Guest Post with Author Lacey Wolfe and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome back to the blog author Lacey Wolfe. Lacey is celebrating the release of her novella Bound by Pleasure and has stopped by to chat. But before I give the floor over to Lacey, let's get to know a bit about her.

Lacey Wolfe has always had a passion for words, whether it’s getting lost in a book or writing her own. From the time she was a child she would slip away to write short stories about people she knew and fantasies she wished would happen. It has always been her dream to be a published author and with her two children now of school age, she finally has the time to work on making her dream come true.

Lacey lives in Georgia with her husband, son and daughter, their six cats and one black lab who rules the house.

Thank you so much for having me on your blog today.

Bound By Pleasure is the first BDSM novella that I’ve written. I never thought this would be a genre that I would write, but one day this idea hit and it kept speaking to me. I knew I had to write it. And the story took no time to write. I found that creating a BDSM story was one of the easiest type of stories that I’ve written.

So, I sat down and wondered, what sets my story apart from every other book in this genre. I’m not the first to write a story about the heroine entering into this lifestyle for the first time. However, I think I stayed true to how someone would feel. Megan is scared and often doubts if this is what she wants. She likes the smoking hot sex, but giving up control isn’t as easy as she thought. And punishment, it’s something she doesn’t understand. For the life of her, she can’t figure out why anyone would want to be spanked.

Also, I wanted my hero of the story to be different from most of the Dom’s readers read about. Greg isn’t a high-powered business man. He doesn’t spend his days in meetings and being in control of everything. Instead, he’s a struggling artist. He spends his days painting. His life is anything but organized.

The heroine and hero themselves I think make my story unique. I love reading about the CEO Dom’s myself, but I thought this might put a little different spin on the story. My story isn’t hard-core, but more a romance of two people falling in love and getting a little kinky in the playroom.

Once again, thank you for having me today. I love hearing from readers, so please feel free to come chat with me.

Can Megan let her guard down enough to experience the pleasures Greg has to offer?

As an erotic romance author who has spent hours researching the BDSM lifestyle, Megan thinks she knows all about it. But when she decides to explore it firsthand, she quickly learns that there's a lot she doesn't know.

Greg isn't your typical Dom. He's an artist, and his life is anything but organized. He likes Megan from the start. She's honest and he sees something different in her. The more time he spends with her, the more he finds himself acting in ways he never has before. He's developing feelings for her, and he's hopeful Megan might be feeling the same way, but every time he tries to get her to open up to him, it seems that she takes a huge step back.

Megan has a hard time expressing herself, a problem that only intensified when her ex criticized her every time she tried to share her feelings. As a result, she learned to bite her tongue and keep her emotions hidden. So when she begins to fall in love with Greg, she isn't sure how to tell him, or even if she should tell him. But she fears if she doesn't open up to him soon, she may lose him. Can Megan find the courage she needs before it's too late?

Turning off the car, Megan grabbed her purse. She quickly checked her makeup and hair in the rearview mirror. It was now or never. Taking a deep breath, she climbed out of her car and headed for the front door. The house was gorgeous and the yard was well taken care of. Once she made it up the stone walkway, she saw that the door was ajar. Strange.

She pushed it open and called out and was greeted by a deep voice that echoed from somewhere in the back. He directed her to go to his study which she would find to her left.

Well, she had made it this far, and he knew she was here—there was no turning back now. Once again she took a deep breath, and she made her way to his study. The door was closed when she found it, so once inside the room she made sure to shut it back.

Megan couldn’t believe the sight of his office. It was in complete disarray. Not one bit of organization. There were half started paintings on canvases scattered here and there, and piles of paper stacked on the bookshelves and desk. Perhaps it was best to get out of there. She couldn’t understand why Dawn had recommended him. This was not what she’d expected at all.

Right as she was about to leave she heard the doorknob jiggle. Her eyes widened as she wondered what to do next. Should she meet him on her knees? Or simply take a seat in a chair since this was only an interview? She opted for the chair and sat just as he walked in.

It took every ounce of Megan’s self-control not to let her mouth drop open when she saw the man who presented himself in front of her. Once again, this was not what she had expected. In strutted a man in loose, ripped jeans and a baggy t-shirt. He had sandy brown hair that was long and tied back in a ponytail. His eyes were crystal blue. A gorgeous smile was plastered on his face as he took a seat directly in front of her on a bar stool.

“You must be Megan,” he said.

“I am.” She had no idea how to address him or what to say.

“I apologize for keeping you waiting.” He reached over and took a piece of paper from the pile on his desk. “I looked over your application, and I see that you only have a little experience in this lifestyle. Have you ever had a Master?”

“No,” she responded.

Greg’s eyes drifted up and down her body. If she wasn’t feeling self-conscious before, she definitely was now.

“Is something wrong?” he asked.

“No, why?”

“You have to be honest with me or else I won’t even consider you. Trust is very important in a relationship such as you’re wanting to enter into.”

Taking a deep breath, she blurted out, “To be frank, you’re not what I was expecting.”

He chuckled. “Continue.”

“You’re so laid back, your office is not organized, and well, as I said, you are not what I was at all expecting.”

“Tell me then, what were you expecting?”

“A businessman with a powerful job.”

  6. I love Lacey's books and this sounds so different. I read BDSM and love the idea of a painter who isn't organized as a DOM...it really is different than what is normally in books! Can't wait! Do you have any other BDSM books in the works?

    1. I have just a few short stories planned. I am re-releasing Sarah's Chase a short story that was out until my publisher closed. As well as its sequel. I set the ending of Bound By Pleasure up to have a possible next book for a character in there.

  7. This sounds like an interesting story. I think that a lot of people have difficulties at times expressing their emotions, especially for the first time after someone has criticized you for being emotional. I am definitely interested in reading this :)

    1. Thanks. I found a lot of me in Megan. I too don't like to share how I feel and find it difficult. Perhaps I need my own Dom. ;)

Lacey, do you think you will be writing more stories in the BDSM genre? Is there a possibility that Bound by Pleasure will be part of a series?

  11. Great new take on the BDSM theme, I like that your hero is in a way the polar opposite of so many of the Dom's we read. I love that he is an artist yum!

  15. I really like the idea of a sightly disheveled and not-so-organized Dom. Don't get me wrong, I love the alpha males but the uber-professional starts to get a little cookie cutter after awhile.

    Looking forward to reading it!
