Cindi Madsen is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting, revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a pretty new pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music and dancing and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband, three children, & an adorable one-eyed kitty named Agent Fury.

I’m so happy to be here to talk about my first love!
Here’s a little bit about him: He’s from a place called Prince Edward Island, has dark curly hair, and while the first impression he makes might be a bit rocky, he knows when he likes a girl and even waits for her to realize she likes him back when she’s looking at other less worthy men. As for me, I fell for him the instant I first saw him. Or mentally visualized seeing him, as it were. Another bonus, he’s not scared by girls with a bit of a temper. Like say he calls said girl “Carrots” and she slams her chalkboard over his head. He forgives her, because he kind of deserves it.
And when he finds the same girl clinging to a bridge post after a dreadfully romantic poem reading & boating send off where the boat sinks, he simply helps her in his boat.
In the mini-series version, he’s equally as swoon-worthy.
In case you haven’t figured it out yet, my first love was Gilbert Blythe.
I mean come on…
What’s also fun about my love for Gilbert Blythe, one of my first book boyfriends, is that Anne of Green Gables is the book series that made me really fall in love with reading. I had a great teacher, who noticed I was a bit bored reading other things in class, and she brought in her very own copies of the books and entrusted them to me.
There’s something that also bonds fans of this series together. Like when I really wanted to watch the mini-series a handful of years ago and went into the library I frequent, the librarian told me that if she couldn’t get them from another library (since their DVDs were missing) she’d bring in her own copy and let me borrow it. How amazing is that?
Tell me who your first book boyfriend was, and you’ll be entered to win an e-copy of any one of my books—your choice.
Former quarterback Lance Quaid just inherited the most losing team in the NFL. He’s got only a few weeks until draft day to turn things around, and after firing more than half his staff, he can’t do it alone. Thankfully, his HR manager is more than capable, if only she’d stop focusing on “due diligence” and stop looking so sexy while she’s yelling at him.
Charlotte James has made a life out of following the rules. But nothing could have prepared her for Lance Quaid—he’s a human resources nightmare. The man is brash, has no filter, and, as her new boss, is constantly relying on her to cover his ass. Which is admittedly quite nice.
When Lance begs her to join him on a trip down the coast for his brother’s wedding so they can finalize details—on a strictly business basis—she agrees...after they fill out the necessary forms, of course. Away from the office, though, sparks start flying as the team starts coming together. But both of them know anything more than the weekend would be a colossally bad idea—after all, the extra paperwork would be a nightmare.
