ARC Review: Love Profound by Kelly Elliott

Love Profound is the second book in the Cowboys & Angels Series by Kelly Elliott. Each book is a standalone story and is easily understood on their own. Though I will say that the charactes are interconnected and for full enjoyment I would recommend reading in order if possible, even though it isn't necessary. I am loving this family that Kelly has created and I am looking forward to more in this world. 

Amelia is the baby of the Parker family and while she writes romance, she doesn't believe in it. After having her heart broken, she prefers to keep it to her stories. Wade is trying to figure out what to do next with his life, so when he gets an opportunity to change his scenery he jumps at the chance. When Amelia and Wade meet, they both find themselves drawn to one another. But can Wade show Amelia that love is real and can be found in more than just her books? 

I will admit that I struggled at times with this book, and part of that was Amelia. Though I love the Parker family and this world that Kelly has created, I found it hard at times to relate to Amelia. She came off a bit immature at times and that didn't help anything for me. I really liked Wade though, and he made up for a lot of that. He was sweet and genuinely good, and that is something I find irresistible in a hero. He had been through a lot, and it was great to see him moving forward with his life after it all. These two did have chemistry and a connection, but I wasn't fully invested because of Amelia. 

While I did enjoy this book, it didn't have quite the same feel as the first in the series did for me. Besides Amelia, I wasn't entirely sure why the Liam situation was even a part of this story. It felt unnecessary and as though there really wasn't a reason for it. I also felt like there really wasn't much conflict at all here in this story, and that had it feeling a bit flat for me. While I did still like the story, it just didn't have the spark that I normally feel with Kelly's books. I will say though that she definitely knows how to write heroes that are swoon worthy and impossible not to fall for and that was definitely the case with Wade. This one was good, and I think fans of the first book will enjoy this one.

ARC Review: Lost Love by Kelly Elliott

Lost Love is the first book in the new Cowboys & Angels series by Kelly Elliott. I was really excited to read this one as it happens to be one of my favorite tropes, second chance romance. While there was a lot to enjoy here, there were a few things that didn't work as well for me and while I liked Lost Love, I didn't love it. I think that it had a lot of promise, but for me it just didn't quite deliver on that. 

Steed Parker never expected to wind up back at home on his parents cattle ranch in Texas, but now that he is back he knows it is where he belongs. He left town after breaking his high school girlfriend's heart, but he has never stopped loving her. When he finds himself face to face with Paxton, he knows he will do whatever it takes to win her back. But Paxton has never been able to get over how he hurt her and left her when she needed him the most. Can Steed show Paxton that he is around for good and that he will never hurt her again?

I will admit that part of my problem here was Steed. It was hard for me to get over a few of the things he did, and I really felt like he had dug this huge hole that he was trying to dig himself out of right from the very first page here. While I did feel like he was able to redeem himself for the most part, a part of me still struggled with everything that had happened. I really felt for Paxton and unfortunately I don't know that I would have been able to forgive and move forward as easily as she did which made it hard for me to relate here. These two did have chemistry and a connection, but I just found it hard to get over some of what had happened.

The other thing that I had some issues with was that there really wasn't a lot of conflict here, and at times it felt like things were simply too easy to be entirely believable. There was really only one incident that could have created some conflict and it was resolved almost as quickly as it had started. I just felt like after everything that had happened Paxton let go of it all far more easily than I would have or what I felt like most people would have. While it was clear that there were still feelings there and that she loved him, he had done something that was really hard to move past and the consequences of that continued to have ramifications on their future and I felt like Paxton just let it go really easy. I did like them together and there were some really sweet moments here, and I do think that there are a lot of readers who will love this one. While this one wasn't my favorite of Kelly's, I will definitely read more from her in the future.

ARC Review: Only With Me by Kelly Elliott

Only With Me is the second book in Kelly Elliott's With Me series, but each book is a standalone story. After reading and loving Stay With Me though, I couldn't wait to get more in this world. Only With Me was such a great story, and Kelly Elliott continues to prove why she is a go-to author when it comes to contemporary romance for me. 

Nic was content living life as a bachelor and a SWAT officer, his dream job, until he walked into Gabi's bakery. Everything changed for him when he met her, but then his very traditional and Greek family got involved. With Gabi being Italian, his family was determined to prove that they didn't belong together. As if their differences in heritage weren't enough, Gabi has a past that has kept her running for the last several years. Can Nic keep her safe and show her that they have a future together, or are there too many obstacles for them to overcome? 

