Romance Book Casting Call with Lila DiPasqua and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the Casting Call Lila DiPasqua. Lila is absolutely one of my favorite people. She is so kind and charming, plus absolutely adore her books. I love that she takes fairy tales and puts an erotic twist to them. Seriously, her books rock!

At age fourteen, Lila’s best friend sneaked a romance novel out of her grandmother’s house. After devouring it, Lila was hooked on romance novels for life. Today she lives with her real-life hero husband and three children and is a firm believer in the happily-ever-after. She loves history and enjoys traveling. She has been to four continents so far. Weaving in interesting historical facts she discovers during her travels, Lila writes stories about historical alpha-heroes and the heroines who make them lose their hearts. Lila DiPasqua writes wicked & witty historical romance for Penguin/Berkley as well as self-published novels.

Places to find Lila:

A MIDNIGHT DANCE is part of my Fiery Tales series. It’s a retelling of Cinderella with my own special steamy, romantic twist.

Here is a small sample of A MIDNIGHT DANCE:

Once upon a time there was a woman whose life
was in cinders. Her story has been retold many
ways, many times, throughout the realm. Throughout
time. Her family’s wealth was gone, as were
their elegant home, their prestigious theater, and
her lovely gowns. They were as lost to her as her
girlhood dream of marrying a man she’d loved from
afar. A man who was well beyond her reach.
A man she’d dubbed her Dark Prince, for he was
tall, dark, and oh so handsome.
But her opinion of him had soured. No longer did
she believe in a happily ever after.
Yet one night, at the stroke of
midnight, the stars aligned.
Destiny stepped in.
And she came face-to-face with her Dark Prince.
But she didn’t arrive before him as she’d dreamed
all those years ago. She was not in a golden-colored
gown, but in humble attire, not in a gilded carriage,
but in a rickety cart, as worthless as a pumpkin,
driven by two men, as meek as mice . . .
carrying wine mixed with a special potion .

Our cinder-girl, Sabine Laurent, had a mad crush on our hero, Jules de Moutier since she was fifteen and first saw him at her father’s theater. The popular nineteen-year-old first-born son of the Marquis de Blainville never noticed her then. Years later, Sabine blames his powerful family for her family’s ruin. She’s not the kind of girl who waits around for someone to rescue her. In dire straits, she’s intend on seducing our hero, Jules, and making away with a fortune in silver. But in order to walk away with that much wealth, she’ll have to rely on some tainted wine.

Jules de Moutier is no fool. And according to Fresh Fiction, he is “. . . the prince charming all women dream of!” Tall, dark and dangerous. He’s plotting some revenge of his own.

His life is never the same once he crosses paths with a beautiful blonde thief.

I’d love A MIDNIGHT DANCE to be made into a movie. This book has so many twists and unexpected turns, readers have told me I’ve made them gasp in surprise down to the final two paragraphs!

To play Sabine, I’d pick Scarlett Johansson. She’s beautiful, blonde would capture Sabine’s spunky and clever personality.

To play Jules, I need an actor with dark hair and sexy dark eyes. I’m going to pick Eric Bana. Who can resist that man? Seriously. ;)

What’s your favorite Cinderella-themed book or movie? One random commenter will win a signed copy of A MIDNIGHT DANCE.

Inspired by the tale of Cinderella, Lila DiPasqua weaves a steamy historical romance that offers a glass slipper, a dangerous deception, and an impoverished beauty determined to find her handsome prince…and make him pay.

Born into wealth, Sabine Laurent and her twin sister lived a life of luxury, their father’s prestigious theater frequented by royalty and aristocracy alike. And Sabine dreamed of her own prince charming—the devastatingly handsome Jules de Moutier.

That was before the loss of her sister and her family’s fall from grace—a disaster Sabine blames on the Moutier family. Now, with her father’s death, she’s inherited his sizable debt and the responsibility of caring for his spoiled long-time mistress and her two wastrel daughters. But with the help of Sabine’s eccentric friends—the balance of her father’s acting troupe—she plans to get very close to her old infatuation, seduce the rake—and make away with a fortune.

Resisting Jules’s skillful mouth and tantalizing touch is not as easy as Sabine supposed. And soon she must decide whether her desire for vengeance is greater than her desire for her one and only prince…

  1. I haven't read the book but I do like your choices! My favourite Cinderella adaptation is definitely the movie Ever After. I love it! And Daniella is definitely a bit of a badass in it. Thanks!

  2. read Nicole Jordon's Princess Charming just last week & enjoyed it, alas it's the only "Cinderella" romance that comes to mind (it's late so the mind isn't fully functional anymore which could be why, or it could be I haven't read any that brought that tale to mind). of course when I think about Cinderella, I always think of Disney's animated movie (who wouldn't love a fairy godmother that whips up fab clothes & rides out of nowhere *g*)

  3. Julia Quinn's An Offer From a Gentleman. That was a very mean stepmother, I just love it when Benedict and his mother rescue her from the prison.

  4. The cinderella movie that I like is Ever after. I like Drew Barrymore's acting in there. She's an orphan but she shows her braveness to survive from being bankrupt. The evil step mother sells every utensil, furnitures and jewlerries. In this film the fairy god mother is Da Vinci. The prince is also charming and handsome.

  16. Both are so good-looking!! But just one problem: Bana looks more innocent than Johansson! She has this sexy, taunting smile on her face while Bana's just smiling so sweetly. Lol, that's like role-reversal. But still, I do like the cast, and I'd love to read A Midnight Dance more! :D Haha, thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

  17. My favorite Cindrella film has to be Ever After with Drew Barrymore as she is does not need the prince to save her as she does this herself but she just needs to be loved. Sabine is definitely Scarlett Johansson. I have read Midnight Dance already but I love Sabine and Jules they are perfect.

  29. My favorite Cinderella movie would be Cinderella from Disney just because it was my first exposure and it still works. But seeing others mention Ever After - yep like that one too, even though I'm not a fan of Drew Barrymore, I want to see more of Dougray Scott!

  32. I'd have to agree with everyone. Ever After is for me the best Cinderella based movie ever made and my personal favorite because of the unforgettable lines ("A bird may love a fish, Signore, but where would they live?" and "Then I shall just have to build you wings!"), scenes and characters. The movie made me cry like a baby. :>
