ARC Review: What I Need by J. Daniels

What I Need is the newest standalone story in the Alabama Summer series by J. Daniels, and I have been waiting for this book! If you are a fan of this series, this is CJ's book and I couldn't wait to get to know him even better. This book was everything that I had hoped it would be and I think fans are going to love his story just as much as I did. Don't worry about jumping in here though if you haven't read the previous books, you do not need to have read them to understand anything here. I do recommend reading the previous books though as you get to know all the characters and they are great books! 

Riley and CJ had a super hot wedding hookup that didn't go as planned. Riley thought that she and her boyfriend had broken up and CJ thought that their time together was the start of something more. But when Riley discovers things weren't as over as she thought, she begs CJ to keep things a secret from everyone. Then everything changes and Riley can no longer avoid CJ. When she is forced to face her feelings and the fact that she can't get him out of her head, Riley must decide what her future looks like and if things between her and CJ can remain friendly or if their one night together is more than she ever expected. 

I really loved CJ! He was sweet and sexy, and just a genuinely good guy! Everything that I had loved about him before was here in this book, but honestly he was just so much more. I loved the fact that his heroine was Reed's sister. It just all fit so perfectly and I thought that Riley was exactly what he needed. Riley was a bit frustrating for me for the first half of the book though. There were times I wanted to shake her, even though I did understand some of why she was the way she was. But honestly seeing her really get to know CJ and the type of guy he was was so worth it in the end. These two had a genuine connection and off the charts chemistry. I really enjoyed seeing things develop at a natural pace and it never felt rushed or forced. These two were so right together. 

Overall, this was a great addition to the series and I could not have loved CJ more. This book was definitely worth the wait. I enjoyed seeing familiar faces as well, and getting to check in with all my favorites. Honestly though, CJ just might be my new favorite! He is what you always hope for in a book boyfriend, and I think readers are going to love him! I cannot recommend this series enough, and I can hardly wait to read more from J. Daniels in the future.

ARC Review: Hit the Spot by J. Daniels

I have been a fan of J. Daniels since the first book I read from her. She never disappoints, and Hit the Spot was no different. This book is the second in her Dirty Deeds series, but each book is a standalone so you can jump in at any time. If you have read the first book though, you will recognize both Tori and Jamie. 

After a bad experience, Tori has trust issues and isn't looking to start anything with a man, especially one like Jamie. Known for going after what he wants and getting it, Jamie is as big of a player as he is a sexy surfer. But Jamie wants Tori and is used to getting what he wants. Tori wants Jamie, yet after everything she has been through she knows that Jamie is the last thing she needs. But with Jamie's determination to win Tori over, is it only a matter of time before he gets her let her guard down where he is concerned? When Tori finally gives in will there be more between them, or will it all just have been a game that Jamie was determined to win?

I really liked these two. Tori had been hurt and had trust issues that anyone would understand. I really felt for her and all that she had been through, and I loved that she was cautious about falling for Jamie but was unable to fight what was between them. Jamie was great as well. His determination and laid back nature were super sexy, and I couldn't get enough of his pursuit of Tori. These two had a ton of chemistry and such a strong connection, and I really loved seeing them circle around one another while their relationship progressed. 

Overall, this one was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. These two had a great connection and story, and I would definitely recommend it, especially if you have read the first book in the series. J. Daniels has a way with words and writes such sexy yet emotional and fun stories. Hit the Spot was good and I already can't wait to read more from J. Daniels.

ARC Review: Sweet Obsession by J. Daniels

Sweet Obsession is the third book in the Sweet Addiction series by J. Daniels, and it also crosses over with the Alabama Summer Series. It can be read as a standalone though with no problems. While I have read and enjoyed the Alabama Summer Series, I am new to the Sweet Addiction Series. I really enjoyed this book though, and I cannot wait to read more! J. Daniels is quickly becoming a favorite of mine with her sexy stories, and this one was so good! 

Brooke Wicks loves to have a good time. She isn't looking for anything serious, so when she meets the sexy Aussie Mason King she can't wait to have a little sexy fun. But Mason King has done the casual thing in the past and is looking for more. Upon meeting the fun and feisty Brooke, he is determined to get more from her than just a one time hookup and makes it known that he isn't down for just a single night together. Though Brooke makes it clear that she is ready and willing, Mason is willing to do whatever it takes to get to know Brooke and sets out to win her over. But can Mason convince her to give a relationship a chance?

I really loved these two as individuals and I loved them even more together. Brooke was fun and confident, and I really loved how comfortable she was in her own skin. But she also had some insecurities that most never saw. Her friends and Mason were super supportive of her, but there were times that it really came out how much things affected her. Mason was sexy and sweet, and I loved how great he was with Brooke. He really wanted to get to know her in more than just a physical way, and he had a way of convincing her to give things a chance. I thought that both of them made some mistakes here, but the connection growing between these two was so great to see. The chemistry between them was insane, and every single moment they were together was filled with the best kind of tension. Mason was wanting more than just sex, but when it came to these two being together he was absolutely hot! I loved his dirty talk and how natural things were between him and Brooke. 

