ARC Review: Ramsay by Mia Sheridan

Ramsay is the newest book in the Sign of Love series by Mia Sheridan. I have really enjoyed every book I have read in this series, and each book is a standalone story based on one sign with Ramsay being based on Aries. This book was really good just like all the others that I have read from Mia, and I honestly cannot recommend this series enough. I am already looking forward to the next one.

Brogan Ramsay fell in love with Lydia De Havilland seven years ago. He was the son of her family's gardener and while their circumstances were different, he never saw her betrayal coming. It not only cost him the girl he loved, but also cost his family everything. Now years later he has worked hard to overcome his circumstances and the tables have turned. Ramsay is powerful now and is determined to get revenge for everything his family has been through. Determined to make Lydia and her family pay, Ramsay quickly discovers that just as he is no longer the same person he was, neither is Lydia. But nothing is ever as it seems, and Lydia and Brogan have secrets that could change everything.

I felt so much for Brogan. He had been through a lot and I hated that it had changed him in so many ways. While I wanted him to succeed, I hated that he had been hurt and was no longer the sweet boy he had been but was now cold and ruthless. The feelings he felt for Lydia were still there, and it was clear that nothing had changed as far as the pull between them went. Lydia though was a different story for me. I had some trouble with her character. While I wanted to hate her for everything that had happened, I knew there had to be more to the story and there definitely was. But I also couldn't quite get over how she handled things with her brother. He was truly awful and she was so blind to everything with him. He did so many terrible things, and it seemed like she just had one excuse after another for him, always cleaning up his messes. I wanted her to stop putting so much stock into what her brother would say and do, and start trusting her feelings for Brogan and finally see what was happening right in front of her face.

I did love the connection these two had, and once we got to see Brogan start to realize that Lydia wasn't who he had thought we did get to see some of that tenderness come back. I was so glad that he hadn't lost all of that with everything that had happened, and I did truly believe that these two were meant to be. I have to say that Lydia's brother and Brogan's ex really frustrated me at times though, and that was the reason this one wasn't a five star read for me. There were just some things that happened relating to them that kept me from absolutely loving this story. I do still highly recommend Ramsay and the entire Sign of Love series though as Mia Sheridan is a fantastic writer and I really can't get enough of her stories. If you are a fan of this series, this is a must read and if you are new to her, this series is one worth checking out. Archer's Voice is still my favorite of this series as well as being one of my all time favorite books period, but I have really liked everything I have read from Mia Sheridan and look forward to more from her.

ARC Review: Grayson's Vow by Mia Sheridan

Grayson's Vow is the newest novel in Mia Sheridan's Sign of Love series. Each book in this series is a standalone story inspired by a different zodiac sign, with Grayson's Vow being inspired by Libra. I really love this series, and the emotional depth that Mia always brings to her stories. Grayson's Vow was no different, and I found myself instantly drawn into this book.

Kira Dallaire is desperate, and knows that she is almost out of options. With little money and nowhere to go, she quickly realizes she needs to come up with a plan. So when she overhears a conversation with a man just as desperate as her, she figures she has nothing to lose. Grayson Hawthorn made a vow to his father to do whatever it took to turn the family winery back into a success, but with his circumstances he is almost out of options. So when Kira offers him a way out, he might just be crazy enough to take it. But what starts out as a business arrangement to save them both, turns into something more with each passing day. However with their pasts still affecting them both, they must figure out if they can tear down the walls between them or if they are best to stick to the plan that brought them together in the first place.
Kira and Grayson both had a lot of issues from their pasts that were still affecting them. While Kira was fun and spirited though, Grayson was cold and stoic. Kira really brought him back to life, and I loved seeing that side of him. I felt so badly for Grayson and all that he had been through. While he had a tough exterior and was often times rude or gruff, it was clear that everything he had been through had really affected how he saw himself. He didn't believe that anyone wanted him, and it was heartbreaking to watch. Kira had her own share of issues though, and I absolutely hated how her father and Cooper had treated her. I loved her best friend though, and I was grateful that Kira had her as well as her grams. I think was what made all the difference for Kira, and really helped her to always keep fighting and helping others. While Grayson did have some people in his corner, it wasn't the same and he hadn't really grasped the idea of family being what we make it. I thought that these two were really perfect for each other though, and they just fit together. While at first glance you would never expect it to work, these two completed one another in a way that no one else did.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and I loved Kira and Gray together. I will say that this book was a bit different from Mia's past books that I have read though, and while emotional and tough at times this one definitely had a lighter feel. It was good to see such a balance of light and dark, and pain as well as hope and love. There were times that this story was a bit slow, but I loved these characters enough to keep reading and I was really happy with where things went here. I highly recommend anything by Mia Sheridan if you are looking for an emotional and deep love story. Mia Sheridan has a way with words that is unique and different from anything else out there, and I cannot wait to read more from her in the future.

Review: Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

I had heard so many great things about Archer's Voice before starting that I was a little hesitant to actually begin. I was worried that it had been over-hyped, but boy was I wrong. This book was amazing, and I loved it from start to finish. I have never read a book similar to this one, and Archer Hale is one of a kind. He is at the top of my all time favorite book boyfriends ever list now, and I could not get enough of him!

Bree Prescott arrives in the small town of Pelion, Maine looking for a place to get away from awhile. She doesn't have plans for how long she will stay, but she ends up renting a cabin and makes friends with her neighbor. When she heads into town for some supplies and to see about getting a job, she runs across a scruffy stranger who helps her after her bag of items falls to the ground. She tries to talk to him, but he walks away without a word. Suddenly curious about him, she begins to ask around town about him and finds out that Archer Hale lives an isolated life on the edge of town after experiencing a tragedy years before. Bree sets out to become friends with him, and along the way they find themselves healing from their pasts together. Though they are able to begin healing and find themselves falling for one another, old insecurities and new worries threaten to stand in the way of a future together.

I loved Archer. I feel as though there really aren't enough words to really do his character justice. He was sweet and thoughtful after you get to know him, though he starts off as a bit rude and gruff. As you get to know more about him though, you see that he has every reason to act the way he does. He had been treated horribly after suffering through more than anyone should ever have to go through, and I felt so badly for him. But Bree saw through his exterior and was able to show him that love can heal anything. She was patient and kind with him, and I was so glad that she never gave up on him. In a lot of ways Archer had the mindset of a child, and Bree always saw the best in him and encouraged him to be himself no matter what. She helped him when he needed it, and let him do things his own way when that was best for him. These two were beyond perfect for one another, and there really was no one else that would have ever been good enough for either of them. They belonged together, and that was clear from the start. I loved seeing them get to know one another and explore the chemistry between them, all while falling head over heals for one another.

Overall, I really cannot begin to give all the reasons to read this book. It was fantastic. It was the first book that I have read by Mia Sheridan, but it definitely won't be the last. This book not only lived up to all the hype, but far exceeded any expectations I had going in. I highly recommend this story, and cannot wait to go back and read it again. Archer's Voice is by far one of the best books that I have read, and it was such a beautiful story of loss and healing, and how with true love we can overcome anything. I look forward to reading more from Mia Sheridan, and I know that Archer and Bree will stay with me forever.
