My life has revolved around the two things I've always loved: whiskey and rugby. Now the marriage clause in my Da's will has me putting both on the back burner if I want to save the Murphy's Pub empire and find a wife.As the last brother to get married, I need a little help, and that's where my sister-in-law's American best friend, Leah, comes into the picture. She could use a little Irish luck after the deceitful things her ex did to her that brought her to Ireland. With her take-no-shite-attitude, she's just the type of girl to help me find a wife. That is, if I can remember she’s the matchmaker and not the match.

ARC Review: The One That Got Away by Magan Vernon
The One That Got Away is the fourth book in the Friendship, Texas series by Magan Vernon. Each book is a standalone story and you don't need to worry about reading them in order to understand anything. This was a sweet second chance romance and there was a lot to enjoy here.
Jordan and Abbey were high school sweethearts until he left her behind to got to New York to follow his dreams. Left with a broken heart, Abbey struggled to find her way and move forward with her life. But now four years later they run into each other at an estate sale, and Jordan is determined to get Abbey back. But can they possibly have a second chance after everything that has happened?
I liked Abbey and Jordan. I thought that they had a lot of chemistry and a great connection. Abbey was really sweet, and was the kind of girl who saw the best in others. She was caring and kind, trusting others to a fault at times. Jordan was sexy and once we got to know him a bit better I understood him and what he did even if I didn't always like it. I thought that they were really great together and it was clear that there were other things going on that kept them from being together, rather than the fact that they no longer cared for one another. It was good to see that their connection was still there after everything.
I will say that at times I struggled with some of the secondary characters though, and there were some I really disliked. This was especially true when it came to Abbey's friends, and a lot of the time I hated how things went down with them. I still liked the story though, and I think that this is one that readers will enjoy. If you are a fan of this series, you will want to check this one out. If you are new to the series or Magan Vernon though, this is one worth taking a chance on.

ARC Review: One Wild Night by Magan Vernon
One Wild Night is the first portion of a six part serial by Magan Vernon. I was originally drawn to this story by its beautiful cover. I absolutely loved it! But after reading the blurb, I really wanted to read this one because it sounded like a really fun read. I haven't really read many serials, because the thought of being left in the middle of something and having to wait for each installment is almost enough to kill me. But after reading this first installment, I am glad that I gave this one a shot and I am looking forward to seeing where Magan Vernon takes Wes and Valerie.
Valerie Wilder is in Vegas for her job as a PR assistant. When the girls she works with get some tickets to a contest for the best abs in Vegas, Valerie is looking forward to spending the night checking out some hot guys. But when Valerie and her friends end up judging the contest she comes face to face with the hot stripper and contestant Wild Wild Wes. Wes ends up winning the contest and everyone goes to celebrate after. Wes and Valerie end up spending some time together while drinking and the next thing they know, they are running off to get married. Valerie wakes the next morning and at first doesn't remember what happened, but after she finally does she is determined to get a quickie divorce. But since neither her nor Wes are residents of Nevada, they are forced to go to either state they are from in order to file. Valerie and Wes decide to head to Valerie's home in Illinois in order to get it taken care of. Valerie is convinced that a marriage to Wes will never work. Wes however seems to be more optimistic. What will happen when they get to Illinois and start living together? Will they end up getting the divorce, or will their quickie marriage end up becoming real?
I liked Wes a lot. Even though he is a stripper, he was really only doing it to make money after his parents kicked him out of the house. He wants to pursue a career as a musician and was just briefly stopping in Vegas on his way to LA. I liked that he was nice and sweet to not only Valerie, but to everyone he seemed to interact with. He was extremely charming and seemed like a down to earth good southern guy. I am not quite sure where I stand as far as Valerie goes yet. I liked her at times, but then at other times I had some issues with her. I think that she seems like she is a little too uptight, but then at other times she seems to just let go and have some fun. I understand that waking up married was a huge shock for her and that she was struggling with that, but at times she was a little bit mean and degrading to Wes. I didn't care for that side of her, but I do understand that part of that is just because of her situation. Wes and Valerie do have good chemistry together though. Even though there wasn't a ton of physical interaction, I enjoyed the ones there were and thought that they were steamy. I feel like we don't really get to know either Wes or Valerie very much since this part is so short, but I am excited to see more of them as their story progresses.
Overall, I thought that this was definitely a promising start to this serial. I am looking forward to reading more about Wes and Valerie and I can't wait to find out what happens with them. I hope that as we get more into this story that Valerie changes a bit and stops treating Wes the way she did in this one. One minute she is bitchy to him and about him and the next she is taking advantage of how hot he is and the fact that they are married. I also hope that she stops with her constant mentioning of the fact that no guys have ever wanted more than sex from her because she is a "thick girl". I like that she is real and that she is not model thin. I know that there are guys out there who judge things like that, but there are also plenty of guys out there who like a woman for who she is and not her body type. Wes seems to like her as she is, and I hope that she realizes that sooner rather than later. I recommend giving this serial a shot if you are looking for a fun romance read. I am looking forward to the next portion of this serial and can't wait to see what Valerie and Wes are up to next.

ARC Review: Off the Market by Magan Vernon
Off the Market by Magan Vernon is a Christmas themed novella. This one was short and sweet and definitely puts you in the mood for the holidays. I haven't ever read anything by Magan Vernon before so I wasn't sure exactly what her writing style was like, but I ended up liking it and thought that the characters were likable. This novella is a cute read if you are looking for some Christmas spirit and a little bit of second chance romance.
Etta can't believe that she is being asked to show a house on Christmas Eve, but her coworkers are all with their families and have plans. Not only does someone want to see a house on Christmas Eve, but it isn't just any house. The house used to be her high school boyfriend Andrew's house. Even though she broke up with him right before heading off to college, she has never gotten over Andrew. She has avoided him since coming back to town figuring that he never wants to see her again after she left and broke his heart. But when the potential buyer shows up to view the house, it is none other than Andrew. Andrew has never been able to get over Etta, and he is ready to get her back. Can Andrew and Etta pick up where they left off years ago? Can they have a second chance at the love they once shared?
I liked Andrew and Etta. They were fun to read about and they both seemed to be really genuine. They were sweet together, and you could tell that they both never stopped caring about each other. Sometimes with novellas, I struggle with the ability to find a relationship believable because of the short length. But I really found these two characters to be real and their connection seemed to be one that had endured all the obstacles that had been in their way. They were great together, and I loved getting to see some of their back-story and how they were together originally. I really enjoyed watching these two reunite and see that even though years had gone by, that there was a lot that hadn't changed. Andrew and Etta had great chemistry together, and I loved that they could admit they still had feelings for each other without waiting forever.
I did feel that even though they had a past and the feelings were still there, that the time frame on this one was a little quick for me though. The entire story takes place in the span of about twenty-four hours and that just didn't seem quite real to me. It was a little rushed considering that they hadn't spoken in years and then went to being together and buying a house together that quickly. I wish that we had been given a bit more time to really see their relationship sort of develop and grow. I also felt that although the characters were likable, we didn't really get to know them that well either. I think this is because of the short length of this novella. Overall though, this one was an enjoyable read. I thought it was fun and flirty while being quick and adorable. If you are looking for a short holiday read that ends with an HEA, this is probably a novella that you will enjoy. Andrew and Etta were cute together, and you couldn't help but feel a little in love with them and Christmas just by reading their story.
