Book Spotlight: The Fever and The Fury by Stephanie Draven and Giveaway

Revenge is a dish best served hot!

Phaedra, a fury, is bound to make Lieutenant Luke Lazaros atone for his supposed crime, but her usual method of inflicting pain doesn’t work very well on a phoenix with the power to be reborn every time he dies. However, each rebirth leaves him with an overwhelming need for sex. Phaedra’s new plan: to drive Luke mad with desire.

But Phaedra has never touched anyone—even herself—except to cause pain. She’s an innocent when it comes to pleasure…but Luke isn’t. His touch is a revelation, arousing a passion in Phaedra that is as delicious as it is terrifying. For no matter how much she wants Luke, giving herself to a man risks awakening her goddess’s wrath.

Guest Post with Author Tori St. Claire and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the blog author Tori St. Claire. Toni is currently on tour promoting the release of her erotic romance suspense book Stripped. Please everyone, give a big welcome to Toni.

The theme… the theme… egad the theme.

Where did it come from? Honestly? I have no idea. It is, hands down, a story that just presented itself. I had to work out a few details, and I’ll share those.

The idea of a romantic suspense novel in a strip bar hit me from a song. But I knew that was a pretty generic romantic suspense theme. I wanted something a little darker, a little different, of course.

I’ve always had a passion for Russia. This probably came from my mentor, who is a Russian immigrant. Add in the fact that I cut my teeth on movies with my father and James Bond, espionage came rather naturally. Only, I don’t tend to be that future-sighted to create fancy little gadgets like 007 has, so I had to steer clear of the fantastical.

Russia, Moscow especially, has a deep history in the mafia. Everything, for the most part, is tied in somehow. You want protection? You go to the mafia. You want retribution? Well… I think you get my point. So I did some research on what mafia groups (there are many as opposed to our US understanding of Italian mafias) were doing what, which were international threats as opposed to regional, and so forth. Enter the Solntsevskaya Bratva. Scary bunch, let me tell you.

Guest Post with Author Dawn Chartier

Today I would like to welcome to the blog author Dawn Chartier. Dawn is currently on tour promoting the release of her book Not an Angel and has stopped by to share with us. So please give Dawn a very warm welcome.

Is everyone having a really insane New Year like I am? Seriously, I feel like I haven’t stopped since Thanksgiving, and it’s gotten crazier since the New Year. Sometimes I spread myself to thin, cram too many things into one basket, then the basket breaks, everything falls out and I have to scramble to gather all those things back into my grasp. You know what I’m mean, right?

So what do we do about it? I don’t know. That’s why I’m asking you. I Guess you thought I had the answers. Nah. I haven’t a clue. I can see the problem, but not the answer. When people ask for volunteers my hand for some strange reason pops right up. Some kind of syndrome or something.

How My Road to Publication Started with the New Kids on the Block

First of all, I’d like to thank Dani for inviting me to stop over here at her blog! Any place that has a tab for mancandy is awesome in my book. :)

One of the questions I get asked often when I tell people that I have a book getting published is--how does that work? Most people outside of publishing assume it’s a pretty simple process. You write a book, slap it in an email and send it to publishers to see who wants it.

Of course, that’s not the case, but it’s not necessarily an easy question to answer because every writer’s journey is different (and often long and complicated, lol.) For me, the first book I ever wrote was when I was 15. It was a romance and was basically really awful New Kids on the Block fan fiction. *groan* I was determined though and actually went out and bought a copy of Writer’s Market to see who I could send it to.
