Our First Love

Happy 8th Bloggerversary to Dani, and thanks for having us at Ramblings to celebrate and dish about first loves.

It just so happens that Robin and I share the same first love. Not to mean we shared him, per se, (although maybe that’s not off the table), but our little pre-teen hearts pined for the same monument of masculinity known as…Shaun Cassidy.

Why? Well, he was super-cute with that sweet, pop-star smile and baby face. He sang hit songs! (Da Doo Ron Ron, anyone? Remember)? He acted! (Hardy Boys Mysteries, you guys)! He filled out a wide-collared shirt and bell-bottom jeans like nobody’s business! (See picture).

Sadly, our love was largely unrequited as we were not so lucky to meet Shaun when he was a single man, much less entice him into returning our affections. Although, Robin did actually meet him a few years ago at her son’s baseball game, and every mom in attendance was like, “OMG!” He was there with his wife and small kids, and very friendly with everyone, so our affections were not misplaced.

If you can’t get enough of first-love stories, we are so happy and proud to offer you another in the form of our new release, PROMISE ME. It’s our first joint project and we can wait for you to read this sexy contemporary romance. And if our hero, Vaughn, turns out to be your Shaun Cassidy, our job is done!

xoxo
Sam & Robin

He’ll promise her a summer she won’t forget...

Instead of soaking up the SoCal sunshine while housesitting for my aunt, I’m dealing with a Pomeranian who thinks she’s a Pitbull, two half-sisters who would happily prune me off the family tree, and him. Vaughn Shaughnessy. Hot model about to go nuclear, dangerously sexy flirt whose perceptive green eyes promise he’s more than just a pretty face. He’s the kind of walking, talking temptation I should avoid, but that’s impossible because he also happens to be my extremely lickable—I mean likeable—neighbor.

He’s turning me into a hot mess.

Thing is, I can’t handle more messes in my life. I’m still trying to come to terms with the monumental ones in my past, and getting involved with Vaughn—even for temporary summer fun—is guaranteed to get messy. I don’t dare risk it, but I’m not sure I can resist…

  2. LOL! I had a crush on Johnny Quest when I was growing up. Yes, a cartoon character. And, also unrequited. Promise Me sounds like a wonderful read! How did it work writing it as a joint venture? Did ya'll alternate chapters and the other critiqued? Or???