Overall, this was a really good story. I enjoyed the funny times as well as the sweet and sexy ones. This one had it all, and I really loved Brooke and Mason. I did think that both Brooke and Mason handled a few things poorly here though, and I was a bit frustrated with them at times. Mason was trying so hard, and yet Brooke was always running scared from anything serious with him even though it was already happening. I didn't really understand her issues with commitment, when it seemed like she had never really had anything happen to her to make it that way. There was no huge and painful breakup from her past, and she had never been in love. So I just didn't really understand where all the fear was coming from. I still really enjoyed the story though, and I can't wait to read more from J. Daniels in the future.

Review: Where I Belong by J. Daniels

I really don't know what to think about this book. It was an okay read for me but at the same time I found it extremely difficult to put down. It was kind of like crack for me. I will say that I really enjoyed that authors voice and found that it was easy to get swept away in her world. I think what ruined this book for me was the characters and the plot. Honestly it was kind of a hot mess and it had me shaking my head no more than once.

First let me just say that Ben was a bit much for me at times. I found that he was kind of one dimensional and didn't really do anything for me. He was a bit too caveman-like and I found him to be kind of irritating in his Alpha ways. Let me explain. He's constantly "claiming" Mia as his. While normally I don't mind this but for some reason it just irritated me in this book. Maybe because I felt like his feelings was a bit of insta-love like and I just never really got a true sense that he cared for Mia. Don't get me wrong, I get that he likes her but why? The author never really delves into that. They essentially have a hot one night stand (where they don't even exchange names) and yet the next day he's head over heels and done for. I just didn't buy it.

As for Mia I felt like she went from hating Ben and I mean HATING Ben to in love with him. It essentially feels like it's overnight and I just didn't buy it. I also didn't buy into the fact that she held on to her virginity until she was 23 just to lose it to some random hot guy in a bar just because she doesn't want her childhood best friend to make fun of her. I mean what!?! Who does that? Also, not only does she lose her virginity but it's like the best sex ever. Seriously?! I don't buy it.

Another thing that bothered me about this book is just how gross Tessa (Mia's bestie/Ben's sister) is when it comes to Mia and Ben's sex life. Some of the things she asks/says about her brothers anatomy left a bad taste in my mouth and just seemed bizarre. What sister wants to know the size of her brothers penis? Ugh.

All in all this book was just okay for me. Will I read another by J. Daniels, absolutely. In fact, I've got the next book ready to go on my Kindle. But do I recommend? That I'm not so sure about. Like I said before, for some reason I found this book to be like crack and even though I had a lot of issues with it I can't help but want to read more.

ARC Review: When I Fall by J. Daniels

When I Fall is the third book in the Alabama Summer Series by J. Daniels. Each book can be read as a standalone with interconnected characters. I hadn't read any of the previous books in the series before starting this one but after reading this one, I know I will be going back and reading them in the future. I really enjoyed this book, and I am looking forward to reading the other books and getting to know some of these characters better. 

For the past nine years, Reed has kept things with women casual. He doesn't sleep with them more than once, he doesn't kiss them, and as soon as the sun rises he kicks them out. But when he sees a pretty brunette across the bar, he knows he has to have her next. Reed is instantly drawn to Beth, but when his ex comes walking into the bar things quickly spin out of control. Seeing his reaction, Beth tells his ex that they are dating and accepts an invitation to her engagement party. Reed has no plans to attend and isn't willing to have any kind of relationship, even a fake one. But his friends help him realize that this might be the chance to show his ex that he is better off without her once and for all. But the more Reed gets to know Beth, the more he can't stop thinking about her. Soon Reed begins to see that with Beth around his heart is no longer safe, and he might not be able to keep things as casual as he hoped.

I really liked Reed. He might have been a total manwhore at the start of this book, but it was clear right away that he had been badly hurt in the past. He was doing his best to keep himself from experiencing that kind of pain again. I loved how he was with his friends and their kids though. You got to see a completely different side of him when he was around them, and he was absolutely adorable with Nolan. I thought that Beth was a really good match for him, and she had him off balance right from the start. It was clear that she was different for him, and I was glad that he took the chance to get to know her instead of pushing her away. Beth was easy to like, and I found myself rooting from her right from the start. She hadn't had an easy life growing up, and yet she was so sweet. I loved her relationship with her aunt and uncle, and I really liked how instantly protective they were of her. But I also liked that she wasn't your typical heroine, and I think that was what made me like her so much. She wasn't a total girly girl, and I loved that she was more comfortable in her boots than in a dress and heels. These two had a great connection right from the start, and I also thought that their chemistry was off the charts. Reed and Beth were super hot together and I couldn't get enough of them. I really enjoyed seeing these two get to know one another and how they began to fall for each other. 

Overall, this was a really good book. I was drawn in right from the start, and I really liked the characters. I thought that there were some really cute moments throughout this book, and Nolan was a huge part of that. I really loved him around Reed, and I thought that they were so cute. I love when a relationship starts off fake and then the hero and heroine end up falling for one another, and this was such a good book that didn't feel like anything I have read before. It was fresh and fun, and I was able to lose myself in this story. I can't wait to read more from J. Daniels after reading this book. It is the first that I have read from Daniels, but it definitely won't be my last. I would absolutely recommend this story, and I can't wait for more from this series.
