Interview with Author Casea Major and Giveaway

Today I would like to welcome back to RFTC author Casea Major. Casea is on tour celebrating the release of her newest book Night With a Dom and took the time out of her busy schedule to let me ask her some questions. But before I get to the interview, let's get to know about Casea a bit.

Prior to becoming a writer of romantic fiction, Casea Major worked in the legal field for a non-profit dispute resolution company for ten years. She is now a full-time mom to three preschool children with whom she and her husband live happily...most of the time. When she isn't chained to her laptop, she enjoys Cary Grant movies and crocheting.

First off, can you tell us a bit about you?
I am a stay-at-home mom with two school-aged children and one preschooler. I was born and raised in Texas and am a die-hard Cowboys fan. I love reading well-written emotional stories. I enjoy writing them too.

Did you always want to be a writer?
I always enjoyed writing but not until a year ago did I understand I could actually finish a story.

What kind of writer are you? Panster or Plotter?
I am a Planster. I do a little of both.

Where do your ideas come from?
A lot of my inspiration comes from music, books and TV.

A la Twitter style, can you describe your book (or series) in 140 characters or less.
A workaholic seeks a kinky 1night stand with a masked Dom.

Out of any of your books, which one would you like to be a character in? And why?
One Knight in Brooklyn, my first 1NS story, has the sexiest, sweetest, funniest hero I've written. I would definitely be his date.

What are some of your favorite kinds of stories to read?
I love Romantic Comedy and I love strong emotional content.

Do you have a favorite book and if so what is it?
I actually just finished The Crossroads Café by Deborah Smith and it was one of the best Women's Fiction books I've ever read.

Have you ever fallen for another author's hero? If so, who and why?
I read Outlander over a year ago and I am still in love with Jamie Fraser. He is literary perfection. I aspire to write such a man.

Describe the characteristics that make up your perfect hero.
Noble, Strong, Good, Honorable, Self-Sacrificing, Able, Smart and Funny wrapped up in an unassuming gentle package.

What are the scenes that are the hardest for you to write?
The "in-between" scenes that move the story but where no high action or emotion takes place.

If you could have dinner with any three book characters, who would you choose and why?

  • Jamie Fraser from Diana Gabaldon's Outlander, mainly so I could look at and listen to him
  • My first hero, Avant, because he embodies everything I personally love in a man and Petra who is my view of Christ.
  • And Dumbledore from Harry Potter, because I would love for him to teach me some magic.

If you could have dinner with any three authors, who would you choose and why?
JK Rowling because she is richer than the queen and could pay for dinner, C.S Lewis because his prose is still relevant 70 years later and The Apostle Paul because his wisdom is the elixir of life.

What do you like to do in your free time? Free time?
I'm sorry. I'm not sure what that is.

Favorite movie?
Right now - The Hunger Games

Favorite song?
We Found Love Rhianna

Favorite color?
Green

Last question, are you working on anything right now?
Yes – working on a Chick Lit Paranormal from the Male Point of View. It's a paranormal Guys and Dolls meets Kindergarten Cop.

Thanks so much for having me today.

Melody Manning’s workaholic ambition, coupled with a slave-driving former boss, has made her the youngest market analyst in her firm. It’s also killed her personal life, including losing her fiancĂ©. When she receives a message from him on New Year’s Eve announcing his engagement to another woman, Mel loses it. Her new, more compassionate boss has the perfect solution for her—get laid. Good and laid.

At his suggestion, she signs up with the 1Night Stand service, listing her deepest sexual desires on the application. A speedy response from Madame Eve has Melody on her way to Sonoma Valley wine country and a one-night stand with a mysterious Dom.

The sexy, masked Master promises to get to the bottom of her guilt and provide ultimate satisfaction under the safety of his stern hand. After an emotional night of submission and uninhibited passion, will her lover’s unmasking lead to the end of their encounter or give Mel another chance at love?
