Interview with Author Lenore Wolfe and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome author Lenore Wolfe to RFTC. Lenore is currently on tour for her book Dark Warrior: To Tame a Wild Hawk and has stopped by to answer some questions. So please give Lenore a warm welcome.

Lenore grew up in Montana, where her great-grandmother and father taught her about the real Old West and Alaska, where she fell in love with the wild beauty of the Last Frontier. She currently lives in central US, where she finds that each day holds a lesson in the value and history of those who have walked before us and what we can learn from their experiences while walking on our own unique path. Lenora holds a BA in Sociology with a minor in writing from the University of Northern Colorado. She is a student of earth based and Shamanic Studies.

Places to find Lenore:

First off, can you tell us a bit about you?
I grew up in Montana and Alaska. In Montana, my great-grandmother was one of the many pioneer women who made her way in the Wild West. She worked. She toiled. She raised three children on her own when her drunk husband took off and left her in the the small town of York, Montana. And I quickly learned a small child--she may have been under five foot tall, but even in her eighties and nineties, you didn't want to let that fool you--for her spirit, her fight, far out-weighed anyone I had known, then, or since. She was, and still is, the toughest lady I have ever met. And whenever there were times in my life, whenever I thought my own journey had become much too tough, I would stop and think--how on earth had she done it? I would think about all the brave women who helped to make America, and I would be inspired--never quit. Never say die. And never let the enemy know he almost had you.

Did you always want to be a writer?
I was always writing stories in my head, not on paper. It wasn't till my 20's that I tried to write on down on paper.

What kind of writer are you? Panster or Plotter?
Definitely panster. I plotted twice after Hawk without near the success, so I've gone back to letting the characters tell me their stories:)

Where do your ideas come from?
I see a character in my mind, and that character begins to tell me their story. Sometimes It takes me weeks or months to feel nuances of the story.

A la Twitter style, can you describe your book (or series) in 140 characters or less.
Amanda Kane has always had visions of the man she's destined to marry--a cowboy who will help her save her ranch. But Hawk is no ordinary cowboy. He carries a powerful secret. A secret that leads to betrayal.

Out of any of your books, which one would you like to be a character in? And why?
Hawk's. Because I would love to have been spent time in the Lakota camp with them.

What are some of your favorite kinds of stories to read?
Paranormal, hands down. So when I combine paranormal with romance, it's a clear winner :)

Do you have a favorite book and if so what is it?
Johanna Lindsey's, Angel. I loved the first chapter when he first met her pet panther .

Have you ever fallen for another author's hero? If so, who and why?

Yes, James Mallory. He was an alpha male to die for. If you really want to know why, read the Malory series. Even though it was started probably twenty years ago, Johanna Lindsey still writes new stories to the series, and she always brings back James:)

Describe the characteristics that make up your perfect hero.

Strong, dark and deep.

What are the scenes that are the hardest for you to write?

Battle scenes. LOL, I've a lot to Lear about hand-to-hand battle strategies. I rely on two of my sons to tell me about the great battles of Rome.

If you could have dinner with any three book characters, who would you choose and why?

Hawk, James Malory, and Jake. LOL, why? Guess:) It has something to with ummmmm, strong...dark....and deep.

If you could have dinner with any three authors, who would you choose and why?

Indie authors, Patti Roberts, and Charlotte Blackwell because they simply rock and always bring it. And Romance author Johanna Lindsey because her Malory series moved me to a point that I never forgot, even after all these years.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Sculpt and paint, but mainly sculpt.

Favorite movie?

I tend to watch TV series more than movies. I love the story to go on and on. And Australia's McCleod's Daughters is my favorite. LOL, It takes months to watch all 8 seasons, and I'm working through them my third time.

Favorite song?

Adele's Rolling in the Deep

Favorite color?

Black Purple

Last question, are you working on anything right now?
Several somethings :) But I'm finishing up Fire Sprite, a YA paranormal romance from the series Realm of the Elemental Witch.

Amanda Kane has spent years with a secret society of Lakota women, who taught her the ancient ways. She has sought the help of the Grandmothers, from beyond the veil, to help her stop the man behind the mask. They point her to the visions she has always had of the man she’s destined to marry—a cowboy who will help save her ranch. But Hawk is no ordinary cowboy. He carries a powerful secret. A secret that leads to betrayal.
