Interview with Author J. Lynn and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the blog author J. Lynn. J. Lynn is actually a pseudonym for Jennifer L. Armentrout. J is celebrating the recent release of her novel Tempting the Best Man and has stopped by to chat. Before we get to the interview, lets get to know J. Lynn.

Jennifer lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia. All the rumors you've heard about her state aren't true. When she's not hard at work writing. she spends her time reading, working out, watching really bad zombie movies, pretending to write, and hanging out with her husband and her Jack Russel Loki.

Her dreams of becoming an author started in algebra class, where she spent most of her time writing short stories....which explains her dismal grades in math. Jennifer writes young adult paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance. She also writes adult romance under the name J. Lynn.

A la Twitter style, please describe your book in 140 characters or less.
A sweet and sexy romance between a woman and her brother’s best friend.

What types of scenes are your most favorite to write?
The sexy scenes. =)

If you could have dinner with any three authors (alive or dead), who would you choose?

What are you favorite types of stories to read?
Any story with a heavy romance theme. What can I say? I love romance.

Last question, are you working on anything right now?
Yep, I’m working a special sekrit project. =)

Madison Daniels has worshipped her brother’s best friend since they were kids. Everyone thinks she and Chase Gamble would make the perfect couple, but there are two major flaws in their logic: 1) Chase has sworn off relationships of any kind, and 2) after blurring the line between friends and lovers for one night four years ago, they can’t stop bickering.

Forced together for her brother’s wedding getaway, Chase and Madison decide to call a truce for the happy couple. Except all bets are off when they’re forced to shack up in a tacky 70’s honeymoon suite and survive a multitude of “accidents” as the family tries to prove their “spark” can be used for more than fighting. That is, if they don’t strangle each other first…

  1. Yes! My very favorite is where the man has been in love with his best friends sister for years!

  2. I like the stories where the hero and heroine have been in love with each other for a long time, but neither did anything about it, like in the friends to lovers stories.

  3. This is my favorite story theme. I fell for my best friend older brother and after a fling we went our separate ways. About 10 years later, we were reunited and been together since. And when we did see each other in the 10 years we usually ended up arguing.

  4. The old 'I've loved them for years but haven't said anything' or the love/hate relationship.

  8. I do enjoy when the hero and heroine have a shared past. My all-time favorite trope is enemies to lovers. I love to watch them bicker and get on each others nerves.

  9. I love shared past stories, whether friends to lovers, fiends of siblings, friend's siblings, or enemies to lovers, or second chance at love stories. These are people who know each other, the good & the bad. The characters are usually more themselves, for better or worse.

  10. I do love shared past stories. They can add that little bit of conflict or tension needed to push the hero/heroine into acting. It does make for a well rounded character.

  16. One thing I must say is that this author bleeds a bit of herself into the heroines she writes. I don't know her in "real life" but based on the video chats and tweets, I feel like her personality shines through these characters making them likable and relatable. This, coupled with her amazing ability to weave a story, is why she is one of my favorite authors and this is why I will buy anything she writes. Congrats on your first adult contemporary! I can't wait to read all the trillion books you have coming out this year!
