Places to find Tracy:

Fall—My Favorite Season for…

Fall is my favorite season for so many reasons—cooler temperatures, crackling bonfires, colorful leaves, and candy corn. But for me, it’s also exciting because of Major League Baseball playoffs and the World Series! There’s so much drama in the games. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat. Dashed hopes and wildest dreams come true. Those off-the-charts emotions are the stuff that stories are made of—especially romances. When I wrote The Practice Proposal, my sweet World Series romance, I threw a curve ball in with all the post-season highs and lows. A fake romance that somehow felt like a real one. How would swoony first baseman Cole Collins deal with his unexpected attraction to Liza Sutherland and keep his mind on the playoffs, too? Especially since Liza’s parents own the rival team?

Since the story occurs in the autumn, I eagerly included some of my favorite fall pastimes on Cole’s dates with Liza. A sunset hayride for two. A pond-side fire set for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Mmm. S’mores anyone? Crisp night air and crackling logs. Snuggling in an old quilt, stargazing. Could you resist falling in love?

I’d love to hear about your fantasy autumn date. Please leave a comment and tell us about it. Check out the first date in The Practice Proposal if you’re curious about mine!

The Practice Proposal is the first book in my Suddenly Smitten series, and will soon be available as an audio book. The second story is Tempted in the Tropics featuring Paige Ellerbee, the sassy bakery owner from The Practice Proposal. The last book in the series will be releasing soon! I’m excited to give one lucky winner digital copies of The Practice Proposal and Tempted in the Tropics.

Wishing you a colorful, candy-corn autumn!

Liza Sutherland isn’t looking for love. Not from a charity-auction date she didn’t even bid on and especially not with Nationals first baseman Cole Collins, the guy she obsessed over as an awkward teenager. She won’t get involved with a notorious player, no matter how attractive Cole is.

Cole Collins is up for contract renegotiation, but after too many late-night parties, he’ll need some positive publicity before he can make the roster. His agent, Frank, pitches Liza as the perfect prop…only Cole didn’t account for Liza no longer being just a teenager with a crush. She’s gorgeous and smart and he’s instantly hooked.

When Frank makes Liza a deal she can’t refuse—a bet she will fall in love with Cole or a cool half mil goes to charity—the game is on. But neither bet on the real feelings that surface. Could a fake fling turn into an official forever?

  1. My favorite fall date would be taking a walk around this big lake we have about 30 minutes away. It takes about 2 hours to go all the way around but when the leaves are changing it is such a beautiful walk.

  2. My favorite season is fall too and my fall fantasy would be curling up outdoors with a swoon-worthy someone by a campfire, roasting some s'mores and just enjoying each other's company with a few toe curling kisses now and then.

  3. I love Fall as well, not just because of the wonderful colors of the trees, but also because of the beautiful night skies. I know it sounds weird, but I once had to work a night shift and I got somehow got locked outside (this was in the day when there were no cell phones, btw!)...long story short, I had nothing to do but wait for someone to rescue me, and I had the most gorgeous view of the the night sky, which was a deep cerulean blue that when eventually turned into a sky that held a meteor shower that I got to view. So now, every October I look for that sky and I am never disappointed. My dream date for this would be someone hot (Hmmm, someone like Chris Hemsworth, maybe?) to view this with me.

  5. I love the fall because of the colors and the crisp scent of the air. I'd love to have a date that includes a cider mill. Fresh cider and donuts by a bonfire sounds about perfect. :)

  7. In the fall, all dates should include some outdoor activity -- pretty much anything outside (other than straight up work) is good. :-)

  8. I'd have to say, taking a long walk with my dog and coming home and curling under warm blankets with a good book, my dog and a pumpkin spice latte :) Thanks for sharing!

  9. I love reading sports romances, so I'm definitely adding this one to my TBR list. As for fall fantasy date, a walk in the park then drinking hot chocolate while watching the sun set sounds wonderful!
