My Favorite Things Event with Terri E. Laine

Terri E. LaineUSA Today bestselling author, left a lucrative career as a CPA to pursue her love for writing. Outside of her roles as a wife and mother of three, she’s always been a dreamer and as such became an avid reader at a young age.

Many years later, she got a crazy idea to write a novel and set out to try to publish it. With over a dozen titles published under various pen names, the rest is history. Her journey has been a blessing, and a dream realized. She looks forward to many more memories to come.

My Favorite Things

Growing up, I didn’t see myself as a writer. But I did imagine I’d be a mom one day. And I got my wish. It wasn’t the five I pictured, but three, two daughters and a son. The last two of the bunch keep me pretty busy with activities these days. So they are foremost my favorite “things” to happen to me.

Outside of my children and family, these are my favorite things to come to mind.

1. Reading, Reading, and More Reading
I love to read and consume a ton of audio books throughout the year. It’s easier to listen with my time limited. I can do it on the go, in the car, or chores around the house. I have my favorite authors and fangirl like the best of them. One of my book besties, Amy and I, went to see J.R. Ward, for her event this month. It’s a trip of a lifetime and I’ll always remember it. And I have a signed book to commemorate the trip.

2. Traveling with my book besties…
My husband isn’t into sightseeing like I am. Thanks to my book besties, I’ve knocked off several places off my bucket list -- Paris and Scotland in 2014, Montreal in 2015, Scotland and Ireland in 2016, and I’m headed to Berlin this summer with several other stops on the list. Last year though, we crashed the set of the History Channel’s show Vikings in Ireland. We walked through all the sets outside and inside the sound stage. Best Day EVER!!!!

3. I’m a bonafide shopaholic and I love to collect things.
Over the years from when I was a kid, I’ve collected everything from stamps, teddy bears, dolls, you name it. Outside of my signed book collection, currently I still have a keychain collection. I buy them on my travels and I also love Coach keychains. They come up with interesting ones. This is a photo of a shadowbox of enameled Coach purse keychains I have displayed. Some may think it’s weird, maybe it is, but I like it.

Piper’s no stranger to motorcycle clubs. She ran from that life several years ago and has no desire to go back. Only the life came looking for her in the form of a gorgeous, massive man they call Ender.

Ender is the cleanup guy. The guy who fixes sh@t when it’s broken. When he’s sent to retrieve the sexy hothead, he gets more than he’s bargained for.
She’s no wallflower and during her years away, she’s learned new skills making her lethal. But Ender is just as good at his job and he’ll get her back home, hog-tied if he has too.

There’s only one problem. The more time he spends with her road tripping across the country, the more he wants her in his bed. The patch that marks her as taken, however, belongs to another, his best friend and brother. And a man’s got to live by a code, one he can’t break.

She hates him for what he represents and his cold demeanor. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want one night to see if the man behind the mask lives up to his reputation. For her survival, she’s determined to break him and his code. It might be her only means of escape. And if she’s honest, the sooner she can get away the better because her heart is getting lost in him too.

  1. I love to travel and see a lot of historical things. At first my family didn't like but now they get bored if it's a vacation where you just sit on a beach all week! Boston was their favorite so far!

  8. Love your #1 choice and agree whole-heartedly. I've never felt the need to collect things. I just figure they are more things to collect dust.
