A Foiled Spy Mission...with Jade Lee and Giveaway

A Foiled Spy Mission on Christmas Eve - Jade Lee

A USA Today Bestseller, JADE LEE has been scripting love stories since she first picked up a set of paper dolls. Ball gowns and rakish lords caught her attention early (thank you Georgette Heyer), and her fascination with the Regency began. An author of more than 40 romance novels and winner of dozens of industry awards, she finally gets to play in the best girl-heaven place of all: a Bridal Salon! In her new series, four women find love as they dress the most beautiful brides in England. A Gentleman’s Gamble and What the Groom Wants are coming out in January and February.

And don’t forget KATHY LYONS. She’s Jade’s lighter, contemporary half. Don’t you hate it when you share erotic dreams with a stranger? It happens in her new Kathy Lyons series. Dream Nights with the CEO is available now!

Christmas Eve Spy Surprise!

Hello everyone! So my theme is a foiled spy mission on Christmas Eve. Here you get to meet Radley Lyncott, the hero of What the Groom Wants coming out in Feb 2014. Isn't this cover gorgeous? Radley's got quite the task ahead of him, and it won't be easy. But for the moment, you get to see the moment when he realizes it's time to go home. Of course, once he gets there, he's in for quite the massive surprise.

And by the way, one lucky commenter will get a gift of the first three books in the series: Wedded in Scandal, Wedded in Sin, and What the Bride Wore. So read up! And comment on how much you like my Bridal Favors Series!

***

"Titty?"

Radley winced as the pretty whore lifted her still growing breasts to his face. He tried to hold her off. He and his mates were simply trying to have a drink in the local watering hole. It was Christmas Eve and they were in Spain instead of Mother England, so drinking seemed to be the order of the day. Sadly, it was impossible to visit a tavern and not find an armful of woman--all for a price, of course.

"Titty?" the pert redhead repeated. It was clearly the only English word she knew, and if she were offering it to any of his other companions, it would be all she needed.

Radley looked about the table at his shipmates. Good men in general, but right now they were all nearly blind drunk on cheap ale and had a woman for each arm. Time was he'd be as jolly as the rest of them. And as he often kept better control of his coin, he was usually the one who could pay for a holiday celebration with the prettiest women.

But not this year. It may be that he was getting old, but for the first time in years, he had no interest in the redhead or even more than a passing drink. His mind was filled with a girl back home. One with a sharp tongue and a sweet smile if he could coax it out of her. He had a sketchbook in his bunk filled with pictures of her, and every man aboard knew her as Radley's Wind. He toyed with her likeness even here, drawing it on the table in spilled ale.

"Titty!"

The girl was getting desperate, grabbing his hand and shoving it against her body. And how sad was that on this Christmas Eve? That she had no where else to go and nothing else to do but beg him for attention.

He reached into his pocket, planning to give her a coin to leave him alone when he saw her other hand snake away. Though her entire body seemed to be straining toward him, her free hand was slipping into the shirt pocket of their newest seaman. As the man had his hands full with two other whores, he'd never notice that this redheaded waif was about to rob him of...

Papers? A leather packet, folded over twice and tied with a cord.

Radley didn't hesitate. He lunged forward, throwing the girl and her tits off him as he grabbed her wrist. She screamed, but that was nothing compared to her reaction when he held up her hand still clutching the packet.

"Bloody hell!" Seaman Smith bellowed, throwing off his own whore as he realized what had nearly happened. Then his gaze locked in on the girl. "Don't let her go! She's important!"

Radley had no intention of releasing her, but he didn't want to crush the child's wrist. Stupid him because the girl was obviously more cagey then he'd guessed. She punched him--hard--right in the face. Then while he was still reeling from the impact, she twisted his slender hand from his and was gone.

"Get her!" Smith screamed as he rushed after her.

But it was too late. The girl was gone, out the door and lost to the bitter night.

"Damn it!" Smith said as he came back to the table. Oddly enough, all the whores had slunk away, leaving five men looking stupidly at Smith as he plopped back down. "Damn it!"

Radley held up the packet. "At least she didn't get this."

"Thanks," he said a bit sheepishly as he secreted it back into his jacket. It took a moment of time as it wasn't an obvious pocket and, once he pulled his hand away, no man could tell that he carried anything. But obviously a woman could. "How did you know she was nicking it?"

"I wasn't interested in the distraction," he said honestly.

"Not in her? The Red Sparrow? The most gorgeous spy in Europe?"

"Is that who she was?"

"Had to be."

"Huh." That was it. He had no other thought than mild surprise. Certainly he'd heard of the notorious female spy, but to actually encounter and thwart her? That was quite the surprise.

But that's because his Wind blew him in another direction. And this time, it was back home to her. Where he fully intended to make her his.

Wendy Drew, co-owner of A Lady’s Favor dress shop, is working at a gambling den to help pay off a relative’s debt when she catches the eye of the den’s owner. Wendy is attracted to his dark, dangerous ways, but she has no idea how far he’ll go to make her his.

Seaman Jacob Teel has been in love with Wendy from the first time he met her. Now he’s home, done with the seafaring life, and has recently inherited a Welsh title. Finally, he can court Wendy for real—if he only he knew about his deadly competition.

  15. I'm truly sorry that I can't answer the question as Jade Lee is a new-to-me author and I haven't read the Bridal Favors series. But I noted that these stories are highly regarded and so will buy the first one if I'm not lucky enough to win the draw. Historical romances are my go-to romances for reading on my Kindle and I'm glad I caught this blog post today so that I have been introduced to Ms. Lee. Thanks for the post! jdh2690@gmail.com