I really liked these two. This was definitely a case of insta-love, and yet it really worked in this case. I felt like these two belonged together and that they just fit. Nic and Gabi were super hot together, and the chemistry was what had me hooked from the very first page. But they were so much more than that, and I really enjoyed seeing them get to know one another and watching as their connection continued to strengthen as they got to know one another. 

Overall, this book was so cute and fun. It was a great light read, with a little bit of suspense thrown in that kept things interesting. Once I started, I didn't want to put it down. I have really enjoyed everything that I have read from Kelly Elliott, and she is definitely an author that I recommend checking out if you have never read any of her books. Only With Me is definitely worth the read, and I think fans new and old will really enjoy this one.

ARC Review: The Playbook by Kelly Elliott

I am a huge fan of Kelly Elliott's, so I couldn't wait to read The Playbook! Not only do I love Kelly's books, but sports romance is something I can never get enough of. There was a lot to like about this story and I really enjoyed it. The Playbook is a standalone story. 

As head football coach for a top college in Texas, Brett Owens can get pretty much any woman that he wants. Not only can he get plenty of women, but he takes full advantage of that. But when Aubrey Cain, a sideline reporter, is assigned to cover him he knows things are about to change. Not only does he not want her following him around, but he finds it impossible to fight the attraction that he feels to her. With things heating up between them, both Aubrey and Brett begin to wonder if the growing connection between them is a game that they can win, or if it will cause them both to lose everything. 

I liked both Aubrey and Brett. I will admit that there was quite a bit of drama here with others though, and I know some readers shy away from that. I still really enjoyed the story, though things were a bit frustrating at times because of that. Luckily though, there was more to each of these characters than just the drama and that kept me invested in this story. They had great chemistry and I loved the connection between them. Brett was hot, but had some really sweet moments as well which was really nice to see. 

Overall, this was a good book and I did enjoy it. It wasn't my favorite from Kelly Elliott, and there were times that it did feel as though it was a bit disjointed. Some of the drama seemed all over the place and a bit too much at times, but I still really liked the characters. I think that fans of Kelly Elliott's will enjoy this book, and if you like sports romance stories, this is one worth checking out. This definitely won't be the last I read from Kelly Elliott, and I look forward to seeing what she writes next.

ARC Review: Searching for Harmony by Kelly Elliott

I am a huge fan of Kelly Elliott's and I have really enjoyed every story I have read from her. Searching for Harmony was no different, and I couldn't put this book down. It was emotional and well written, and was every bit as great as what I have come to expect from anything with her name on it. Searching for Harmony is the first book in her new Boston Love series, and I honestly can't wait for more.

Harmony Banks has lost everything before, but when a tragic accident once again upends her life she knows that nothing will ever be the same. After she finds out that things weren't as she had though, Harmony finds that the only person that makes things better is Preston Ward, the firefighter and first responder that saved her life the night of the horrific accident. Preston thought that he knew how to keep his emotions out of his job, but the accident that introduced him to Harmony changed everything for him. He finds himself unable to stay away from her, and his feelings for her continue to grow with every day that they spend together. But can Preston and Harmony leave the past behind and move forward together with all that they have been through? 

I really loved Preston! He was absolutely amazing, the kind of stuff that book boyfriends are made of all rolled into one fantastic hero! He was sweet, kind, patient, and also unbelievably sexy. He was so perfect for Harmony, as though he was made just for her. I loved that the connection between Preston and Harmony was instant, yet their relationship was slow to build. These two took their time and I think that was what made their relationship so real and genuine. You could see the chemistry between them and that their connection continued to grow as the book progressed, yet they also didn't rush anything and that was exactly what they both needed. Harmony was so strong despite all that she had been through, and while she had her moments of weakness, Preston helped her to live again. These two had every right to be scared about the future, and yet together they were able to work through those fears and face the world with the help of the other. 

The one thing I will say is that there were a few times that the actions of the characters frustrated me. But after everything that they had seen and been through, it was understandable that they would act in those ways. I didn't always like it, but I did see where they were coming from. This story was a very emotional read, and it is one of my favorite Kelly Elliott books. I highly recommend anything by Kelly Elliott, and I think fans of emotional contemporary romance will love this book as much as I did. I am already anxious for the next book in this series and I can't wait to see what Kelly Elliott has in store for us next.

