Guest Post with Author Rebecca Royce

Today I would like to welcome to RFTC author Rebecca Royce. Rebecca is here today to chat about her Shifter and Bikers series. Before I give the floor to Rebecca let's get to know her some.

As a teenager, I would hide in my room to read my favorite romance novels when I was supposed to be doing my homework. I hope, these days, that my parents think it was worth it.

I am a mother of three adorable boys and I am fortunate to be married to my best friend. We live in northern New Jersey and try not to freeze too badly during the winter months.

I am in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and try to use all of these elements in my writing. I've been told I'm a little bloodthirsty so I hope that when you read my work you'll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. I love to write series because I love to see characters develop over time and it always makes me happy to see my favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In my world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

What writing problems do you struggle with, and how do you solve them?

I have a hard time making my muse sit still and focus on what I want it to. My creative spirit loves to come up with ideas and stories. Stay settled while I actually do the grunt work of writing the ideas that my muse has come up with.

To write a long novel—or even a short story—takes a certain amount of concentration that I don’t always possess. To counter this I set a certain amount of time. I will have this chapter done by_____ and then I make myself keep that deadline.

As much as my muse likes to wonder, my type-A personality likes to meet goals. Somehow, it all gets done but it is a constant struggle.

For years, shapeshifter Gunther West has known Judy is his mate. His little human isn't so sure. When a tragedy brings her knocking on his door seeking comfort, Gunther is more than ready to provide it. Neither can deny the sparks that fly, but are those sparks enough for forever?

**Excerpt**

“How did you wake up so quickly? I just stepped in the room and I didn’t make a sound.”

“It’s a wolf thing. And you are you. I think I could scent your approach across a continent, let alone a small room. Sleep is nothing for me.” He gestured her closer. “Tell me what happened.”

She stepped forward, and he wondered how it could be that simply by coming closer to him, she managed to increase the temperature in his bedroom by at least ten degrees. Hell, he’d be lucky if he didn’t start sweating.

“Tell me.”

Rather than answering, she looked away as she took another step. Dark circles marred her face.

For Judy, she’d dressed downright conservatively. Then again, he usually saw her downstairs in his bar, dressed in biker attire, which included leather and snakeskin. Wearing jeans and a black cotton T-shirt, she looked sort of…soft. His hands clenched. He wanted to protect her even though she’d never allowed it.

  1. Rebecca Royce definitely knows how to create heroes and heroines with a lot of depth and personality. I think the reason her books are so popular is because she does write series. Her readers love her characters and when previous characters make an appearance in a new book, they get that nice jolt of recognition and a satisfying, "how have you been since the last time we met?" sort of feeling.
