Her illustrated Novel THE RAKE AND THE RECLUSE was originally released in February of 2011 to rave reviews and snarky comments. Dani! My hero who approached a most handsome hero and did what every girl would do..TALKED ABOUT ME!! You are amazing. Now... where were we? AH, we talked sex, more specifically we talked about sex in the great outdoors. That was fun!

So now where will we go? How about the museum? Museums are great venues, so romantic and full of color and emotion. It might be difficult for a private rendezvous but if you are creative you may find a good spot.

I was lucky enough in high school to travel to Paris, among other cities, and visit the Louvre. There was one room that struck me and help my imagination to this day. It was a room of columns. Now my creative mind has probably embellished a bit but what I remember is a great expanse of a room lined in marble of white, grey and black. You took several steps down to enter, then you were engulfed in a forest of columns, every one of them different, from top to bottom.

One in particular was capped by horses, they seemed to be screaming from the center of the column, racing toward the sky, their mouths wide in excitement. I remember be completely alone in this room, which was a bit off the beaten path (read: nowhere near the Mona Lisa). I traveled through the forest of marble, touching and looking and studying and wondering. Was there a hero hiding behind the next column? Did he follow me here? Were we playing hide and seek?

I imagine if you placed yourselves properly within the columns, someone new entering the room would only catch hints an glimpses of color and movement, but no clear view of the lovers in the corner.

Goodness me, that isn’t much of a museum tour now is it? One room in one museum that may not be anything like it actually was.

OK. Museums are full of locked doors, closets, alcoves, gardens, porticoes and hidden areas for two lovers looking for a clandestine meeting. So now you have an assignment.

Visit your local museum, any museum (not a children’s museum, it just occurred to me there is a rather famous on here in Denver. Inappropriate.) wander the galleries and enjoy the displays, but look for the lovers space as well. Wonder about where they could meet and what their story is.

Did she choose the natural history museum because she is fond of bones? Was there an out of the way room behind the mammoth display that has been long since forgotten? Did he request the museum of transportation because he wanted to see just how well sprung that 1880 Phaeton is? Or has he always wished to see just how BIG the Big Boy Train is?

(this is the 1880 Phaeton on display at the Forney Museum of Transportation in Denver, CO.)

Be sure to report back about your excursions and your imaginings! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!! *rubs hands together excitedly*

Remember the tour is to celebrate the release of TRATR REDUX so here are the deets!

Blurb:

A woman out of time.
A man stifled by propriety.
A nemesis determined to take her away.
A brother to the rescue.

How will a powerful Duke deal with a woman who doesn't know her place? How will a woman used to the 21st century survive in time where she is considered property?

Francine Larrabee woke up on the wrong side of the century. She was fairly certain she went to sleep in her own comfy bed, but she doesn’t quite seem to be there now. Only adding to her problems is that she has no voice, is constantly being glowered at by a large, stunning man who is obsessed with propriety, and she is apparently betrothed to another horrid little man, determined to ruin her, and any other girls that get in his way.

How does she find herself in the past, when she couldn’t even find herself in her present? How does a self sufficient businesswoman survive in a time when women were still considered property for the whole of their lives and what is she going to do with this man who draws her to him so fiercely.

  1. Hi Jenn

Loved The Rake and The Recluse and I'm simply dying to know more of Perry's story.

I haven't been to a museum in a very long time and the local one is much too small to get up to any mischief.

  2. Thank you Yvonne! Perry's story will be out soon! I'm really excited to share it. Too bad your local museum is so small. I love places wherer you can cause a bit of mischief. :)

  3. So they have Free Museum Tuesdays at Balboa Park in SD (which you need to come shoot at sometime. the architecture alone is fascinating.) and my favorite place to visit is the Automotive museum. There's all these great cars ranging from the early 1920s to the 1970s. Too bad the place is only one giant open floor.

There's also the Museum of Man if you want to get it on next to real mummies... There's also the rose garden...The theater at the Natural History Museum... There's that one dark corner in the Old Globe Theater... There's 13 museums in total so take your pick. I am not endorsing these places for you pervs to get it on should you ever visit SD in the near future. There are cameras. So unless you want to be the next Kim K, keep your panties on, hands off each other and ogle the artifacts. Not your museum buddy.

  5. A Natural Museum because of an affinity for "bones" huh Jenn? You crack me up! =)

It has been a long time since I have been in a museum, and most likely will be another stretch of time till my kids are old enough. But the ones I remember were nothing like the marble columns you saw (that would be a GREAT place to try sneak in some one on one time). From what I remember there were a lot of big rooms, things behind plexi glass, and sticky benches...but there are always STAFF ONLY doors that just beg to be opened =)

  6. At the Louvre Museum, I remember that there was a large Egyptian sculpture by itself sitting in front of a hallway that branched off to other areas. The sculpture was spotlighted, but other than that, it was completely surrounded by darkness.

  7. Far too long since I went to a museum. The local museum is too well patrolled for any sort of dalliance. Too many school tours too.

  9. Hi Jenn!
That's a very interesting question and an experience worth experiencing if given the opportunity:) I've actually never thought before to keep a lookout for the "lovers space", but now I might just have a few ideas;) Sadly I've not been to a museum before, but have always wanted to go to one. That room with the columns you mentioned sounds like a great place to visit! Congrats on the success of your serial!!!

  11. I've never been to a museum that I can remember. I was briefly in an art gallery in London once but there didn't seem to be any hiding places. Everything was wide open but there were many rooms. And it's unlikely I'll get to a museum anytime soon. :(

  12. Maybe someday Pam. Museum inspire me because they are full of mystery, both in the art and in the actual building.