ARC Review: Stay With Me by Kelly Elliott

Stay With Me by Kelly Elliott was a lot of fun to read and I really enjoyed it. This book is a standalone story which I found really refreshing. I do think that Kelly could turn this one into a series very easily though, and I have to admit I would love to see Thanos's brothers get their own stories and even his best friend Gus. 

Thanos and Kilyn both have had pain and heartbreak unlike anyone should ever have to go through. They are both still struggling to deal with their pasts when they meet, but the connection between them is one unlike anything they have felt before. Fate keeps bringing them together, and soon they find themselves wanting to explore what is between them, yet torn with moving on from the past. 

I really liked these two. Each of them had been through so much and I was so glad that they had met. Thanos was sexy and sweet and he was really great with Kilyn. He understood her and was patient with her when she needed that, and I really admired that about him. I also liked that even when he messed up, he wasn't afraid to admit it or try to make it right. Kilyn was a great heroine as well. Sweet and kind, she had gone through so much and yet it hadn't stopped her from living her life. She was passionate about so many things, and it was really great to see someone who had gone through what she did and yet still really live her life. These two had really strong chemistry, but it was the emotional connection between them that was really special here. They were super cute together, and I loved that Thanos spoke to her in Greek and had a pet name for her. 

Overall, this book was adorable if a bit cheesy at times. Honestly though I really liked it and sometimes I just want a super sweet romance story, and Stay With Me was definitely it! I liked Thanos and Kilyn as well as their friends and family. Though his family was overbearing at times, it was clear just how much they loved one another and it was so great to see how they accepted Kilyn right away just because Thanos loved her. If you liked My Big Fat Greek Wedding, you will love this book! It had a very similar feel and was a ton of fun to read. It was sweet and heartwarming and full of love and hope. Kelly Elliott is a great writer and I recommend any of her books. I already can't wait for the next one from her!

ARC Review: Loving You by Kelly Elliott

Loving You is the conclusion to the Wanted, Broken, and Love Wanted in Texas series from Kelly Elliott. While I have been looking forward to this book for awhile now, I have also been dreading it. It is so bittersweet to get the conclusion to a favorite series, and while It was great to see so many familiar faces it was also really hard to say goodbye to this amazing world that Kelly Elliott has created. 

Taylor Atwood and Jase Morris knew the moment that they met that there was something special between them. But Jase pushed Taylor away at every opportunity because he never believed that he was good enough for her and there were things that he was scared would ruin them before they ever got started. Just as they finally seem to have found a way to be together though, tragedy strikes threatening to tear apart the future they were planning together. 

I really loved these two. I will admit that I was a little annoyed with Jase at the beginning of this story. I wanted to shake him for doing some of the dumb things he did. But he is a typical guy and they sometimes do really stupid things. Luckily though, he was able to come back from that and he won me over as he did with Taylor. I never once questioned the feelings these two had for one another. Though they had obstacles and both did some things that I didn't like, their feelings for each other were so genuine. They had such a strong connection and the chemistry between them just made things that much more intense between them. They were smoking hot together, and I loved that Jase was so great with Taylor. He was really sweet and I couldn't get enough of them together. 

I will say that things tend to be a bit on the cheesy side at times with Kelly Elliott's books, and Loving You was no exception. Luckily for me that isn't a deal breaker, and I actually enjoy a bit of that. There were a few times that it felt a bit much though, and I think if you don't care for super sweet romance stories that it could be a bit of an issue at times with her books. I love the emotion she brings to her stories though, and her heroes are so sweet they will make you swoon. I am definitely excited to see what Kelly Elliott has in store next, and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. Though I am sad that this was the conclusion to such a great group of characters, I know I will reread these books over and over again in the future. If you haven't read the Wanted, Broken, and Love Wanted in Texas series they are definitely worth looking into for fans of contemporary and NA romance. If you have read some of all of these books though, this book is a must read.

ARC Review: Chasing You by Kelly Elliott

Chasing You is the fifth book in the Love Wanted in Texas series. This series is a spin-off of Kelly Elliott's Wanted series featuring the children of the characters from the Wanted series. While it isn't necessary to read these books in order, I would recommend it if possible. Each book is a standalone story though. 

