ARC Review: Temptation by Robin Covington

Temptation was a book I was very interested in reading. The book cover alone had me intrigued from the beginning. Everyone fantasizes about meeting a celebrity and falling in love. Who wouldn't want that?

I must say Max was very sexy. He's everything you would imagine a hot firefighter being. The way he handled Kit and took care of her is just what you would expect from a hot fireman. I couldn't believe how he went from being so close-minded about relationships to being completely committed to Kit in such a short amount of time. Their connection was undeniable, but I just couldn't understand how he was against a serious commitment one minute and the next he couldn't live without her.

As far as Kit goes, she was a bit boring for a celebrity. She came with a good amount of drama as far as her mother and her career were concerned but I just couldn't get into her character. The only time I really liked her was when she was with Max. Their chemistry was unbelievably hot and I found myself wishing they would get back together just for the sex.

The ending of the book was not my favorite. It felt rushed and chaotic. Maybe it would have been better had the last chapter not been as long as it was but it was just too much to take in.

I don't know exactly what it was that left me feeling a bit unsatisfied but I just feel like there was a hole in the story. The sex scenes were amazing but the desire was not fulfilled. All in all, the book was good it just missed in some areas that I think could have made the book that much better. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author as this book left me craving just a little bit more.

Feature and Giveaway: Temptation by Robin Covington

She needs to be good.

Five years ago, Kit Landry was homeless and alone at sixteen. Determined to ditch her crappy life, she moved to Nashville with only $200, her guitar, and a notebook full of songs. She hit it big as America’s country sweetheart, but a year of living like a rock star plus a stint in rehab has killed any good will she had with her label. The suits have ordered Kit to shape up or ship out of the limelight. The last thing she needs is a hot, sexy distraction with a sinful smile.

He doesn’t know the meaning of the word.

Max Butler is as far from a celebrity as you can get and he likes it that way. A Nashville firefighter, he’s living the single life with a revolving door of parties, friends, and a different woman in his bed every night. When his normal life suddenly collides with the girl on his favorite Rolling Stone cover, he sees the perfect chance to fulfill his ultimate fantasy and see just how bad Kit can be.

Sometimes bad is so very good.

With three weeks until Kit leaves for her big tour, Max promises to give her a break from being the good girl--no strings attached. But when hot days lead to sultry nights, the lines get blurred and suddenly three weeks of bad might not be good enough.

ARC Review: Sweet Southern Betrayal by Robin Covington

Sweet Southern Betrayal by Robin Covington is the third book in The Boys Are Back In Town Series. This book can be read as a standalone but has interconnecting characters. I haven't read the rest of this series, but I really liked this one and had no problems without having read the previous installments. Robin Covington definitely did not disappoint with this story, and she is becoming a favorite of mine to read. Her stories are well written, have real and likable characters and are really enjoyable books. I can't wait to go back and read the first two books in this series and also read more from Covington in the future. If you are looking for a great Contemporary author, you definitely need to check Robin Covington out.

Teague has always lived his life according to "The Plan". He is a Harvard Law grad about to make partner at his firm, and is on his way to a political career that he hopes lands him in the oval office. But when he winds up in Vegas and ends up involved with a showgirl, his life seems to be headed off track. Despite the attraction, Teague heads home assuming that he will never see Risa again. She shows up on his doorstep not long after looking to escape from the mobster that she owes money as well as to inform Teague that they are married. With Teague's life spiraling out of control, he rushes to fix the problems that he is suddenly faced with including his new wife Risa. Risa is filled with guilt and knows that the mobster she double crossed will likely try to kill her, but she can't help but want to protect the stranger who happens to now be her husband. The more time that they spend together, Teague and Risa realize that they share more than just intense passion and both begin to hope for a chance to be together. But with secrets and guilt between them and Teague's political aspirations can they possibly have a future together?

I really liked Risa and Teague. They were great together and had amazing chemistry. They were super sexy and you could really see the intense passion between them. I loved watching as they got to know each other better, and they were the perfect balance for the other. I felt like the connection and relationship between them real and believable despite the short time that they knew each other. It isn't often that it works and usually comes off as rushed, but that wasn't the case with Risa and Teague. Teague was a really great guy, smart and sexy but a little bit buttoned up being a lawyer with political goals. But Risa really brought out the other sides to him and allowed him to open up a bit more. Risa was strong and determined, a true survivor. She definitely made some mistakes and didn't think things through or handle them correctly. But I loved how she went after what she wanted and was proof that you can overcome anything if you really work hard and put your mind to it.

Overall, I really liked Teague and Risa's story. I thought that they were great together and really seemed to fit well. They were a case of opposites attract, and they not only made it work but they really were better because of their differences. I really liked all the secondary characters as well, and I can't wait to go back and get the previous stories as well as read more in the future. I loved the camaraderie and friendship that all the guys had, and how they looked out for each other. They were a lot of fun to read about. This book was a quick and enjoyable read. If you are looking for an entertaining contemporary, I recommend that you give this one a shot. Robin Covington is worth the read, and Teage and Risa are a great couple that are easy to become invested in and root for. I can't wait to read more from Robin Covington in the future.

ARC Review: Playing the Part by Robin Covington

Playing the Part is my first Robin Covington book, but I can tell you it won't be the last. This book was enjoyable and hot, and for me it was a natural progression of two people falling in love. Mick is an action movie star who wants to broaden his career. He is struggling wih his first non-action role and the director decides that he needs a little insight into the part from the author of the book which the movie is based on. Piper is struggling to please her publisher and relaunch her career after a devasting and very public break-up. Piper and Mick have a ton of chemisty right from the start, and the attraction and passion between them is explosive. As Mick and Piper spend more time together, they decide to have a fling while she is on set. After Piper's break-up she is hesitant to get involved with anyone who isn't safe, and Mick is anything but. Mick doesn't believe in love and is a known ladies man, but as they get to know each other they begin to rethink their no-strings attached fling and start to think about the future.

Mick is confident and sexy, but he is also deeper than what you see on the surface. I really loved how even though he was out for publicity and making sure that his career was always on top he was sweet and did things he could have made himself look even better for in private. The scenes between Mick and Piper were witty and fun and had the full range of romantic and sweet to scorching hot. Piper was extremely likable and a heroine I was rooting for from page one. She wasn't afraid to be herself and say what she felt. I found that I related to her character very easily. Although the time period of this book is somewhat short, I had absolutely no problem believing in the growing relationship between the two of them. Covington did a great job of developing the characters and the plot so that Mick and Piper grew as individuals and as a couple with a future that neither of them could have predicted.

Overall, I thought this book was great. It was a quick enjoyable read, and I just couldn't put it down. The characters were likable and perfect for each other. If you are looking for something light and fun to read with explosive chemistry, this is definitely a must read. After reading this book, I am looking forward to reading more of Covington's books in the futre!
