Guest Post with Author Sky Purington and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome to the blog, author Sky Purington. Sky is celebrating the recent release of The Tudor Revival and has stopped by to chat. Before I give the floor over to Sky, let's get to know her a big.

Best-selling author, Sky Purington lives in southern New Hampshire with her son and husband. The written word has been her obsession from the very beginning. Purington writes time-travel paranormal/fantasy romance heavily influenced by history.

From Irish Druids to Scottish Highlanders many of her novels possess strong Celtic elements. More recently, her vampire stories take the reader to medieval England and ancient Italy.

Enjoy strictly paranormal romance? Sky's latest novels follow three haunted houses in New England and the sexy ghost hunters determined to make sense of them. Make no mistake, in each and every tale told you'll travel back to another time and revisit the romanticism history holds at its heart.

Thanks so much for having me over! Along my Bewitching Book Tour I’ve been sharing the inspiration behind my Calum’s Curse Trilogy. So what inspired me to write about three haunted houses? None other than my very own haunted Victorian. Built in 1901 by my husband’s great-grandfather, this house is allegedly becoming known as one of the most haunted houses in Derry. Though I’ve already told several ghost stories, I still have a few more up my sleeve. This time I’ll share some of the paranormal experiences that happened not inside but outside.

The most recent unexplainable events include the gates on our new deck being unlocked and opened. Because we have a dog we decided to have these swing gates added at the top of each set of stairs leading down from the deck. Not only are the lock latches tricky for us to open but the gate’s wood swells making it harder to execute the swing. My point? They cannot be opened by wind. With those facts established it’s always a little daunting when we find them mysteriously ajar.

Three times this summer I was standing in the kitchen (right off the deck) doing dishes. Out of the corner of my eye I saw someone walk past the French doors. The first time it happened I assumed it was the guy we’d hired to stain the deck. So I popped my head out to say, “Hi!” Nobody was there yet both gates were open. The next two times it happened I knew no one was home. Again, the gates were open.

Some say that home construction can stir up paranormal activity. This deck had been built a year prior. Could it be the spirits that haunt this house now haunt the deck?

Another unexplainable but fairly consistent event involves hearing footsteps in the yard. Mostly it happens when I walk out to the shed. The first time I experienced this phenomena was about two years ago when my son was four. Halfway between the house and shed, I’d clearly hear what sounded like my son running up behind me. When I turned, nobody was there. The spooky thing? (besides having phantom feet run up behind me *grins*) was that from about the age of two to four, my son always claimed he played with a little boy in the house. My son is an only child! I chalked it up to being his imagination. After all, many children have imaginary friends. It was not until quite recently that I did a little paranormal investigating in this house and discovered that a child is one of three spirits that supposedly haunts this location.

I hope you enjoyed hearing a few of my own true ghost stories. Read more about my haunted Victorian on the ‘Flip Side’ page at my blog, A Writer’s Mind. (

Best Regards,

Is it true love... or is this dark need part of the Tudor's Revival?

A man stuck between worlds.

Ghost hunter and dare-devil, Seth, is flung into the afterlife. His one draw to reality? Alana. He died. She lived. But he can't let go. There is something more than friendship between them and he won't say goodbye.

A woman drawn to the past.

The last thing Alana expects to encounter when she inherits her grandmom's Tudor Revival is the spirit of her deceased best friend and crush, Seth. But everything is not what it appears to be. He is determined to live again. When his investigative team, The Worldwide Paranormal Society shows up at her door, Alana soon learns that she's in for a wild ride.

Calum's curse visits one more house. Things get hotter and more paranormal than ever before. Love, as always, struggles to overcome the odds. Time is limited though and the creature set to destroy Seth and Alana is the most cunning of all.

Will Alana and Seth face humankind's worst fear and survive?
