ARC Review: How To Seduce A Scoundrel by Vicky Dreiling

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Vicky has created a wonderful story with a great mix of love and humor. I love the passion between both Julianne and Hawk. It was very enjoyable to see them get their HEA. I loved that we saw both characters at such vulnerable states but overcome everything and find their way to eachother. The love between them both was very believable and very passionate.

Julianne is such a caring and passionate person. She isn't just some flighty debutante whose only concern is fashion plates and snaring a husband. She thinks of others and truly cares about their feelings.

I think I may have fallen slightly in love with Hawk. He has great sense of humor but at times is very brooding and protective. I loved reading about him and loved the journey he took to come to terms with his past. I sincerely felt for him and I loved how Vicky was able to tie up his loose ends and make it believable.

I definitely hope that we get to see more of these two in future books. This was a highly enjoyable read and I reccomend it to everyone. I honestly didn't want it to end.

Review: Rock Hard by Olivia Cunning

This book was a little disappointing to me. I just didn't enjoy it as much as the first book Backstage Pass, which totally sucks because I was really looking forward to reading Sed and Jessica's story. I am a big fan of reunion stories but this one just fell a little flat for me. I didn't feel any sparks between Sed and Jessica like the way I did for Brian and Myrna in the previous book. I will say that this book was very emotional and not as light as the first. I actually found myself tearing up quite a few times when certain things happened with some of the band members.

Sed in Rock Hard seemed like a completely different person to the one we were introduced to in Backstage Pass. There we saw a man who just uses women and doesn't seem to care about others feelings. He has no qualms about sleeping with any of his friends girlfriends including all of Brian's previous exes. Though we could see that he was hurt by the ending of his relationship with Jessica, we still saw that he was still very angry that she was able to break his heart. In Rock Hard, we never see that anger. As soon as he sees Jessica again all is forgiven and he is instantly in love again. I would have liked to see him coming to terms with everything in his past with Jessica before latching onto her so fiercely.

As for Jessica, I never really warmed up to her. I just don't know what it was about her. I think I may have just been put of a bit by her scheme to seduce Sed and crush him. All because she seems to think that he's an egotistical jerk who is full of himself. I don't think she ever really got to know Sed until the end of the book. Even then I still didn't really feel like she tried to much. Does she love Sed because they have great sex together or does she love him because he's a great guy inside? I just don't know.

Also, another thing that really bugged me is how Sed treats Jessica towards the end of the book. Here we see a little bit of the Sed that we met in Backstage Pass. Jessica decides she wants to stay on tour with him and the Sinners and that she is possibly thinking about dropping out of school. Instead of listening to Jessica and trying to talk her out of it he immediately pushes her away and treats her as if she's a groupie. Claiming that he doesn't want her around and that she needs to get away from him. Huh? Seriously? Sed spends the entire book going on about how much he loves her and how he's never going to let her go again only to push her away when she makes a dissucion he doesn't like. Ugh!

All in all, this was an okay read for me. It's definitely not as good as the first book but I still loved reading about the guys of Sinners. I love seeing the comraderie between them and how much they all truly care for one another. Plus, the scenes with them together are just plain hilarious.

Anxiety about meeting others at Cons

So I know I'm a little premature with this but I'm really nervous about going to the Authors After Dark Con in August. I have issues when it comes to meeting people. I tend to be very shy and sometimes it's really hard for me to open up. Also, what if no one likes me. I almost want to pay so my BF can attend everything with me so I have someone to talk to. My BF just keeps telling me not to worry that these are my people, but seriously what if everyone hates me?

ARC Review: Seduction & Scandal by Charlotte Featherstone

I have a bevy of mixed emotions when it comes to this book and not all of them are good. It's not as if I hated this book, but I sure didn't like it too much at least for the first half of the book. It took me awhile to get into a groove of reading this book. Also, it took me awhile to figure out what kind of story it was. During the beginning of the book it had a lot of paranormal elements that seem to all but disappear towards the end of the book. I found myself continuously turning the page hoping that it would get better. It finally did, but towards the second half of the book and to me, it only got slightly better. I had a hard time connecting with the hero. I did not understand what the Earl of Black was aiming for when it came to Isabella. He seems to have such strong feelings towards her but whenever he is with her, he just talks about bedding her. Umm, those are not the words a female wants to hear. I just don't understand why he was so hestitant to tell he loved her when he has supposedly loved her from afar for two years now.

One thing I did enjoy with this story were all of the secondary characters. I really found that I liked Sussex and I can't wait to read about his and Lucy's HEA. Also, there seemed like there was some underlining tension between Elizabeth and Alynwick that I would too see more of. All in all I would like to read the rest of the series I just won't be buying the books. I'll just wait and check them out from my local library.

Review: Lisa's Gift by Mackenzie McKade

Love, pain, friendship, and heartache. These aren't things that I normally associate with an erotica novel. When I sat down to read this book I was expecting a light story filled with lots of sex. That was not the case at all with Lisa's Gift. This book was just so much more than sex. It had greatly developed characters that were experiencing real problems and hardships. Don't get me wrong, there was still plenty of hot sex but there was a great story to go with all of it. I honestly couldn't put this book down. I just kept turning the page wondering what was going to happen with Jana, Lisa, and Nicolas. I loved that we were able to watch Jana grow from a someone who is distrustful of others especially men, to someone who is able to open her heart and truly trust Nicolas. Can I just say that I loved Nicolas. He is both sexy and caring, always putting Jana and Lisa's needs above his own. I just loved him.
