacon, the Emerald City Opener, the Marlene, and the Orange Rose.

She is represented by Emmanuelle Morgen of Judith Ehrlich Literary Management and is a member of Romance Writers of America®, Greater Seattle Area RWA, RWAOnline, Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, FF&P (RWA chapter devoted to all things paranormal), and two book clubs – one of which she helps coordinate live online author chats with readers from around the world.

When not writing, she can be found running, reading, or riding and showing her horse. Someday she hopes to qualify for the Quarter Horse World Show – that is, if her horse doesn’t get hurt again.

Feature and Giveaway: His Darkest Salvation by Juliana Stone

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Juliana was unable to cast her books. But fear not, we still want to feature her books because they are made of awesome and we want to share them with everyone.

Juliana Stone has always believed in the power of a good story. When her first narrative, a futuristic about Santa Claus set in a world that resembled her friend’s hamster cage was a hit with her fourth grade teacher, she discovered the joy of words. Something that has stayed with her ever since. Whether it was music or narrative, words became an important part of her life.

During a stint on the music end of things,( and yes she had the big hair, and equally big shoulder pads) she toured Canada fronting an all female rock band and after meeting her husband fell into married life. Kids, dog and the requisite white picket fence followed and her writing took a bit of a back seat.

But in the fall of 2007 she decided to take another stab at writing and inspired by the paranormal works of Christine Feehan, Keri Arthur and Lindsey Sands she set out to write something great. She ended up with an intriguing world of Jaguar Warriors and was grateful that Avon Books wanted to publish them!

Juliana writes paranormal romance for Avon/Harpercollins including The Jaguar Warrior Trilogy and her new paranormal romance/urban fantasy series, League of Guardians, as well as futuristic/sci-fi for Samhain Publishing. She’s excited about writing a new contemporary romance series for Sourcebooks, based on 3 of her favorite Bon Jovi songs that will release in 2013. Please visit the book page for more information about these books!

Reflection On a Years Worth of Blogging

What to say about this past year...I've had a blast this year and if anyone would have told me two years ago that I would be running my own blog I would have said you were nuts. Now here I am having a blast and I have so many of you to thank for it.

When I started RFTC I honestly didn't think it would go anywhere. I just wanted an outlet to purge some of my thoughts on life and books and I thought that I could try to write a few reviews to help get my creative juices flowing. I never expected it to be what it is today. I still remember how excited I got when I received my first ARC copy to review and when I booked my first guest. Here we are a year later and I'm still getting excited whenever I'm able to book someone or I receive a review request.

So many great and exciting things have happened in the past year. From all of the great guest posts and interviews, to the book signings, the bloggers, Authors After Dark con, Man Candy Monday pics, special blog events and so many great books. It's all gone by so quick but it was all so much fun and I can't wait to see what's in store for this next year.
