ARC Review: American King by Sierra Simone

American King is the third and final installment in Sierra Simone's New Camelot Trilogy, and to say that I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever would be a huge understatement. Not only was this definitely my most anticipated book this year, but I have basically been waiting for it since I first read American Queen. To say this series is amazing doesn't do it justice, but Sierra Simone is a genius and honestly I would read anything by her at this point. 

American King picks up after the events of American Prince. If you haven't read American Queen and American Prince, you need to read those two books first. This isn't a standalone, and you definitely will want to start at the beginning. I'm not going to go into details of this book so as not to spoil anything, but this book centers more on Ash and I couldn't not have been more excited to get to know more about our king. 

The characters in this series are so well thought out. Each have so many layers, with a history and depth that make them impossible not to relate to or fall for. While their circumstances are not something I could relate to, I found that they each had something about them that I could. My love for Ash, Embry and Greer just continued to grow here, and I really felt like we got to see so much growth and change for all of them over the course of this series. I feel like after reading American King that I understood each of them better and Sierra Simone brought everything full circle. We knew from the first two books that these three had chemistry and a connection, but the question was always whether or not that was enough to overcome everything that stood in their way, and I felt like Sierra Simone did them justice and this series ended in a way that was true to the characters. 

Overall, I don't have the words to describe just how amazing this series is, but it is definitely one of my all time favorites. This series was sexy and super emotional, taking the reader through many highs and lows. It was so worth the ride though as Sierra Simone broke us down and put us all back together in a way that only she could. I really felt like this was a journey for not only the characters but for the reader as well. It was beautiful and heartbreaking, and so freaking hot that I couldn't put each of these books down. If you haven't read this series yet, drop everything and get these books. If you have started this series, this conclusion is a must read and you will not be disappointed. Sierra Simone is such a talented writer, and I have loved everything I have read from her. Her ability to write original stories as well as to take a well known and classic tale and make it her own in a modern setting proves just how impressive she is and I really hope that she never quits writing as it is obvious that this is what she is meant to do. If you are new to her books and like well written and steamy stories, you have got to give her books a shot.

ARC Review: Glamour: Contemporary Fairytale Retellings Anthology

I have a love/hate relationship with anthologies, but when I saw the list of authors attached to Glamour: Contemporary Fairytale Retellings, I knew I had to read it. I am so glad that I took a chance on this one as it was one of the best anthologies I have ever read. Each story was one I enjoyed, without a single disappointment in the bunch. 

Glamour includes novellas based on classic fairytales, including the following stories: 

Knot by Lili St. Germain (Rapunzel) 

Red Hot Pursuite by A.L. Jackson (Little Red Riding Hood) 

Ripples by Aleatha Romig (Prince and the Pauper) 

In A Stranger's Bed by Sophie Jordan (Goldilocks) 

Bedtime Story by Skye Warren (Sleeping Beauty) 

Royal Mattress by Nicola Rendell (Princess and the Pea) 

Music Box Girl by Sierra Simone (Twelve Dancing Princesses) 

Broken Harp by Nora Flite (Jack and the Beanstalk) 

Each one of this was quick and sexy, and just what I was looking for. These are the perfect quick bits steam for those that don't have time to sit down and read a full novel. I loved that they were modern retellings, taking what we have grown up loving about classic fairytales and putting their own modern twists on them. While I enjoyed all of these and would recommend this to readers, my absolute favorite here was Music Box Girl by Sierra Simone. I loved each story, and I think fans of Erotica as well as fans of fairytales will definitely want to check this one out.

ARC Review: American Prince by Sierra Simone

American Prince is at the top of my most anticipated books of 2017, with American King being right there as well. Sierra Simone is one of my favorite authors, and I couldn't wait to find out what would happen after finishing American Queen. This series is a trilogy that needs to be read in order. So if you haven't read American Queen yet, you definitely need to start there. 

American Prince picks up after the events of American Queen, and focuses much more on Embry than the first book did. We get to see him in both the past and present, allowing us to learn about his history and how he came to know and grow close to both Ash and Greer. While we had some idea from the first book, I loved really getting to explore what made Embry the man he was. This book really destroyed me at times for how Embry felt and saw himself, as though he felt like he didn't deserve happiness. He had finally got a taste of it with Ash and Greer, and you could see how much they both meant to him. 

I can't really go into much of this story without giving things away, and trust me you need you need to just experience this story without knowing anything going in. This book gave me all the feels, and I was on such an emotional roller coaster here. My heart soared for these characters as they found love and happiness that had them feeling complete after everything that they had been through, and then it broke for each of them as they continued to be dealt so much more than anyone should have to go through. I know that Sierra Simone will build us up again after breaking us down, but there were things here that had me so wrecked and others that had me wanting to commit murder. I know that American King will be another emotional ride, but I have faith that things will be put back together as only Sierra Simone can do. 

Only knowing the basics of Arthurian legend, I don't really know entirely how things will play out and I know that Sierra Simone will put her own unique spin on it. But I honestly can't wait to see what happens next. This series is one of my absolute favorites, and American Prince did not disappoint. Sierra Simone is a talented writer, captivating the reader from start to finish with her beautiful words. If you haven't started this series yet, you are missing out and you should definitely go get these books! American Queen and American Prince are must reads for me, and I will be counting the days until August when American King is scheduled to be released.

ARC Review: American Queen by Sierra Simone

Wow! This book was so good and even though I have read books by Sierra Simone before, it was something on an entirely different level. I was surprised to find out that this ended with a cliffhanger, but trust me when I say that American Queen is worth the read and I am so glad that I didn't wait. 

Greer Galloway met Ash when she was sixteen and the two of them shared a powerful but short bond. Years later, the Vice President requests Greer's presence on the behalf of the President, Ash. Ash and Embry are best friends, and Greer quickly finds herself entwined with both of them in a relationship filled with secrets, yet pleasure beyond anything they have experienced before. 

I absolutely loved these characters! Each of them were so unique and special. They had so many layers and were ones that on their own were interesting. Yet when you put them all together, it was absolutely fascinating. Greer is a natural submissive, yet she wasn't weak at all. I loved her character and felt she truly fit with Ash and Embry. Ash was sexy and so much more than you might think at first. You could just tell that he was powerful and that there was so much more beneath his surface. He is one of those characters that you just can't wait to peel back the layers of. Embry was maybe the most interesting of all, which was a surprise to me. He was smart and sexy, and he really added so much to this story. He instantly captured my attention and might be the brightest spot of the three of them. The chemistry and connection between them all though was beyond anything I have read before!

Sierra Simone masterfully crafted this world that captivates from the very first page and doesn't let you go, even long after you have finished. I honestly can't wait for more, and I need to know what happens next! This book was lava hot and I just couldn't get enough of them! I have been trying to come up with the right words to describe this book without giving anything away, and honestly I am still trying to figure them out. The one thing I can say though is that if you are a fan of erotica with some BDSM and menage action, this is one that you need to check out! Sierra Simone is an amazing writer, and she continues to impress me with each book of hers I read. I will anxiously be awaiting more!
