Sealed With a Kiss Event with Anna Harrington

Anna fell in love with historical romances—and all those dashing Regency heroes—while living in London, where she studied literature and theatre. She loves to travel, fly airplanes, and hike, and when she isn’t busy writing her next novel, she can usually be found in her garden, fussing over her roses.

In IF THE DUKE DEMANDS, Miranda Hodgkins and Sebastian Carlisle strike a deal—she’ll help him find a proper duchess if he helps her to capture his brother’s heart. Yet as the London season goes on, they realize that their true love is much closer than either of them ever imagined. But Sebastian needs a proper duchess, and Miranda, the orphaned niece of one of his tenant farmers and an orphanage manageress, can never be what society—and his father—expects of him. When Miranda believes that he’s set on marrying a woman who isn’t her, can Sebastian say or do anything to convince her of how she is and how very right they two of them are together?

Check out Miranda and Sebastian's love story in If the Duke Demands.

WHEN A SIMPLE SEDUCTION...

Sebastian Carlisle, Duke of Trent, has inherited more than a dukedom--he's been saddled with the responsibility of ensuring his family's legacy. Determined to find a proper wife to be his duchess, he’s planned for dowries and settlements, eventually an heir. But he certainly never planned on finding a beautiful, masked woman draped across his bed, begging to be seduced…and very nearly succeeding until he discovers that his seductress is none other than Miranda Hodgkins, the flighty, free-spirited niece of one of his tenant farmers who has mistakenly sneaked into the wrong bedroom.

...PROVES ANYTHING BUT SIMPLE

Madly in love with Robert Carlisle since he shared her first kiss, Miranda has planned a seduction designed to make him fall in love with her, only for it to all go horribly wrong when the man behind the mask reveals himself to be not Robert but Sebastian. The two strike an agreement—Sebastian will help her with Robert, and Miranda will help him find a proper duchess. But once in London, Sebastian is distracted from his quest by Miranda, and he soon finds himself sabotaging her attempts to catch his brother…in order to keep her for himself.

    1. Great question! The answer: it depends! Usually I come up with the setting first and then wonder what kind of people would live in such a house, village, part of London, etc. For IF THE DUKE DEMANDS, I actually first came up with what I thought would be a great first line: "As Miranda Hodgkins stared at the masked man standing at the foot of the bed, she knew this night would end in her complete ruination. Exactly what she hoped for." And then it just went out from there!

    1. I'm sorry! :( I kinda positioned these letters to be right toward the end of the book, right before the last chapter. It's the dark moment, definitely. But they end up happily ever after (I promise!).

    1. Oh, what a fabulous question!! My fav rose right now are my Don Juans. I've got 4 of them and LOVE how velvety dark red the petals are and the scent. I've just ordered more Lady Emma Hamilton and Lady of Shallot from David Austin, so I can't wait for those to arrive. And I planted three heirloom roses last month that I can't wait to see how they blossom. So many roses, so little time...

    2. wow, thanks for the response. i will have to google those roses to see how they look. thanks!

  23. I want to get to the part of the book where Sebastian rips off Miranda's dress; at least that's what he says to her in a letter. The art of letter-writing has fallen off, but my mom sends letters and gets letters back in return. She also believes in Thank You notes and expects to be given one for gifts sent.
