Romance Book Casting Call with Dianne Duvall and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the Casting Call Dianne Duvall. I'm so happy that Dianne was able to join us for the Blog Party. I admit I totally adore her. She has always been super nice and I LOVE her Immortal Guardians series.

Dianne Duvall earned a BA in English from the University of St. Thomas and has won multiple awards as a romance writer. Her debut paranormal romance novel Darkness Dawns was awarded 4 1/2 stars by RT Book Reviews, received 5-star reviews and was declared a Top Pick by The Romance Reviews and a Best Book by Long and Short Reviews, and received 5-star reviews from Bitten by Paranormal Romance, Reading Between the Wines, Books and Things and Paranormal Romance Addict. It also won first place in the Romance Writers of America Indiana Golden Opportunity contest, then was chosen as Best of the Best. It is the first book in her Immortal Guardians series.

When she isn't writing, Dianne is very active in the independent film industry and once even appeared onscreen as a machete-wielding maniac not unlike the vampires she so loves to create in her novels.

Places to find Dianne:

I’m so excited to be here today! When Danielle asked me if I would like to cast my books for her big blogaversary celebration (Thank you, Danielle!), I jumped at the chance. When I’m not writing, I work in the local independent film industry. And, while I help directors cast their feature film, short film, and music video projects, I admit I spend a lot of time imagining casting my own projects, namely film versions of my books. No production companies have come calling yet, but – when they do – these are the actors I would love to see them recruit. :-)

Hugh Jackman as Roland Warbrook

Roland Warbrook (Hero): A nine-hundred-and-thirty-six-year-old immortal born with the ability to heal with his hands. Betrayed one too many times in the past by those he loved the most, he now distances himself from relationships of any kind and trusts no one . . . until Sarah charges into his life.

Michelle Monaghan as Sarah Bingham

Sarah Bingham (Heroine): A music theory professor at UNC Chapel Hill. The spring semester has ended and her only desire is rest and relaxation . . . until she finds Roland staked to the ground being tortured by two others in the meadow behind her home, and uses her trusty shovel to liberate him, becoming the target of a vicious vampire army.

Jake Gyllenhaal as Bastien

Bastien (Sebastien Newcombe): Roland’s nemesis. He has done what was previously considered impossible — raised a vampire army large enough to pose a serious threat to the Immortal Guardians — and intends to eradicate them one victim at a time while pursuing a personal vendetta against Roland. While doing so, he will become hated by immortal, vampire, and human alike.

Johnny Depp as Marcus Grayden

Marcus Grayden: An immortal who disregards Roland’s reclusive disposition and calls him friend. He recently lost the woman he has loved for eight centuries and, consumed with grief, is skating the edge as he aids Roland in battling Bastien and his vicious army.

Alexander Skarsgård as Seth

Seth: The eldest and most powerful Immortal Guardian. He possesses all of the paranormal abilities the others boast combined and then some. As their self-proclaimed leader, he considers it his responsibility to seek out all newly transformed immortals, ease their transition into their new life, train them, guide them, give them a new purpose, and – if necessary – punish them should they stray from the boundaries he sets for them.

Morris Chestnut as David

David: The second eldest and most powerful Immortal Guardian. Like Seth, he considers all Immortals and their Seconds family and opens his homes to them, aiding them in any way he can and putting their safety and happiness above his own. He is a very powerful healer and telepath, but possesses other interesting gifts as well.

Milla Jovovitch as Ami

Ami (Amiriska): A mysterious woman of unknown origins Seth and David rescue from a facility heavily guarded by mercenaries. Brutally tortured for months, she sometimes questions her own sanity and must fight to overcome the fear instilled in her by her captors.

Damon Wayans Jr. as Darnell

Darnell: David’s Second, or human assistant, who plays an integral role in helping Ami recover from the tortured she endured.

Ryan Reynolds as Chris Reordon

Chris Reordon: Head of the East Coast division of the network of humans who aid the Immortal Guardians. He is fiercely protective of both the immortals and his employees and will do anything to ensure their safety.

Angelina Jolie as Lisette d’Alençon

Lisette d’Alençon: A French immortal and telepath, roughly two hundred years old. After being infected and nearly slain by her husband, she inadvertently infected both of her brothers and still labors beneath the guilt.

Sam Worthington as Richart d’Alençon

Richart d’Alençon: A French immortal, roughly two hundred years old. He is Lisette’s brother and Étienne’s twin. Born with the ability to teleport, he is a strong ally in any battle.

Sam Worthington as Étienne d’Alençon

Étienne d’Alençon: A French immortal and telepath, roughly two hundred years old. He is Lisette’s brother and Richart’s twin.

Once, Sarah Bingham's biggest challenge was making her students pay attention in class. Now, after rescuing a wounded stranger, she's landed in the middle of a battle between corrupt vampires and powerful immortals who also need blood to survive. Roland Warbrook is the most compelling man Sarah has ever laid hands on. But his desire for her is mingled with a hunger he can barely control . . .

In his nine centuries of immortal existence, no woman has tempted Roland as much as Sarah. But asking her to love him is impossible -- when it mean forfeiting the world she's always known, and the life he would do anything to protect.

Inside the Series:

In my Immortal Guardians series, vampires aren’t dead. Or undead. They are humans who have been infected with a very rare symbiotic virus that lends them dramatically increased speed, strength, and senses. It also bestows upon them an unfortunate photosensitivity and need for blood. Immortals in my series are gifted ones (men and women born with extremely advanced DNA) who are infected with the same virus and boast the same enhanced abilities, photosensitivity, and need for blood. But the similarities end there.

Vampires also suffer progressive brain damage, as a result of the virus, that causes them to rapidly descend into madness. The advanced DNA immortals possess protects them from this. It also lends them special abilities vampires lack, such as telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, and others. Immortals have, therefore, taken it upon themselves to hunt down the insane vampires who prey upon humans, and enlist the aid of a network of human assistants to do so. The employees of the network range from Seconds (personal assistants and guards of individual immortals) to cleaners (those who “clean up” the messes immortals sometimes leave behind when hunting vampires) to doctors and scientists who are searching for a cure for the virus or at least some way to prevent the brain damage that occurs in vampires.

  11. I like Diane's cast. Only one I might change is Milla Jovovitch not because I don't think she is a good actress its just my brain associates her with zombies. Sorry I know that not a good reason :(
Johnny Depp is my favorite of her selected cast I seen a preview for him in Dark shadows and yes he would def. be a good actor for this kind of role :) Than again is there a role he wouldn't be good in?? lol

    1. I know what you mean about the zombies. I'm a Resident Evil fan. LOL. But the first thing I saw Milla in was The Fifth Element; and she showed the perfect combination of innocence and vulnerability coupled with total kick-assitude in that. I picture Ami the same way. :-) And I agree with you about Johnny Depp. What role CAN'T he play? LOL.