Meagan Atwood and Grayson Bennett first met when Meagan was on a girls trip with her friends. They reconnected later when she ran into him at her friend Grace's house, as he was the cousin of Grace's guy Noah. Their friendship grew from there, and their relationship quickly turned into them being best friends with benefits. But both of them know that what they feel is so much more. But then Grayson's newest coworker turns out to the be the awful girl that made Meg's life a living hell in college, and it appears that Grayson is dating her. But Grayson only wants Meg, and is determined to show her that it is for more than just the benefits. What neither of them could have predicted was a danger they never expected to threaten to take everything that they had found together.

I loved these two together so much! Meagan had never been my favorite of the series, and yet the more that we learned about her here, the more I began to love her. She was so much more than her facade and the impression she had made on me previously, and I really loved that we got to see a whole new side to her character. There was so much that had shaped who she was, and I felt so badly for her and all she had been put through. But I loved how it changed her and the person she became because of that. Grayson was sexy and sweet, and I adored him as well. He was perfect for Meg, and I loved how he wanted no one but her. Their chemistry was off the charts, and they already had such a great friendship and connection. But seeing them really admit their feelings and take the chance on a relationship together was so enjoyable to read about. 

The one thing I will say is that at the beginning of this book I didn't really understand why these two could admit to wanting more with one another and yet they were struggling so much with actually doing it. I understand being scared and not wanting to ruin things, but at the same time that didn't feel like the case here. It was a bit confusing why they would admit to wanting one another yet put each other in the friend zone, but luckily it didn't last long. I couldn't get enough of these two and I really liked how things ended up. There was a lot that happened here that I didn't see coming, and it was an emotional read. I felt like I was so invested in these characters and they were going through so much that I couldn't help but feel so strongly about it all. Kelly Elliott is a fantastic writer, and I love that she always brings out all the emotions because you are so invested in her stories. I already can't wait for the next book in this series, though I am sad as well since it will be the last. I am having a tough time coming to terms with the fact that I have to let these characters go, but I know that I will go back and reread their stories over and over again in the future. This series is one of my favorites, and if you are looking for good NA or Contemporary Romance stories that bring all the feels this series is a must read.

ARC Review: Ignite by Kelly Elliott

I love Kelly Elliott's books, and I was so excited when I found out she was doing a series that centered around racing. Having grown up around racing, there is nothing sexier than a man who knows how to handle speed. This book was everything I had hoped for and more, which was exactly what I have come to know and expect from Kelly Elliott. Ignite was the perfect start to her new Speed series, and I cannot wait for the next book to get Malcolm's story!

Emmit Lewis and Adaline Morgan had loved each other most of their lives. On the biggest day of his racing career, he asked her to marry him and she turned him down. Adaline knew that she couldn't give up her dream for his, regardless of how much she loved him. But three years later she knew that it was the biggest regret of her life, and she was determined to win him back. Now that Addie was back, Emmit knew more than ever that they belonged together. Though Emmit and Adaline were both ready for their second chance, they quickly found out that there were several obstacles that still threatened to stand in their way.

I really loved these two. The love between Emmit and Addie was clear right from the start. It hadn't dimmed or diminished with time and distance. Although they each had been hurt by the way things had ended, their connection was just as intense as it always had been. Emmit and Adaline loved each other with their whole hearts, and I loved that they had such history together. They knew one another inside and out, and loved each other through it all. Though things might have been bleak at times, they never stopped hoping that things would work out. These two had such a strong bond, but they also had off the charts chemistry as well. These two really were perfect for one another in every aspect, and they generated a serious amount of steam here! 

Overall, Ignite was another great read from Kelly Elliott. I always love her stories because while they do have drama and angst, they are also filled with such strong characters and relationships. The love between her characters is always undeniable, and I know that I will be in for a sweet and sexy read that doesn't disappoint. I really loved the characters here, and the camaraderie between the race teams was so much fun to read about! If you are a fan of racing, you will love this book! But even if you aren't a fan of racing, there is so much to enjoy here and you will find a love story that is impossible to put down. I can't wait to get to know Malcolm better, and I just know that I am going to enjoy watching him fall hard in the next Speed book, Adrenaline.
