A Blissfully Spooky Halloween with Jennifer Shirk

Jennifer Shirk has a bachelor degree in pharmacy-which has in NO WAY at all helped her with her writing career. But she likes to point it out, since it shows romantic-at-hearts come in all shapes, sizes, and mind-numbing educations.

She writes sweet (and sometimes even funny) romances for Samhain Publishing, Amazon/Montlake Romance, and now Entangled Publishing.

Lately she's been on a serious exercise kick. But don't hold that against her.

Hi, all! Jennifer here.

I LOVE October. Not only is it my birthday this month (and my recent book release for Wedding Date for Hire) but it also has one of my daughter's favorite holidays: Halloween.

This year my daughter told me she wants to be Snow White for Halloween.
Sounds good, right? Well, you'd think so, but I find this funny for many reasons:
  1. she's almost 14
  2. she was already Snow White when she 6
  3. she wants to be ZOMBIE Snow White

I know what you're thinking. What's with Snow White?

Well…I'm not sure. LOL! All I can say is she has loved that Princess her whole life. When we first took her to Disney World, we bought her the whole outfit and she walked around the parks dressed like her all week. (HINT: if you ever want to get preferential treatment there, have your child dress like a Disney character! LOL)

When she was in First Grade and totally consumed by everything Snow White, I remember asking her, "Why do you like Snow White the best?"

And she replied, "Because she's the sweetest, Mommy."

Aww…. Being a sweet romance author, her answer warmed my insides. And to further warm your insides, I'm posting a picture of my daughter on Halloween the first time she was Snow White.

I have my job cut out for me with zombie makeup for this year's Snow White costume. My how things change. Wish me luck!

Happy Reading and have a Happy Halloween!
~Jennifer

Maddie McCarthy is single, between jobs, and (oh, the shame) lives with her mother. To make matters worse, she's the maid of honor for her sister's wedding, and desperately needs a date. Then she sees her salvation—Match Made Easy, a service for women in Maddie’s exact position. If she can't find a boyfriend, she'll do the next best thing...

Hire one.

Trent Montgomery isn't actually part of Match Made Easy. He's just doing a favor for his cousin, but one look at the blonde who hired him, and he's totally hooked. Now Maddie thinks that the attraction sizzling between them is just “part of the package.” And Trent is running out of time to prove to her that her date-for-hire might just be her happily-ever-after...

  1. Your book looks like it will be fun to read.. It caught my eye because you have the same last name as a good friend of mine.. But he's from a very small town in Indiana and now works for the city of Indianapolis. So I doubt there's any connection -- anyway, congratulations on your book and your Zombie Snow White!!!

  3. Zombie Snow White....how fun! I have 3 daughters...have made just about every princess dress out there for Halloween except for Snow White and Belle...two of my favorites! None of the kids ever wanted to be a zombie princess though! LOL. My oldest, also a Jennifer, is in her 5th year of Pharmacy school...just like you. For her senior prom she finally wanted a Belle type dress and wore this big, poofy yellow dress with the tiara and everything! Anyways, congrats on the release!
